Marvel: You Call This A Sorcerer?

Chapter 120: Ch.120 Father-in-law Wants to Meet New Son-in-Law?

Ronan was having a lovely time, but things were completely different over at S.H.I.E.L.D.

Phil Coulson sat on his plane, not looking too pleased.

Since establishing this special team, he rarely stayed at headquarters, spending most of his time handling other matters.

Of course, most of it involved dealing with remnants from the Battle of New York and alien artifacts.

At least, that was the situation so far.

"Phil, the things you wanted me to check have been confirmed."

At this moment, Melinda May walked over to Phil Coulson's side.

"Go ahead," Phil Coulson returned to his senses.

"Yesterday, our team that was tasked with monitoring Ronan discovered another group attempting to capture him."

"But before they could act, that group trying to capture Ronan was saved by Spider-Man."

Melinda May pressed a few buttons on the screen next to her, and Spider-Man's picture appeared on the large monitor.

"Spider-Man?"

Phil Coulson had definitely heard of this name.

"That's right. You might not know this, but Spider-Man is actually just a high school student from Midtown High."

"His real name is Peter Parker, and he is considered one of those 'vigilantes.'"

"He is also Ronan's classmate."

Melinda May immediately brought up Peter Parker's picture and displayed it on the large monitor.

To ordinary people, Spider-Man's identity might be a secret.

But for an organization like S.H.I.E.L.D., just tracking Spider-Man's activities was enough to get a good idea of who he was.

So, this was hardly a secret.

"So, during their pursuit, Spider-Man discovered them."

"And coincidentally took care of them?"

Phil Coulson couldn't help but frown.

"That's right. Our agents even captured footage of Spider-Man knocking out the enemies."

"Upon reviewing Spider-Man's activities, it seems he noticed from the beginning that someone was following Ronan, so he followed them to Ronan's apartment."

Melinda May nodded and played a video showing Peter Parker taking down the lookout.

The video clearly recorded Peter Parker's every move.

Especially that last punch.

"But what happened after entering the apartment remains unknown to us."

"Because as soon as they entered the apartment, the cameras were disabled."

Melinda May shrugged. After she said this, Phil Coulson immediately thought of a certain organization.

S.H.I.E.L.D.

"Our people?"

Because the method was all too familiar.

Melinda May nodded and continued, "To be precise, it was another team disguised as us."

"You know the mindset of some within the agency: we handle the straightforward inquiries, and if that doesn't work, they use this method."

"They would pretend to be some terrorist organization, abduct the person, and interrogate them about the situation."

"Then, coincidentally, the target would be rescued by police or other law enforcement."

"This kind of thing is implicitly permitted."

This was typical S.H.I.E.L.D. behavior.

On the surface, they looked like a government organization, but behind closed doors, they had plenty of tricks up their sleeves.

These little tricks had become routine.

And, of course, every government department in America had units specifically for dirty work.

So afterward, the rescued civilians would likely thank the government for their rescue and forget everything that happened.

"Didn't expect them to be so unlucky, running into Spider-Man."

Phil Coulson chuckled, though his smile was somewhat bitter.

He wasn't entirely supportive of such practices.

But he was just an ordinary agent, albeit with a slightly higher clearance level.

"However, this time, some in the agency may have taken things too far."

"To be safe, they even secretly kidnapped the daughter of the NYPD commissioner, Gwen Stacy, who happens to be Ronan's girlfriend."

"When the first team failed their mission, they immediately called Ronan."

"They demanded Ronan come alone to meet them."

Melinda May's expression remained unchanged, clearly indifferent to such matters.

Upon hearing this, Phil Coulson's expression changed immediately.

"And what happened?"

If they wanted to take Ronan away, Phil Coulson wouldn't have had such a big reaction.

After all, they were trying to gather intel, and Ronan's life wouldn't be in danger.

However, kidnapping an innocent person to gain information was crossing the line.

"The result…"

Melinda May glanced at Phil Coulson, and seeing his resolute expression, she sighed.

"Headquarters has ordered us not to spread this information."

"You understand, right?"

By "not spreading," Melinda May was referring to the other four agents on the plane.

It wasn't about security clearance but rather something they couldn't know.

Phil Coulson nodded, his expression growing serious.

Seeing he was ready, Melinda May began playing the next video.

The video wasn't long, but it showed a shocking scene.

A man wearing an Iron Man helmet instantly split into countless clones, each one wearing the same helmet and identical attire.

What was even scarier was the terrifying magic they used effortlessly, forcing Phil Coulson to avert his eyes.

It was a complete massacre!

The well-trained agents stood no chance at all.

Especially Sitwell, who was blasted away by a beam of energy glowing red.

The rest of the footage…

"Enough," Phil Coulson sighed, preparing to turn off the video.

Even though he had killed many people as an agent, he couldn't bear to watch this scene.

However, Melinda May stopped him.

Soon, the content of the video revealed the reason for Coulson's confusion.

"Nick Fury?"

"I see the last lesson I gave you wasn't enough, huh?"

"Now you're coveting my people."

"Run, run as far as you can. Make sure I can't find you."

"Otherwise, next time, it won't just be a leg—it'll be your life."

At the end of the video, an indescribable voice could be heard.

Undoubtedly, it belonged to the man wearing the Iron Man helmet.

"After analyzing the voice, the result was that these sounds and words are not human."

"As for the leg he mentioned, you know about that as well."

Melinda May didn't elaborate, but Phil Coulson understood.

Back then, someone broke into S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, injuring Director Nick Fury's leg, and escaped without a trace.

Though the incident was classified, quite a few people knew about it.

After all, many people heard the alarm coming from Nick Fury's office at the time.

"That person is the sorcerer the director mentioned."

"Looks like our previous guesses were correct. That kid is indeed connected to the sorcerer."

Phil Coulson took a deep breath. This was his first encounter with the man.

Previously, all contact had been through paperwork or stories from others.

But this one encounter was enough to terrify Phil Coulson.

The feeling was completely different from the time he met the mythical Thor.
