Chapter 75: Vampires III
Together, Camille and Michael stepped out of the house to find Bonnie waiting with Stefan and the others.
"So, This was the boyfriend?" Damon asked, his gaze flicking to Michael.
Michael nodded, offering a polite smile. "Thanks for the help earlier," he said.
Damon shrugged nonchalantly. "Please I didn't helped you, Those shits were just some I wanted to kill" he replied, smirking.
"You're a warlock?" Stefan asked, studying Michael curiously.
Michael nodded. "Yes, and it's why I was able to take care of that vampire's neck earlier."
He turned to Bonnie and said earnestly, "Thank you, Bonnie, for getting me out of that place."
Bonnie gave him a small, appreciative smile.
Michael then spoke again, addressing Bonnie. "Now, let me reward you with something useful," he said, his tone confident. "Hold out your hand."
Bonnie nodded as she extended her hand. Michael clasped her fingers in his palm and began to chant softly under his breath.
He activated an engraving spell, a skill he had learned from the Supreme Mage's world. With his current template levels at 30%, he had unlocked nine spells, all at maximum proficiency. He intended to inscribe two of them onto Bonnie's hand: Protego, a powerful protection spell, and Diffindo, a severing spell.
Bonnie winced slightly as her hand tingled with energy. When he finished, a faint glowing mark appeared on her index and middle fingers.
"What's this?" she asked, inspecting the markings curiously.
Michael pointed at her index finger. "That's Protego. It will shield you from attacks when you invoke it. And this one," he said, tapping her middle finger, "is Diffindo. Say the word and channel your intent, and it will unleash a cutting spell."
Bonnie hesitated, then pointed her middle finger at a nearby tree and muttered, "Diffindo."
A silvery light shot from her hand, slicing cleanly through the trunk of the tree. The upper part toppled to the ground with a loud crash, leaving a smooth, precise cut.
"Whoa," Bonnie said, looking at her hand in amazement.
"Impressive," Stefan remarked, watching the display.
"It's a gift," Michael said with a faint smile. "Use it wisely."
Bonnie nodded as she looked at Michael. "This is an expensive gift," she said, her tone a mix of awe and gratitude.
Michael shrugged casually. "You deserved it," he replied, meeting her gaze with a faint smile.
"So, where do you guys live?" Stefan asked, curious.
Michael chuckled softly. "I don't have a permanent place," he admitted. "I wander around a lot. But... I do have a portable home of sorts."
He gestured toward an empty space, then muttered under his breath. Suddenly, a door materialized in the middle of the clearing, seemingly out of nowhere.
Michael stepped forward and opened it, revealing a warmly lit interior beyond. "Welcome to my home," he said, inviting everyone inside.
The group hesitated briefly before stepping through.
Inside, they found themselves in a big vast ancient rooms of some sort—Michael's portable sanctuary. This wasn't just any space; it was modeled after the Room of Requirement from Hogwarts Legacy. Now a skill in Michael's arsenal, it allowed him to summon a hidden door that led to a secure and private hideout, no matter where he was.
The interior was vast yet cozy, with various sections tailored for rest, research, and practice. Unlike the game version, this space was entirely empty of quests or items, functioning purely as a versatile refuge.
Michael turned to the group as they marveled at their surroundings. "It's portable, secret, and adaptable to whatever I need. Think of it as the ultimate safe house," he explained.
Bonnie traced her fingers over the elegant furnishings, clearly impressed. "This is incredible," she said.
Damon gave a low whistle. "You've got yourself quite the magical man cave here," he remarked with a intriguing look.
Michael grinned. "It's not much, but it's home."
Alaric eyed the vials lined up neatly on the shelf and asked, "What are these colorful vials?"
Michael walked over, picked up one of the vials, and handed it to Alaric. "Drink it, and you'll find out," he said with a faint smirk.
Alaric frowned, glancing skeptically at the liquid. "Is it safe?" he asked.
Michael nodded reassuringly. "Completely."
Hesitating only for a moment, Alaric uncorked the vial and drank the potion. At first, nothing seemed to happen, but then Stefan gasped.
"Where did he go?" Stefan asked, looking around frantically.
Alaric's voice sounded from nowhere. "I'm right here! Did something happen?"
Damon raised an eyebrow. "You vanished," he remarked.
Michael chuckled. "It's an invisibility potion. Its effects last for about a minute."
True to his word, after a moment, Alaric slowly reappeared, his expression a mix of wonder and surprise.
"What about the other vials?" Damon asked, pointing at the remaining potions on the shelf.
Michael gestured to a brown one. "This one temporarily turns your skin to stone, making you nearly indestructible," he explained. Then he pointed to a black vial. "This one creates a thundercloud around you. It attacks anyone who gets too close."
The group stared at him, impressed.
"You're incredibly powerful. I've never even heard of things like these," Stefan admitted.
Michael shrugged. "It's a special skill of mine. This place," he gestured to the vast room around them, "lets me store and create things like these potions. Originally, it was a space where I kept magical pets, but I guess they died after many years of neglect. I haven't been here in a while."
Stefan's eyes widened. "Magical pets?"
Michael nodded, a faint smile playing on his lips. "Yes, wonders of nature. They possess unique abilities, and some are incredibly powerful."
Damon crossed his arms, eyeing Michael skeptically. "You're being awfully generous with us, or should I say... lenient. What if I killed you and took all of this for myself?"
Stefan shot Damon a warning look, but Michael chuckled calmly. "You could try, but let me tell you—you're far too weak to even stand a chance."
Damon's expression darkened, his smirk fading. "Oh, is that so?" he said, taking a step forward. But suddenly, his body froze mid-motion.
"What... I can't move!" Damon growled, his eyes darting around in frustration.
Michael let out another laugh, his tone turning sharp. "That would be my Magic. Right now, I've locked you in place. If I wanted, I could slowly twist your head around until it snapped." His voice dropped, cold and serious. "This is your first and last warning, Damon. Next time you even think about testing me, remember—it won't cost me anything to put you in your place permanently."
" also if you are thinking of taking me in by surprise, I have marked you all, the moment any of you show any intent to harm me, well, the result will be your brains turning liquid and evaporating"
Damon's face paled as he stood frozen, unable to speak. After a tense moment, Michael released him, and Damon stumbled back slightly, regaining control of his body.
"I was just pulling your leg, man," Damon said quickly, forcing a nervous laugh.
Michael smirked but didn't reply, the faint glint in his eyes serving as a clear reminder of his capabilities.
