Marvel Transmigration: I Possessed Iron Man

Chapter 36: Chapter 36: Iron Man’s Soft Spot

Women can be dangerously seductive when they want to be especially beautiful women.

"If you miss this chance, there won't be another. Are you really not going to reconsider?" Natasha leaned over Aetheris's sleek, high-end office desk, somehow managing to squeeze out a bit of

Aetheris couldn't help but marvel at the natural gifts of Western women.

"I'm not looking for trouble. Just call Nick Fury. I know he has something for me."

"Tch, all bark and no bite. The legendary playboy turning over a new leaf—what a once-in-a-century sight." Dropping her flirtatious tone, Natasha pulled out her phone and dialed Fury.

"Hey, boss, I've been found out. He wants to meet you," she said, glancing at Aetheris.

"Okay, I'll let him know."

"The Director wants you to go to the donut shop. He'll meet you there."

"Why can't he come here? Why all the mystery?" Aetheris complained.

These so-called secret organizations in movies always had to be dramatic, like meeting in roadside diners, underground bunkers, or abandoned tunnels as if being mysterious was part of the job description.

They weren't fugitives. Was it so wrong to have a normal conversation in a nice, well-lit office?

"That's the Director's call. You can choose not to go."

"Alright, alright. If you don't mind, I'll be taking my Mark II Hellfire Armor."

Aetheris glanced at Natasha's expression.

"Whatever—everyone knows you're Iron Man now anyway," she replied with an eye roll.

Aetheris lay sprawled on the rooftop of "Randy's Donuts," munching on a freshly bought chocolate donut. The breeze was warm, the donut sweet, and the sunset washed the mountains in red and gold.

"Sir, please come down from the rooftop donut!" Nick Fury shouted from below.

Aetheris removed his sunglasses and peered down at him.

"Me? Are you talking to me?"

"Well, unless someone else is up there, I believe I am."

"Alright, alright." He flipped off the rooftop and landed beside him.

"I want to join your superhero boy band," he said casually.

"Heh. Weren't you always the lone wolf type? How did that turn out?" Fury asked, sipping his coffee.

"Uh... how it turned out?" Aetheris scratched his head, a little embarrassed. Everyone had abandoned him, what else could he say?

"Sorry, I don't want to offend, but should I be looking at your eye patch or your eye? I'm not even sure if you're real or just a hallucination."

"I'm real! The realest person you'll ever meet," Fury replied, reaching out toward Aetheris's neck.

"What the hell, man? We can talk, but no touching! I'm straight, alright?" Aetheris smacked Fury's hand away.

"Where are the employees here? No service at all—don't expect a tip from me."

At that moment, Natasha walked over in her sleek black bodysuit, curves outlined perfectly, a subtle wave of perfume trailing behind her.

"I've cleared the area. But you two shouldn't take too long."

"Wow, look who it is! My star employee, your top agent—the beautiful Ms. Natasha." Aetheris grinned.

"Tony, I believe you've already met. This is Agent Romanoff," Fury said, patting her on the shoulder.

"I'm just curious, how did you know Natasha worked for S.H.I.E.L.D.? And how did you know I was the Director?"

"That's all secondary. What I want to know is—where's the stuff my father, Howard, left for me?" Aetheris interrupted, though his eyes stayed fixed on Natasha.

Two people sat across from him—one, a bald man with a single eye and a rough edge; the other, a knockout beauty. Naturally, Aetheris focused on the latter.

"Natasha, you owe me an apology. You infiltrated Stark Industries without my permission, and that compromised my company's security."

"I think you should be thanking me. I exposed your vulnerabilities," Natasha countered, firm and unapologetic.

"My company's flaws are my concern. But I've spotted one flaw in you," Aetheris said with a smirk.

"Ahem, let's not go there in public," Fury interrupted, coughing awkwardly.

"No problem. Just say what you came to say. I've still got a date to catch." Aetheris's thoughts drifted to Betty Ross—last night's closeness still lingered, and the fire hadn't died.

"No, no, no. The real question is—what do you want me to do? You're a situation I now have to manage. And let's get one thing straight—my world doesn't revolve around you." Fury jabbed a finger toward him.

"OK, OK. Got it," Aetheris muttered. This one-eyed guy could talk a monk into madness.

"There's a bigger problem in the Southwest," Fury continued.

"Alright, alright, just cut to the point. What are you trying to say?"

"What I'm saying is, the palladium issue you're dealing with—I can help with that."

"It's not one of those injection things, is it?" Aetheris frowned, remembering how Stark had been jabbed repeatedly by Natasha in the movie.

"How did you know?"

Natasha suddenly stood, left, and returned with a syringe.

"This is a lithium-based injection we developed. It effectively neutralizes the blood toxicity caused by palladium radiation."

"If that's the solution, then no thanks." Aetheris waved her off. He had Hulk blood now—if even gamma radiation couldn't hurt him, palladium was like a paper cut.

But he did recall that in Iron Man 2, Stark had synthesized a new element that offered sustainable, long-lasting energy—that was what he needed.

Like choosing between an electric car with a 150-kilometer range and one that could go 1000—the decision was obvious.

"You sure? This is the best solution we've got," Fury said.

"Do you even know that the glowing thing in your chest is based on unfinished tech?" Fury added.

"That thing? Yeah, I know. There's an even bigger version at my company." Aetheris scoffed silently. It was a system gift—why ask him?

"No, you don't know. That's just a fraction of what your father intended. Back then, he wanted to launch a global energy revolution—something that would blow all competitors away. His dream was much grander. Compared to what he envisioned, even a nuclear reactor would look like a size-7 battery." Fury's voice carried the weight of ambition.

Aetheris paused in thought.

"It wasn't just him, right? Anton Vanko had a hand in it too?"
