In fact, Eric wasn't targeting Wolverine at all.

Though Wolverine was certainly interesting, and as a very key figure among mutants, he never lacked significance.

However, at this moment, Wolverine Logan was in a rather poor state—actually, he seemed to have never been in great shape.

Apart from being handsome, with a body of steel plates and being nearly invincible, there didn't seem to be much else that stood out about him.

No, there was one more thing: he was very good at poaching.

For example, Phoenix was currently chatting with him, completely ignoring Cyclops, whose face looked extremely ugly.

Noah had no interest in participating in this drama. After leaving the laboratory, he went straight back to his room.

What the mutants had to deal with later wasn't something Noah and his friends could do anything about, though they didn't mind being seen by them.

It's interesting, though, that everything had gone so smoothly today.

One reason was that pretending to be SHIELD agents worked, and the other reason was pretending to be mutants.

The combination of these two special identities proved to have an unexpected effect.

The reason why Professor Charles and his friends had said and done so much, not minding Noah and his friends overhearing, was that they actually wanted them to hear and see.

By using SHIELD's authority and the identity of mutants, they could send the message to SHIELD: "Hey, we are different from other mutants; we're close to ordinary humans."

To be honest, the idea was simple, yet very practical.

At least Fury had started thinking about something, though Noah could tell that the man didn't seem to trust these mutants. He hadn't had much contact with them after all.

However, Fury did trust Noah and his friends, which Noah hadn't expected.

But upon further thought, it didn't seem too surprising. They'd had that contact five years ago, and Noah hadn't harmed them. He had even followed through on what he promised.

They were people who worked in the shadows to protect Earth. It wasn't enough to just say this; they had to show it through action.

Fortunately, Noah had done exactly that and even helped Fury see a different side of the world, though Fury couldn't speak of it.

Upon learning that there were actual guardians in this world, Fury hadn't completely unloaded his burdens, but he had felt some relief.

In the original story, Fury knew about the aliens with plans for Earth, but had only one ally.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have been in such a rush to form the Avengers in 1995.

Things were different now. Although Noah didn't know whether Fury had already formed the Avengers, he now had more than just Captain Marvel as an ally.

Of course, Fury still hadn't given up on his mission to "protect" Earth. That was just the kind of person he was.

"Honestly, these mutants are pretty pitiful." Evan sighed as the five of them entered Noah's room, sitting down on the sofa.

"Yeah, a person turned into that. But from another perspective, the abilities of these mutants are really impressive."

Kate nodded, still recalling the moment when the entire body of bones had turned into steel.

"Speaking of which, Fury, you guys are kind of twisted, right?" Lance said directly, looking at Fury with some sarcasm.

"Hey, this isn't on me," Fury replied nervously. "I never took part in this. I only found out a lot of things afterward."

Fury was visibly uncomfortable, not wanting to take the blame. After all, he had never participated in this from the start, and in fact, he thought it was one of the dumbest things to do.

You can study such powerful abilities, but why leave things half-done after studying them?

Also, never overestimate your control when conducting such research.

If the research fails, or worse, if you accidentally create something you can't control, it could lead to an absolute disaster.

As the planner and leader, Fury could escape, but who would clean up his mess?

That would most likely fall on his subordinates, and the casualties at SHIELD would be catastrophic.

Fury really hated William Stryker. After learning the "truth of the world," Fury had never entertained the idea of "capturing people with special abilities for research."

God knows, if they had caught someone from the magical world, would Earth even still exist?

Fury had already begun to consider whether to use his privileges when he returned and investigate General William Stryker.

He knew that taking action would cause trouble, but ignoring the unhappy magicians could lead to even more discontent.

"Alright, Lance, though Fury is a bit twisted, he knows a lot about this world. I don't think he's stupid enough to bring trouble onto himself."

Noah interrupted their conversation, shaking his head. "But I think Fury should do something. After all, it's a great opportunity to win over mutants, especially that Logan."

"Yeah, I won't bring trouble upon myself." Fury nodded seriously, but then looked at Noah strangely. "Wait a minute, how do you know what I'm thinking?"

"It's strange that you can bear to see those aliens. But if you set up some institutions or capabilities to resist them, maybe us magicians can take a break." Noah shrugged and smiled.

"Don't even think about it. Being lazy isn't a good thing." Fury laughed. "By the way, do you want to be silenced again this time?"

"No, your magic hasn't expired yet. Don't worry."

Noah shook his head. "As long as you're with us, silence won't work. But if you try to spill the beans, people may drop dead the second you open your mouth. So I'm not concerned."

"Damn it." Fury rubbed his bald head, speechless. "If I reveal something, will the person die? You magicians are terrifying."

Noah ignored Fury's thoughts and turned to his three friends, who were still puzzling over mutants.

"By the way, guys, what do you think of Animagus?"

"Animagus?" As soon as magic was mentioned, Evan and the others were immediately intrigued.

Evan stroked his chin. "Hmm, I don't have too many thoughts. This magic only lets you turn into small animals and insects, and it doesn't seem that useful for us."

"That was in the past," Noah said with a smile. "But now, things are different. When you turned Fury into a sheep earlier, I was thinking, why don't we try to transform into a mythical creature?"

Noah's words stunned everyone, including Fury, who was still caught up in the idea of magic silencing him and suddenly dying.

Turn into a mythical creature?

That idea was so wild, even for Fury, who didn't understand magic.

Animagus can't turn into just any animal at will. The form you take is usually tied to the wizard's personality and body shape.

Typically, you can only transform into one animal, and the transformation is limited to non-magical creatures.

Transforming into magical creatures could lead to unexpected consequences.

Maybe it was because of the inherent differences in how wizard magic and magical creatures' magic worked.

It takes years of practice to become an Animagus, which molds you into the most suitable animal. But there's always a chance of failure, and transforming requires great courage.

Kate became serious: "Noah, we all know the risks of Animagus. Well, let's not talk about whether we can succeed, but becoming a mythical creature is too dangerous. Do you want to become a dragon?"

Noah pursed his lips. Dragons weren't exactly friendly figures in the Western world.

In almost every novel or fairy tale, there's an evil dragon who captures a princess, bringing about a heroic battle that ends with a prince saving her.

But Noah wasn't about to give up that easily. Dragons were dragons—think about how evil Deathwing was, how cruel Smaug was... but they all had one thing in common:

They were handsome.

Strong, powerful, and undeniably handsome. Every man could relate to that.

"It's fine, Kate. Don't forget, I'm almost at the level of a high-level magician," Noah grinned. "And don't say you're not interested in mythical creatures."

"But Noah..." Lance frowned, clearly concerned.

"Alright, everyone, I just brought it up as an idea. I don't know if it'll work, but I want to try," Noah said, shaking his head.

He understood Lance's worries but added, "Of course, I won't take unnecessary risks. I'll do thorough research first—I'm not looking to destroy myself easily."

In fact, if this plan was feasible, Noah thought he could ask Master Ancient One for help.

Master Ancient One , being the one who possessed the Time Stone, could help reset time if Noah failed.

Of course, that would be a last resort.

Noah didn't want to go that far, and he wasn't even sure if Master Ancient One would use the Time Stone to save him.

So that would only be the final step. Noah felt he should prepare thoroughly first.

"Alright." Evan and the others sighed helplessly, seeing that Noah had made his decision.

After a long pause, Evan spoke, "In that case, I'll go with you."

"Ah?" Noah blinked, still processing.

"I'll join you, damn it. Just don't get us hurt." Lance pursed his lips.

"What are you..." Noah was confused now. He had told them not to take risks.

"We know what you mean, Noah, but we're not at ease."

Kate smiled. "Don't forget, we're all Ravenclaws. We may not agree with your idea, but we're in this together."
