"A week. Once this alien invasion incident is resolved, within no more than a week, every major city center around the world will have a Superpower Academy admissions office established."
Coulson guaranteed this without the slightest hesitation.
This alien invasion concerns the safety of the entire Earth—of all humanity. Compared to that, setting up a few admissions offices is nothing. The top levels of every government would undoubtedly agree.
George smiled and nodded.
"Good."
Establishing admissions offices around the world so that all children with special abilities can immediately apply to the school has been something Charles has been wanting to implement for months.
Not every child has the money or means to fly from another country to New York.
However, when it came to setting up these admissions offices, the governments of various countries were naturally reluctant. But given the overwhelming power of the Superpower Academy, they didn't dare openly refuse—so they simply stalled.
And since Charles is a good-tempered person, this matter had been delayed for months without resolution.
George was well aware of this, of course. It's just that lately, his focus had been entirely on studying magic and alchemy, so he hadn't paid it much attention.
Establishing such a massive academy—especially one that involves the interests of governments across the globe—was bound to bring about all kinds of complications. He couldn't be expected to personally handle everything that cropped up.
Take the admissions offices, for example. Even if he didn't get involved, it was only a matter of time before they got sorted out.
So he mainly focused on managing the school's overall direction, while leaving the day-to-day issues to Charles and the other teachers to handle.
But now, since the various governments were coming to him for help, he figured he might as well use the opportunity to casually resolve this minor issue too.
"Ding-ling-ling!"
A sharp alarm rang out across the school's floating island. All teachers immediately stopped their lessons and gathered in the conference room.
"George, what happened?"
The last to arrive, Logan, asked George, who stood at the front of the room.
George gestured toward Coulson, who quickly stepped forward and explained the situation again.
"Aliens?"
Everyone's expression turned to astonishment.
Even though they all possessed powers far beyond those of ordinary people, when it came to knowledge, they were still rooted in Earth-bound perspectives. Their understanding of outer space was no different from the average person's.
"Aliens are still people. At most, their technology is more advanced than ours—no need to worry. Thor, that guy, is an Asgardian, after all. You've all been to the Realm of the Gods.
According to Thor, only a few civilizations in the entire universe can match Asgard."
Seeing a few of them looking a bit uneasy, George waved his hand dismissively.
And he wasn't wrong. The civilizations in the Marvel Universe may seem powerful, but they're really not all that terrifying.
Compared to Earth, their technology—especially in spacecraft and interstellar navigation—is indeed far more advanced.
But when it comes to weapons, they aren't overwhelmingly superior.
Personal weapons are a different story—standard-issue laser guns are certainly more powerful than Earth's firearms. But when it comes to large-scale weapons of mass destruction, they're honestly not that much stronger.
In theory, such highly advanced civilizations should possess orbital weapons capable of blasting a planet into pieces with a single strike—but that's not the reality.
Even Ronan the Accuser needed the Power Stone to destroy Xandar. He couldn't do it with standard tech.
And if you think about it, nuclear weapons from Earth actually rank among the stronger weapons in the universe. According to the lore, they were created with the help of the Eternals.
The Eternals were created by the Celestials, who passed on their knowledge. And the Celestials are the creators of planets and civilizations throughout the universe.
As for physical strength—
Aliens generally have stronger bodies than ordinary Earthlings, but not by a huge margin. Those like Drax the Destroyer, who can take bullets and just feel itchy, are rare exceptions.
Most aliens are only about twice as strong as a normal human being. Even the legendary Asgardians—considered among the strongest physically—are only about three times stronger than average Earthlings.
And in the vastness of the universe, Asgardians are already considered one of the most physically powerful races.
So under normal circumstances, those alien raiders and bounty hunters, armed with all sorts of advanced weaponry, truly aren't opponents that ordinary Earth police or military forces can handle.
But when it comes to the teachers and students of the Superpower Academy—that's a completely different story.
Take Wolverine, for instance. Among all those raiders and bounty hunters in the galaxy, how many could actually take him in a fight?
"Exactly!"
When everyone thought about Thor and the people of Asgard, they suddenly realized George's words made a lot of sense. Aliens might not be as mysterious or invincible as they had originally imagined.
"This is actually a rare chance for the students to engage in real combat. Normally, we can't find so many decent enemies for them to spar with. Simulated battles in the training room are fine, but they're never quite the same as actual combat," George said as he began issuing orders.
"This time, each teacher will lead a team of students. Based on the alien landing locations that Coulson's team has detected, coordinate to carry out capture operations. The main person in charge of the mission will be Professor Charles."
George didn't plan to personally participate in the operation. These were just small fries, and he wasn't interested in wasting time on them. He'd rather continue his research into magic.
The mission details would be left to Charles to handle. After all, Charles used to run the X-Men and was skilled at battlefield coordination. Plus, with Captain Rogers on the team and support from S.H.I.E.L.D., Tony Stark was sure to join in eventually as well.
George would also temporarily activate the school's portal keys, allowing instant travel to target cities. If they encountered tough opponents, the keys would also allow for rapid reinforcement.
"Lastly, if you run into a situation you absolutely can't handle, press this. I'll take care of it."
Handing over the specially crafted portal key to Charles, George gave Coulson a reassuring pat on the shoulder—then disappeared in a flash of apparition.
The portal key bore his magical signature. If it was triggered, he would immediately sense it and teleport to the scene.
"Mr. Coulson, please contact Tony and Thor. Those aliens have spacecraft, and if they try to escape, we don't have many people here who can fly. It'll be hard to pursue them," Charles said, stepping forward after George left.
He coordinated with Coulson first, then began directing the teachers to pick students whose abilities complemented one another, forming teams that would use the portal keys to deploy across the globe.
The school had quite a few magical vehicles that George had personally crafted for the teachers—things like enchanted motorcycles, magical sedans, flying carpets, and broomsticks.
But those were only suitable for routine travel between the floating island and cities below. They weren't ideal for combat scenarios.
Alien ships would almost certainly be equipped with high-tech weaponry and capable of extreme speeds. To counter that, they'd need the likes of Tony and Thor—people built for airborne pursuit and high-speed combat.
