"Hmm? How did Hermione end up here?"

Carefully making his way toward the stage, George's face showed surprise as he recognized the hostages. Among them were four adults and three children, one of whom was Hermione Granger.

He knew Hermione had come to France for a vacation during the summer, and they had exchanged a letter beforehand. However, he remembered that in the letter, Hermione had mentioned she was visiting Dijon, a favorite magical destination in the east of France, not Paris.

"Old One-Eye, you're surrounded! Release the hostages and drop your wands, or we won't be so polite!"

The lead Auror, a man in his forties, pointed his wand at an elderly, one-eyed wizard and sternly warned him.

The one-eyed wizard, however, aimed his wand at the hostage he was holding and sneered. "If you have the guts, attack. Believe me, before your spell can hit me, I'll kill them first."

He paused, his eyes gleaming maliciously. "And there are three underage wizards here. Let's see how you explain this to your superiors."

As a Dark Wizard who had been on the run for over twenty years without being captured, he had encountered similar situations countless times. Most of the time, the enemy would compromise for the sake of the hostages' safety.

A few years ago, a particularly stubborn Auror had refused to negotiate. The result? He killed fifty Muggles, and the Auror was framed for the mess and was dismissed.

If this Auror wanted to avoid the same fate, he would have to back down.

"Damn it!"

Upon hearing the one-eyed wizard's words, the Auror captain hesitated. He had underestimated the enemy. They had only completed half of their encirclement when the one-eyed wizard noticed they had taken hostages.

Now, he was stuck. Neither releasing them nor keeping them seemed like a good option.

"Avada Kedavra!"

Seeing the hesitation in the Auror captain, the one-eyed wizard aimed his wand at the plump adult wizard he was holding and cast the Killing Curse.

The plump wizard collapsed, dead on the spot.

"Still hesitating? Then every ten seconds, I'll kill one of them until you agree!"

The one-eyed wizard began his countdown.

Within less than five seconds, the Auror captain couldn't hold out any longer.

"Fine, I'll let you go, but you have to release half of the hostages first."

He scowled. "Otherwise, how can I be sure you'll let them go afterward? You've killed hostages before after making your escape."

"You're not in a position to make demands," the one-eyed wizard sneered, narrowing his eye. He clearly wasn't willing to release half of the hostages just yet.

The Auror captain wasn't foolish. He raised his wand and spoke firmly, "Then I'll risk being dismissed. I'll make sure you stay here today!"

"Fine, but you can't leave this stage," the one-eyed wizard said, his eye turning as he signaled a few of his men to release three adult wizards from the remaining six hostages, leaving the three younger wizards under tighter control.

Seeing this, the Auror captain signaled for his men to open a gap in their encirclement.

The one-eyed wizard, holding three underage wizards hostage, began to slowly retreat toward the tent's exit.

Once they were out of the tent, they could Apparate away from Magical Street, making it much harder for the Aurors to catch them.

"This won't work."

Seeing the one-eyed wizard and his accomplices getting closer to the tent exit, with Hermione and the other young witches in tow, George started thinking quickly.

Hermione was a friend, and he couldn't just stand by and do nothing. Besides, he wanted to see if he could gather any clues about ancient magic from the one-eyed wizard, so he couldn't let them escape.

"Wait a minute... the mirror!"

George's eyes fell on a mirror positioned at the tent exit, and suddenly, an idea formed in his mind.

He quickly moved into the nearest dressing room behind the stage, found a mirror, and began to chant:

"Mirror World, open!"

The moment his wand touched the mirror, ripples spread across its surface, and without hesitation, George plunged into it.

During his time in the magical apprentice world, where he had been training with his panda familiar, George hadn't been idle. In addition to meditating to increase his magical level, he had also learned several spells, including the Mirror World and Mimesis Transformation.

Now, he was about to put the Mirror World spell to good use. He planned to lie in wait within the mirror at the exit, ambushing the dark wizards as they passed by with the hostages, and then quickly spring into action to rescue Hermione and the other two hostages.

Inside the Mirror World, everything appeared identical to the outside, except there were no living beings, and all objects were reversed.

He hurried toward the tent entrance, anxiously waiting inside the mirror.

About thirty seconds later, the one-eyed wizard and his five accomplices, holding Hermione and the other two underage witches hostage, finally reached the mirror at the entrance.

The Aurors, seeing them about to leave the tent, were stunned when an eleven- or twelve-year-old boy suddenly emerged from the mirror beside them.

"Disarm!"

As soon as George emerged from the mirror, he immediately pointed his wand. With a flick, he cast the Disarming Charm, sending the wand of the dark wizard holding Hermione flying out of his hand. At the same time, George's left hand swung with all its might, delivering a powerful slap that sent the dark wizard holding the other young witch flying.

At full force, George's slap carried over four thousand pounds of strength. Had the target been a normal person, the impact would have been enough to send them straight to the afterlife.

"Avada Kedavra!"

The sudden appearance of George threw the dark wizards into disarray.

However, they were all experienced combatants, and their reactions were quick. Except for the one-eyed wizard, the remaining three dark wizards simultaneously cast the Killing Curse at George.

But George's body was quicker than a cat's, and with a fluid motion, he performed an Iron Bridge and easily dodged the three Killing Curses. As he bent low, he immediately counterattacked.

One of his counterattacks was a second Disarming Charm from his right hand, while the other was a Light Arrow fired from the magic circle he had set up.

The dark wizards clearly hadn't anticipated George's agility in dodging the three Killing Curses and launching a counterattack. They were caught off guard. One of them was hit by the Disarming Charm and sent flying, while another was pierced by the Light Arrow through his right hand, the one holding his wand.

With that, all three young witches, including Hermione, were freed, leaving only the last dark wizard and the one-eyed wizard.

However, George then noticed something odd.

Since his ambush, the one-eyed wizard had not attempted to attack once. Instead, he had been muttering incantations that George couldn't understand.

It was strange—considering Amy's strength wasn't lacking, and the one-eyed wizard had defeated her and taken her wand. Given his skill, George expected him to have reacted by now. The fact that he hadn't was unsettling.
