Inside the water tank earlier, Gabriela and Isa had witnessed the entire battle outside through the surveillance, gaining a clearer understanding of Wolverine's and George's combat capabilities. Additionally, the Professor had spoken with them.

According to the Professor, attempting to reach New York, find information about Tony Stark, and then go to the Middle East for a rescue, all within a mere six days, was almost impossible.

Even if they succeeded, it would be fraught with danger.

It was essentially risking Wolverine's and George's lives.

Moreover, the well-informed Professor also advised against the children going to Canada and letting the Canadian government arrange their future lives.

So, after careful thought and discussion, they decided to completely abandon their previous cooperation with the Canadian government and no longer head to the North Dakota border. Instead, they would find a safe place to settle down first.

Then, they would properly plan how to rescue Tony Stark.

Even if this plan ultimately failed, as long as they worked together, they could defeat the people from the experimental base, whom they had previously thought unbeatable, and manage to live on with the children.

Hearing Gabriela's reply, George's eyes immediately lit up.

He naturally agreed wholeheartedly with Gabriela's decision. Rescuing Tony Stark in six days, although he had a plot advantage and it wouldn't be as life-threatening as the Professor suggested, it certainly wouldn't be easy.

New York was a place with intricate and complex forces; who could guarantee everything would go smoothly?

If they had ample time to prepare, and his abilities developed further—allowing him to deflect sniper bullets—or if he learned a few more spells at Hogwarts, then the success rate would naturally increase significantly.

Crucially, if he remembered correctly, Tony Stark had told Pepper in the car in the movie that he had been held in the cave for over three months.

So, normally, they didn't need to be so rushed.

Alternatively, if his strength became sufficient in the next few months, and he could acquire enough money to buy shares in Stark Industries, then whether or not to rescue Tony Stark might become irrelevant.

He wanted to save Tony Stark for money, for Tony Stark to shelter them and allow them to live normal lives.

But if they were strong enough and had money, there would be no need to seek out Tony Stark.

Because seeking cooperation with Tony Stark would inevitably attract the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D., and being noticed by S.H.I.E.L.D. meant being noticed by Hydra, leading to even greater trouble.

"Six days is indeed tight. Since you've made your decision, let's leave here first, find a safe place, and then discuss what to do next."

George nodded to Gabriela, then led everyone to collect the submachine guns and grenades from the corpses before swiftly leaving the abandoned factory.

In their current situation, as long as they left the border area quickly and went somewhere a bit further away, it would be difficult for the experimental base personnel to reorganize and find them again.

Alkali Genetics could access surveillance in this small border county because the area was chaotic enough that many things could be arranged with money.

But they weren't like S.H.I.E.L.D., the FBI, or the CIA—official national organizations. On the surface, they were just businessmen; it was impossible for their influence to span the entire United States, otherwise, they would have been eliminated long ago.

In the movie, if Donald hadn't utilized Caliban's tracking ability, it wouldn't have been so easy to find Wolverine and the Professor.

Moreover, with X-24 killed, the other side likely wouldn't pursue them again until a new clone was created, as they simply couldn't win.

So, if nothing unexpected happened, after this major battle, the experimental base should remain quiet for several months, allowing them to calmly plan their next steps.

On the highway, Isa drove the large truck ahead, while George, Gabriela, Wolverine, Caliban, and Professor X sat with the children in the covered back, discussing their next destination.

After some deliberation, they summarized the following points:

First, the place they were going to stay in could not be in a city center, as that would easily expose their whereabouts and attract the attention of the government and Alkali Genetics.

Second, the place they stayed could not be too remote, because neither the children's education, nor the Professor's necessary medication, nor their daily lives could be adequately met in too remote a location.

Also, it would be difficult to acquire money in overly remote places. If they didn't go the route of rescuing Tony Stark, then they would need to find a way to earn money to buy Stark shares.

How to quickly earn money?

Normal methods certainly wouldn't work. As the saying goes, "murder and arson lead to wealth," so it would naturally involve taking from others, such as criminal businessmen and gangs.

In overly remote places, people were rare, let alone wealthy ones, so they naturally wouldn't be able to get much money.

Third, they couldn't be too far from New York.

On one hand, they still needed to continue monitoring Tony Stark's news and be ready to implement the rescue plan as soon as they had information.

On the other hand, George had another reason: New York was a hub for major events, especially with the Chitauri invasion coming in a few years. He needed to be nearby for observation.

If nothing happened, he wouldn't need to get involved, but if an unexpected situation arose, he needed to be prepared early.

Otherwise, he might be diligently practicing magic one day, only for the entire Earth to be destroyed, and he wouldn't survive either.

"Actually, we could go back to school, back to the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters."

After the summary, Professor X suddenly spoke.

However, Wolverine's face changed at his words, and he immediately vetoed:

"No, it's too dangerous. The government is still hunting you. Going back to school would be walking straight into a trap."

In truth, he wasn't worried about the government's pursuit.

After all, that was twenty-five years ago. They hadn't appeared in twenty-five years; the government leaders must have changed several times by now, and the current officials probably already thought they were dead.

He was worried about returning to New York, returning to the school. The Professor might recall the memories that had been deliberately sealed away—remembering that he had killed all the mutants at the school.

Professor X's eyes immediately welled up with tears upon hearing this:

"Logan, do you know, while you were fighting just now, I remembered everything. I remembered everything that happened back then.

Given the crimes I committed, I shouldn't even be alive anymore.

But now, I want to live. Not for myself, but for these children.

I want to properly treat myself and recover my abilities. I want to protect the hope of these mutants and atone for the sins I committed that year."

At this point, Professor X choked up and continued:

"The Cerebro chamber Beast built in the school's basement, once sealed and with its special switch activated, can contain my brainwaves. That way, if I accidentally lose control again, the same tragedy won't happen."
