MARVEL: TOAA

Chapter 22: Chapter 22: The Death of Magneto

Amid the chaos, Magneto, though gravely wounded, mustered a faint movement of his hand.

No one paid him much attention at first. Unfortunately for him, Ravion's body contained no metal, making him immune to Magneto's powers. Faced with his imminent demise, Magneto conceived a desperate plan—a final act of defiance.

His eyes landed on Reina, who stood beside John.

John, preoccupied with Mystique and Sebastian Shaw, failed to notice Magneto's subtle movements.

"What is he trying to do?" Daredevil muttered, his heightened senses picking up the faint stirrings of Magneto's power.

The next moment, Reina's body jerked unnaturally. She staggered forward, her arm flinging a punch directly toward Sebastian Shaw.

Around her wrist was a metal bracelet—an intricate piece John had created using his telekinesis, adorned with miniature stars and moons. A thoughtful gift meant to symbolize their bond was now the tool of Magneto's final gambit.

"Reina!"

John's voice cracked with panic as he realized what was happening. He reached out with his psychic energy, but Magneto's magnetic field held Reina firmly in its grip.

Sebastian, ever the opportunist, raised a glowing hand, energy brimming in his palm.

"Bang!"

Before John could react, Reina was hurled backward by the explosion of Sebastian's counterattack. John dived to catch her, the two tumbling across the ground as smoke and debris swirled around them.

"Reina, are you okay? Talk to me!"

Reina coughed violently, blood staining her lips and dripping onto her torn clothing. Despite the obvious pain, she forced a weak smile. "I'm fine... don't worry."

John cradled her, guilt clawing at his chest. "I should've stopped this. I should've seen it coming."

His divine energy poured into her, working to heal her wounds. Though his power had remarkable restorative properties, he could only do so much in the moment.

Reina's hand twitched, and John noticed a small vortex of air forming on her palm.

"Is this… your superpower?" he asked, astonished.

"I think so," she replied weakly. "I can control air currents, but I don't know how to use it properly yet."

She explained that in the heat of the moment, her latent mutant ability had activated. The airflow shield she'd created had saved her from being torn apart, though the shock of the explosion had still left her badly injured.

"You dared to hurt Reina!"

Ravion's booming voice filled the battlefield as he roared at Magneto. His rage unleashed a devastating sonic attack.

Magneto convulsed violently, blood and bile spilling from his mouth as the sound waves tore through his frail body. His eyes fluttered shut, and his breathing became shallow.

"Bang!"

The Red Devil, Azazel, ever loyal to Sebastian, teleported beside his leader to shield him from the chaos.

Riptide, seeing the opportunity, conjured a storm in his hands and hurled it toward Mystique and her allies, reigniting the skirmish.

"Return to me!"

John's psychic field strained against Magneto's magnetic pull as he desperately tried to retrieve Reina. But Sebastian was faster, his energy-charged strike hitting its mark before John could intervene.

"Enough!" John roared, his voice reverberating like thunder.

All eyes turned to him as he stepped forward, his presence commanding silence. He gently placed Reina on the ground before addressing Ravion. "Leave him to me."

Ravion hesitated before stepping back, his crimson eyes fading to blue.

John crouched beside Magneto, who was barely clinging to life. "I understand your pain, Erik. I sympathize with your story—but I cannot forgive your actions."

He reached into Magneto's pocket and pulled out a single coin. It was the same coin Sebastian had used to kill Erik's mother, the catalyst of Magneto's unrelenting hatred.

"I curse you," John whispered.

The wind around them picked up, howling like a chorus of tormented souls. John's divine power surged as he channeled it into a dark and binding incantation.

"Your soul will find no peace in heaven or hell. No dimension will accept you. This coin will be your prison, and with every collision, it will tear your soul apart for eternity."

As he spoke, a black mist began to seep from Magneto's body. His screams echoed across the battlefield as the mist coiled into the coin, which glowed ominously in John's hand.

"Ugh… no! Please!" Magneto's pleas turned to guttural cries, but John remained resolute.

With a final crackle of divine energy, the ritual was complete. Magneto's lifeless body slumped to the ground, his soul forever trapped within the cursed coin.

John turned to the stunned onlookers, holding the coin aloft. "This is the price of attacking my family."

Silence reigned as the implications of his words sank in. For John, his family was his sanctuary, and anyone who threatened it would face the wrath of a god.
