Marvel: Trading with Worlds

Chapter 186: C135(1)

The trading system was operational again. Kain opened the panel and began searching for "next world."

Immediately, glimpses of the next world appeared: people in suits and leather collars walking down the streets of a highly modernized city. However, the scenes didn't provide any distinctive clues.

After watching the "trailer" offered by the trading system, Kain couldn't deduce which world it was.

A modern city with many people might suggest a market for his serum, but with such sparse information, he hesitated to act rashly.

What if the city harbored unexpected dangers—or even Satan himself?

"Giving up is not an option. I've only encountered three trading worlds so far, and if there's something valuable in this one, I can't afford to miss it," Kain reasoned.

Ultimately, he decided to go. With his current strength, he could handle many dangers. As long as he didn't face invisible curses or outrageously powerful gods, he believed he was prepared.

Against gods like those from Asgard, Kain felt he could at least put up a fight.

"Speaking of curses," he thought, "I should visit the wizarding world to stock up on anti-curse potions, alchemical items, and maybe even some rest. While I'm at it, I'll breed my own fire dragon."

After taking a few days to relax, Kain's list of tasks grew. His involvement with the Oscorp Group kept him busy, forcing him to decline a campus party invitation from Carl.

For nearly two months, Kain worked with General Ross and Betty to finalize the necessary paperwork.

At last, he officially became the chairman of the Oscorp Group. Although the board of directors remained, Kain now held absolute authority over the company.

He renamed the group "Pent Group" and began planning to acquire the shares held by other directors. This task he delegated to Betty and Laura.

Alongside the acquisition, he merged his biopharmaceutical company, the biological research center, and Umbrella into the Pent Group.

Betty handled interpersonal relationships, leveraging her position as the daughter of military figurehead Thaddeus Ross.

Her connections gave her a natural advantage in smoothing out negotiations. Meanwhile, Laura was tasked with overseeing the group's reorganization.

Laura was thrilled with her appointment. The opportunity to become the CEO of a major corporation left her ecstatic—almost overwhelmed with emotion.

Kain noticed her enthusiasm, noting that although her experience didn't quite match the role, the Chakra seal on her body guaranteed her loyalty.

To support Laura, Kain planned to bring in additional skilled professionals, allowing her to gradually grow into her new responsibilities.

Additionally, Kain had plans for the Vanko father-and-son duo. He intended to establish a new energy department within the group.

One of them would oversee the research and development of new energy weapons, while the other focused on clean energy innovation.

Once Kain secured the Oscorp Group, he handed the super soldier serum to General Ross.

Ross and his associates had been too impatient to wait, which explained why they so quickly expedited the "big cake" that was the Oscorp Group into Kain's hands.

During this time, General Ross was still reluctant to give up on Hulk. He repeatedly tried to persuade Kain to study the source of Hulk's immense power, hoping it might lead to the creation of a third type of super soldier.

He even inquired about how much damage Hulk had suffered during his clash with General's forces. Ross speculated that harnessing this power could result in something far superior to the super soldier serum.

But Kain firmly refused. Hulk was a ticking time bomb, and any experimentation with his abilities would require Kain's personal oversight, which could risk Hulk breaking free.

The Pent Group had just been established, and Kain preferred to focus on its growth rather than invite disaster.

The company was preparing to launch several groundbreaking products, including a recovery potion and three specific drugs for treating terminal illnesses.

For this, Kain felt a rare moment of gratitude toward Hydra. Without their influence on the FDA, these products wouldn't have reached the market so quickly.

Of course, the biopharmaceutical company's profits wouldn't all stay with Kain. Hydra held a 27% stake in the company and would share in the dividends.

With these drugs projected to generate hundreds of billions of dollars in revenue, Hydra couldn't resist the temptation.

Initially, they had tried to demand a larger share, but Kain's firm stance forced them to back down.

Shortly after beginning his collaboration with Hydra, Kain turned his attention to Sokovia, where he recalled the Maximoff twins—Wanda and Pietro.

Both were born with latent abilities, which could be further enhanced through exposure to the Mind Stone.

Although Kain initially wanted Betty to handle the matter, her schedule was packed. Instead, he dispatched Jayne and an Umbrella team to Sokovia to locate the twins and bring them back.

If Kain's memory was correct, Wanda and Pietro should be about thirteen years old now. Recruiting them would be a significant win: one was destined to become the Scarlet Witch, and the other a speedster of immense power.

Jayne, the third of Kain's subordinates to receive the super soldier serum, had proven his capabilities. Kain had already begun strengthening Umbrella personnel but didn't intend to rely solely on the super soldier serum.

He planned to select certain individuals to receive a serum combining the Extremis virus with the genes of magical creatures.

For instance, using genes from the Invisible Beast could grant the ability to become invisible, though it was unclear if clothing would also turn invisible.
