Chapter 11: N06 - X-MEN
After the rewards were distributed, Magneto felt a lightness flow through his body, as if a heavy burden had been lifted. Then, everything around him vanished into silence and darkness.
But this transformation… could not compare to what he had seen in Captain Marvel's enhancement scene in the Marvel List videos.
Had he not been completely sure that his power had significantly increased, he would have thought the Marvel List had tricked him and stolen his rightful reward.
He closed his eyes and focused all his senses, carefully sensing his energy. The conclusion came swiftly.
First: Yes, his power had increased. His control over magnetism had become smoother and more intuitive—almost like an extension of his will.
Second: This enhancement was not the revolutionary transformation he had expected.
"What a shame…" he muttered, sighing.
He clearly remembered how Captain Marvel had practically become a goddess after her enhancement. He had believed his own power-up would produce a similarly earth-shattering effect.
But… this was it?
Elsewhere, with the Brotherhood appearing on the list, unease and discontent spread among ordinary people in the world of mutants. Magneto's reputation, after all, was infamously dark.
A dangerous terrorist, now enhanced? What could be worse?
Fortunately, ordinary people didn't have the right to comment in the inter-world chat channel.
"If the Brotherhood is in seventh place, then X-Men must be six," Isaac Leclerc said as he reviewed the rankings.
The power gap between the Brotherhood and the X-Men was clear. The Brotherhood amassed numbers, while the X-Men gathered elites.
Naturally, the X-Men ranked higher, especially with the claim that one of the strongest mutants had yet to awaken.
[Rank six in the Marvel List of Strongest Organizations – X-Men]
Organization Overview:The X-Men were founded by Professor X and Magneto to oppose the Hellfire Club. Their goal is to use supernatural powers to confront threats. Later, due to ideological conflict, Magneto left the organization.
Then, the Marvel List began broadcasting an introduction video for the X-Men.
Wolverine, with powers similar to Sabretooth but with a metallic skeleton. Cyclops, whose eyes unleash destructive laser beams. Storm, who commands the weather.
Then came Colossus, with a fully metallic body, and Beast, known for his genius intellect and massive physique. And finally, Professor X, who possesses the most powerful mind in the world, is capable of controlling the thoughts of every human on Earth.
And finally… Phoenix Harp, said to be capable of destroying the world, though she has not yet awakened.
Upon seeing this extraordinary lineup, Nick Fury's eyes welled up with tears of envy.
Had he possessed such a team, he would've formed the Avengers long ago. Perhaps even his S.H.I.E.L.D. team could've stormed into the top three of the Marvel List with one blow.
And it wasn't just Nick. Organizations from other worlds paused their operations to watch the video.
[Unknown Entity: If Phoenix awakens… we must accelerate Protocol Omega.]
On Earth, some ignorant people had already begun worshiping the girl in the video as a goddess.
Wherever she walked, ash followed. Such terrifying power.
"Mutants… what an extraordinary race!" Whitehall murmured greedily. "Far stronger than non-powered humans, especially that girl Jean. If only I could capture her…"
As for Magneto, he stared deeply at Phoenix as she appeared at the end of the video.
Even through a screen, he could feel her overwhelming presence.
"Charles is committing a crime! Wasting such a legendary talent!" he shouted, slamming the table.
If Jean had been trained by him, would mutants still be in this pitiful state?
[Choose one of the three ranking rewards:]
Superpower Enhancement Card + Parallel Universe Access Card
Inheritance of a powerful warrior from another world + Parallel Universe Access Card
Side-Effect Removal Card for a superpower + Parallel Universe Access Card
Professor X studied the options intently. He wasn't the type to choose blindly.
Magneto's experience had taught him that physical enhancements weren't everything. His own mind was already one of the strongest—enhancing it further was unnecessary.
While he hesitated, an unexpected reminder came from Isaac Leclerc:
[Isaac Leclerc: @Professor X, choose the third option. Jean needs a card to remove the side effects of her power. As you age, you won't be able to suppress the Phoenix Force forever.]
Professor X raised his brows in surprise. That reminder was precise… yet Isaac clearly didn't belong to his world.
How did he know about Phoenix?
Still, his words made sense. Jean did need that card—or else she was a ticking time bomb ready to destroy the world.
[Professor X: I choose the third option.]
Once selected, the Marvel List screen turned black.
Isaac Leclerc exhaled in relief. He had just saved Jean from a potential catastrophe.
And why did he help her? Because of one of his traits.
[Trait – Harem King]
Effect:Females with superpowers will be more attracted to you and develop a favorable impression. If a deep bond is formed, there is a random chance to copy their superpowers!
It was a reward he received during last year's registration. It seemed ridiculous at the time, but it turned out to be surprisingly effective.
At first, he regretted it. After all, there weren't many superpowered women in the Avengers world. Captain Marvel was a rare gem.
The problem was… she was now somewhere deep in the universe. Unreachable.
But now, with the Marvel List, everything had changed.
New opportunities had emerged, and the Phoenix Force was now one of his top targets.
[Professor X: Thanks for the reminder. Jean is no longer a threat.]
[Jean: @Isaac Leclerc, thank you. If I ever get the chance, I'll repay the favor.]
[Isaac Leclerc: You're welcome. You're kind-hearted. You shouldn't have to suffer because of your power.]
But Isaac didn't think much of their gratitude. He knew all too well—every gift from fate came with a hidden price.
And his had only just begun.

Who is that mysterious organization?
Could it be the Watchers or the Illuminati or...
From DC, perhaps?
The story is still unclear, the list is just the beginning, a way to enhance individuals' powers. And don't forget to drop your Power Stones along the way and add the novel to your library! enjoy!
By the way, I've increased the chapter length to around 1,000 words. From now on, there will be 3,000 words daily.
