Chapter 275: Chapter 275: The Disappearance of Jane Foster
The Dark Elves led the way ahead, while Alan and his team followed closely behind. In front of them lay the ruins of what appeared to be an altar, with the ruins culminating in the entrance to a dark cave.
"This is it!" Alan exclaimed, recognizing the location as the very spot where Jane Foster appeared in the Marvel Universe. The scene was identical.
Several Dark Elf sorcerers had already entered the cave. Alan stepped forward and said, "Quick, let's go in and take them out now!"
Hearing Alan's command, Gwen immediately shot out a webline, pulling herself to the ceiling of the cave as she silently climbed inside. Meanwhile, Alan instructed Wanda to stay outside and protect Red Queen. Despite Red Queen's vibranium-crafted body, Alan couldn't shake his worry.
Drawing his Aurora Sword, Alan dashed into the cave. The Dark Elves ahead, hearing a sound, turned around with puzzled expressions.
"Who is that? Who is he?"
The Dark Elves couldn't recognize Alan, and he wasn't in the mood to explain. Without a word, he hurled his Aurora Sword, striking one of the Dark Elf captains. The golden blade pierced through the captain's body, silencing him before he could even cry out. He fell lifelessly to the ground.
The remaining Dark Elves looked at one another in shock before scattering.
Alan activated his Lantern Ring, summoning a long chain to retrieve the Aurora Sword. With the ring's power, he didn't even need to approach his enemies—he could control the sword from afar.
From her vantage point atop the cave, Gwen glanced down at Alan. The two shared a tacit understanding. Before Alan made his next move, Gwen shot out a series of webs, ensnaring the unsuspecting Dark Elves and binding their bodies tightly.
Taking advantage of the opportunity Gwen had created, Alan manipulated the chain with his Lantern Ring to swing the Aurora Sword, cutting down several Dark Elves.
One of the Dark Elf sorcerers, seeing his comrades slain, emitted a burst of energy that melted the webs binding him. Freed, he pulled a horn from his belt and blew into it. The sound echoed loudly through the cave, amplified as it traveled outward.
"He's calling for reinforcements!" Alan shouted, rushing toward the Dark Elf sorcerer with wind-like speed.
With a swift strike of the Aurora Sword, Alan pinned the sorcerer to the ground. Turning to Gwen, he said, "We need to find Jane quickly! If Malekith arrives, we might not get out of here."
Gwen flipped gracefully from the ceiling, landing beside Alan. Her black battle suit seemed to enhance her strength and agility.
The horn's call had also reached Red Queen and Wanda outside the cave. They rushed in, with Wanda asking nervously, "What happened?"
Alan continued moving deeper into the cave as he replied, "Wanda, stay here and keep watch. If the Dark Elves approach, alert me immediately."
Wanda nodded, standing guard with Red Queen as they monitored the cave entrance.
Inside, Alan and Gwen found an assortment of items that seemed out of place—objects that only existed on Earth. Among them was the stone Alan had tossed into the spatial distortion back at the abandoned factory, and even a car had somehow materialized here.
Alan shouted, "Jane! I'm here to save you!"
The pitch-black cave offered no response. The unsettling silence made Alan uneasy.
Where was she?
Why wasn't Jane here?
Where had she gone?
No one could answer Alan's questions.
Just then, Wanda's voice called from behind, warning that the Dark Elves were closing in fast. Alan had no choice but to order a temporary retreat.
As he turned to leave, his eyes caught sight of something carved into the ground.
