Chapter 25: Chapter 24: First Omniversal Recruitment Drive
Hello my dear readers, welcome to the next chapter of Tony Starks adventure. This movie world he travels to is a bit older, from 2006. This means that most of you were small children when it came out since most Webovel readers are between the ages of 18-21 (data I saw from a poll). It has one of my favorite actress in it which just makes me giddy with excitement. Also, this is the last time in the next 160 chapters where a world lasts only one chapter. His travels while not as frequent as before will last longer from now on. I'd like to first thank a new powerstone giver LeipeMocro101 and then give a big thank you to sbbd and rex_of_dreams who consistently throw 3 stones each my way on a regular basis. My novel, which is only a couple days old is still somehow relevant on the Webnovel rankings. I was sure that after Sunday it would drop out of the top 200. Clearly, I was wrong and I have all of you readers to thank for that (author gives his readers an obligatory a bow). Lastly, do any of you guys have recommendations for good newer Webnovel fanfics? I am struggling to find a quality novel. I know most of you are lurkers but if you feel so inclined please drop a comment with your suggestion. Now enough of my rant, enjoy the new chapter, Chappy Jr.

The new and improved Tony Stark appeared in a dark alley, his boots echoing softly against the concrete as he stepped forward. The air smelled stale, tinged with the acrid scent of industrial waste. He pulled his coat tighter around him as he took in his surroundings. The towering skyscrapers and neon signs screamed futuristic, but the people walking the streets all wore masks. It sent a chill down his spine.
"Nexus, hack into the local networks. Find out where we are and what year it is," Tony commanded his floating AI companion.
Within seconds, Nexus responded. "Master, according to available data, we are in a world where the Hemophage Virus outbreak occurred years ago. The current year is 2074. Society has adapted, and a totalitarian regime is enforcing extreme measures to control the infected."
Tony's brain whirred. "Hemophage hmmm… isn't that from the movie Ultraviolet? You know, the one with futuristic vampires? But the movie was set in 2078, so this must be four years before the start of the plot. This world has insane tech, and that means one thing—loot."
He pondered for a moment before snapping his fingers. "Right. Priority number one is finding Violet Song Jat Shariff who was played by Milla Jovovich in the movie. She's the main character, a badass with superhuman abilities and heavy maternal instincts. If I can recruit her and Garth, the scientist obsessed with her, I'll have access to their technology. This includes flat-space storage tech, advanced bioengineering, printable paper thin phones, holographic technology, autonomous cars, hell, maybe even their gravity belts which let them run on vertical surfaces."
Nexus's eye glowed as he processed the request. "Searching for active conflicts… There is a skirmish happening nearby. Multiple Hemophages engaged in combat with government enforcers. The largest battle is occurring three blocks away. High probability that Violet is involved."
Tony smirked. "Then that's where we're going."
They made their way through the streets, sticking to the alleyways. As they approached the battlefield, Tony spotted figures darting between abandoned vehicles, their movements too fast for ordinary humans. Gunfire echoed through the streets, and from the looks of it, the Hemophages were wiping the floor with the soldiers clad in sleek glass-like armor.
Tony stepped forward confidently and then arrogantly called out, "Hey, I am the great Tony Stark! Will you be my woman? I mean, my bodyguard for life?"
A figure with long, flowing black hair stopped mid-action, her eyes narrowing as she turned toward him. Violet.
"Kid, where are your parents?" she asked, her voice firm but not unkind.
Tony put on his best kicked-puppy look. "They're not in this world anymore."
Violet hesitated, then sighed. "Kid, you can't be seen running with us. Go home."
Tony turned up the dramatics, letting his eyes shimmer with just the right amount of tears. "You're going to leave me, too? Just like my parents?"
Violet's maternal instincts kicked in. "Fine. Come with us, but stay close."
They retreated from the battlefield, heading to Garth's hideout—an unassuming shipping container that utilized flat space technology making it significantly larger on the inside, which was hiding a laboratory filled with state of the art scientific equipment. As they entered, Tony wasted no time. "I want you two to work for me."
Garth snorted, amused. "Alright kid, why would we do that?"
Tony's smirk widened. "Because I can cure the Hemophage Virus—for you and Violet. You'll still be superhuman, but without the drawbacks. Enhanced strength, agility, and intelligence without the need for blood. In exchange, you work for me and join my Fortress of Science."
Garth crossed his arms. "Kid, you're crazy."
Tony answered by lifting a giant piece of machinery with his hands before teleporting to the other side of the room in the blink of an eye.
Violet and Garth both stared in stunned silence.
"Now that I have your attention…" Tony grinned. "I want you both to come back to my world with me. Garth, your knowledge of bioengineering and technology from this world is invaluable. You've got flat-space storage, advanced holographic imaging, and autonomous vehicles just to name a few things—stuff that makes my world look like the Stone Age. I want it all."
Violet narrowed her eyes. "And what about the other Hemophages? Are you just going to leave them?"
Tony nodded. "The SSS and 24th chromosome, both of which have the ability to cure and resist diseases, are not available for mass production. But if we study how they interact with the Hemophage Virus, we might be able to develop a broader cure. Trust me on this, this is the best option to save your world."
Violet hesitated before finally pulling out her phone and calling Nerva, the Hemophage leader to see if he wanted in. When she hung up, her face was upset. "He refused treatment. He said he'd rather die than go back to being human."
Tony sighed. "Then we focus on those who want redemption. We cure you and Garth first, gather data, see how the serums interact with the Hemophage virus and work from there. Deal?"
Garth exchanged a glance with Violet before nodding. "Fine. But I'm taking all my equipment with me."
"That can be arranged," Tony said with a grin. "My recent power upgrade lets me teleport larger objects. I'll take everything back to my 'Fortress of Science' piece by piece."
Within a day, the lab was stripped clean.
Back at the fortress, Tony prepped the Vita-Ray Chamber for Violet and Garth. They underwent the SSS and 24th chromosome treatment, emerging as enhanced but fully human beings. Violet stepped out, touching her belly as tears welled in her eyes.
"I… I can have children again," she whispered, her voice breaking.
The room fell into stunned silence.
Tony, ever the tactful one, cleared his throat and gave her a hug awkwardly. "There, there. Don't worry—we have excellent maternity leave benefits."
Garth chuckled while Violet wiped her tears and gave Tony an exasperated smile. "You're impossible."
Tony smirked. "Welcome to the team."
