Chapter 21: Chapter 21: The Serum Awakening and Bone Saw's Challenge
"Quick, give him mouth-to-mouth and CPR!"
Norman Osborn shoved Dr. Stromm aside roughly.
"I want Victor alive, not dead. If anything happens to him, this entire lab—and Oscorp Industries—will pay the price!" Norman barked.
"Y-Yes, of course!" Dr. Stromm stammered as he hurriedly opened the glass chamber, ignoring the lingering green mist inside.
He leaned down and pressed his mouth onto Victor's.
Just like that, poor Victor's first kiss was gone.
"Ughhh—!"
Victor's eyelids flew open. The heart monitor beside him spiked wildly, racing past 200 beats per minute.
Dr. Stromm fumbled with the metallic collar restraining him, unlocking it in a panic. Victor's eyes opened wide, his pupils eerily white as he stared at the doctor.
"You're awake!"
Norman and Dr. Stromm shouted at the same time, overwhelmed with relief and excitement.
"Hehehe…"
But Victor couldn't hear them. The serum coursing through his veins hadn't just healed his body—it had amplified his every desire a thousandfold.
Before, all he wanted was to cure his... unspeakable problem and enjoy life a little more.
Now? His body felt invincible—like he was eighteen again, in perfect peak condition.
And that wasn't all. The human enhancement serum had boosted his physical strength to eight times that of a normal man.
"I want women! I need a way out! I have to let it out!"
Victor's eyes glowed a haunting shade of green.
His gaze locked onto Norman Osborn and Dr. Stromm like a predator stalking prey.
"Victor, what are you doing?!" Dr. Stromm shouted, fear gripping his voice.
"I'm taking you!" Victor lunged, slamming Dr. Stromm to the ground. The sheer force left the doctor completely helpless.
"Ahhh—!" Dr. Stromm's scream echoed through the lab, his dignity utterly destroyed.
"This isn't good… I've got to get out of here before the drug wears off!" Norman panicked, turning to flee.
Bang!
He crashed into what felt like a solid wall of metal and stumbled backward, dazed.
"Stay back! Don't come any closer!"
"Ahhh—!"
Another scream followed, even sharper and more pitiful than the last.
Oddly… it had a melodic tone.
Just then, Norman's phone rang.
Caller ID: Harry.
🎵 The chrysanthemum withers, the ground is wounded, your smile fades to yellow, the flower blooms and hearts break… 🎵
The melancholic ringtone echoed eerily through the lab, repeating endlessly into the night.
Meanwhile, in Queens, New York — Underground Boxing Arena!
The crowd roared like thunder.
"Bone Saw! Bone Saw! Bone Saw!"
High in the stands, Peter Parker strained to see through the sea of bobbing heads.
The arena felt more like a chaotic street festival—drums pounding, firecrackers bursting, red flags waving, people packed shoulder-to-shoulder.
Peter was nearly shoved under a table by the swelling crowd!
At the center of the chaos stood a twenty-square-meter boxing ring.
Inside, a burly man in overalls lifted another massive brute, tossing him through the air like he was pulling up a tree.
Thud!
Even from a distance, Peter could feel the ring tremble from the impact.
The overalls-clad fighter climbed the corner ropes, leapt high into the air—
Crack!
His flying guillotine drop crushed the camo-clad opponent's throat, ending the match instantly.
Blood. Brutality. Pure adrenaline.
The crowd went berserk. A few wild girls even started tearing off their clothes!
"One! Two! Three!"
"It's over!"
"The winner—Bone Saw!"
The striped-shirt referee declared loudly.
"Raaaghh—!"
Bone Saw raised his arms in triumph, basking in the roar of the crowd.
"Ladies and gentlemen!"
"Let's hear it for Bone Saw McGuire!"
The cheers in the New York arena shook the walls. Some fans even brought silver saws as props, waving them frantically.
"The prize for this match—three thousand dollars!"
"Who's got the guts to last three minutes with Bone Saw?" the flashy host shouted, dressed in a gleaming gold suit.
The hulking man in the tank top slumped in one corner to rest, while four scantily-clad blonde women massaged his muscles.
Peter Parker pressed his lips together and made his way toward the registration booth.
Even from afar, he could still hear the booming voice of the emcee:
"Who?"
"I know who!"
With dramatic flair, the gold-suited host pointed theatrically toward the crowd. "The Flying Dutchman!"
The registration area was packed. Peter squeezed through the dozen or so people ahead of him.
Each one was a towering brute, easily over a hundred kilograms of pure muscle.
When Peter finally reached the front, he was greeted by a stern-looking Black woman.
"This isn't a lightweight match, kid."
"Next!"
The woman sighed, wondering when New Yorkers had gotten so desperate for money.
"Don't underestimate a broke young man!"
"Fortunes rise and fall—today might be my turn!"
"I'm signing up!" Peter declared dramatically.
The woman shook her head with a smirk.
"Fine. But let me be clear. If you get hurt out there, the New York Wrestling League isn't responsible for squat!"
"Life and death are fate's domain, wealth and honor lie with the heavens!" Peter quipped shamelessly.
"Uh-huh… certified lunatic," the woman muttered, scribbling his name on the list.
"Good luck. You'll need it. Next!"
Peter received his number tag and headed backstage, his excitement growing.
Meanwhile, Bone Saw had already grabbed the Flying Dutchman, tossing him out of the ring like a rag doll.
Crash!
The Dutchman smashed through a sturdy wooden table outside the ring. No need for medics—his bones were definitely broken.
"The winner—Bone Saw!"
The strength gap was undeniable. Challenger after challenger met the same fate—broken bones or worse.
The New York crowd reached a fever pitch.
The gold-suited host shouted over the chaos:
"Do you all want something even more thrilling?!"
"Yes!"
"Then…"
Before he could finish, the mic was snatched from him by the muscular fighter in the tank top.
"Bone Saw is ready!"
The host retrieved the mic with a nervous laugh.
"The next victim, please step forward!"
"If anyone survives three minutes in the cage with Bone Saw, the three thousand dollar prize is theirs…"
As he spoke, the host slowly backed up until he bumped into the giant screen beside the ring.
