Asta scratched the back of his head, expression confused. "Uh… trade? What kinda trade?"

Nova's lips curled into a slow, dangerous grin. "Glad you asked, kid."

From his system inventory, a ripple of space twisted around Nova's hand before a black and crimson mass of shifting energy emerged, about the size of a melon.

It pulsed softly.

"I call this the Ven-Drive. This is what I am gonna trade Demon Dweller Sword with. Watch."

The blob shifted into a sleek, gun-like form. Nova turned away and fired.

It writhed for a moment before settling into a sleek, sharp-edged shape — a dark, almost alien-looking firearm with red mana lines pulsating along its barrel.

A bullet shot out, piercing five trees clean through.

Asta's jaw dropped. "No way!"

Nova smirked," It was magic bullet. Ven-Drive absorbing mana from surroundings and store it. Altough it's capacity and efficiency isn't equal to Demon Dweller but it can still fire ten thousand shots on full power.

Also it have various other functions, watch."

Then, with a thought, it morphed into a sword. Nova moved in a flash, slicing a nearby tree like it was paper.

Asta practically vibrated with excitement.

"And it can shift into a shield too. In fact, it can shift to every damn weapon you can think of. And if you bond it to your grimoire, it'll pick up anti-magic traits, meaning the bullets you fire will have anti magic properties."

Asta reached for it, grinning. "Alright! Let's see what you can do."

Suddenly, he stopped and asked," What is anti-magic?"

Asta reached for the weapon, grinning like a kid on a sugar high. "Alright! Let's see what you can do!"

But then — he paused, frowning, scratching the back of his head again.

"Uh… wait a sec… what's anti-magic?"

Nova blinked, then snorted, half-amused, half-exasperated. "Seriously?!"

Well lets be merciful on this kid, afterall it's only been a day since he got his grimoire.

Asta grinned sheepishly. "Well… I mean… it's just the stuff my sword does, right? Makes magic go poof."

Nova just smiled," It's very similar. I will give more information about anti-magic during our future trade. But for now, just think that anti-magic is your grimoire special magic."

Despite being confused, Asta nodded and then kicked out the confusion out of his mind and looked eagerly at Ven-Drive.

Nova smiled at his eager looks and asked," So wanna trade?"

Despite his eagerness, Asta calmed down and started thinking.

Despite his eagerness, Asta calmed down and rubbed his chin, a rare flicker of thoughtfulness crossing his face.

"Hmm… so let me get this straight — you wanna trade that sword," Asta pointed to the Demon Dweller Sword buried in the grass, "for this super awesome weapon-thingy you made?"

Nova raised a brow, impressed the kid actually slowed down to think. "Yup. Simple as that."

Asta frowned, glancing between the two. He might've been reckless, but he wasn't an idiot. "Why? If that sword's so good, and you already have it, then why even show it to me and offer a trade? Wouldn't it be more beneficial to you to keep both the sword and this Ven-Drive thing?"

Nova just chuckled softly, shaking his head. "If things were that easy, kid… no need to dwell on that part. Let's stick to the point — do you want to trade or not?"

Still, Asta didn't immediately agree. He glanced down at the Demon Dweller Sword, then at the sleek, pulsing Ven-Drive in Nova's hand, clearly torn.

Seeing the hesitation, Nova grinned. "Since you're hesitating, let me tell you more about what this baby can do."

Asta's eyes lit up at the word more. "Like what?"

Nova's grin widened. "You've seen gun mode, sword mode, and shield mode. It can absorb mana from the surroundings, store it, and fire off magic bullets or slashes. And here's the best part — if you bond it to your grimoire, it'll slowly start picking up anti-magic properties too. Not as strong as your swords, but way more versatile."

He leaned in slightly, voice dropping conspiratorially. "And between you and me, it's made from something called nanite-based tech. You probably won't get the details, but in simple terms — you can turn it into pretty much anything you imagine. Watch this."

Nova gave the Ven-Drive a casual thought, and in the blink of an eye, it morphed into a spoon.

Asta blinked. "Huh?"

Then it shifted into a sturdy baseball bat. Then a long, gleaming spear. Then a simple wooden stick.

Asta's jaw dropped lower with each transformation.

"If you train with it enough, you can even use it to create a full suit of armor — or a jetpack."

"ARMOR?!" Asta practically shouted.

Nova smirked and gave him a wink. "Yup."

"Wait, wait — what jetpack?!"

Nova just grinned wider, and the Ven-Drive shimmered again, shifting into a compact, sleek black jetpack with crimson runes pulsing along its surface. Nova strapped it onto his back, and before Asta could say another word — whoooosh — Nova launched himself into the air, leaving a trail of compressed wind behind him.

Asta's eyes went saucer-wide. "NO. FREAKIN'. WAY!"

Hovering a few meters above the ground, Nova called down, "So, kid — you wanna trade now? Or should ....?"

Nova didn't get to finish, as Asta was practically bouncing in place now, excitement radiating off him like heatwaves. "Deal! I'll trade! Gimme that thing!!"

Nova landed lightly, his grin sharp and ear to ear. "Smart choice, squirt."

With a wave of his hand, a ripple of spatial energy twisted before him — and a neatly rolled scroll appeared in midair, tied with a thin, crimson thread. Nova caught it and unrolled it with a flick of his wrist.

The parchment shimmered faintly with mana inscriptions, its text crisp and unnervingly formal for something that looked like it belonged in a wizard's court.

SIGNED,

NOVA

ASTA

----

Asta squinted at the writing. "Uh… so where do I sign?"

"Right here, kid." Nova pointed to the empty line beside Asta's name, handing him a slim, mana-inked quill.

Asta awkwardly grabbed the quill, holding it like it might bite him, and scrawled his name in big, wobbly letters. The moment he finished the last stroke of the "A," the contract glowed softly and disintegrated into motes of light.

A pulse of warmth rippled through the clearing.

Nova felt it immediately — that subtle pressure the Demon Dweller Sword had exerted on him since yesterday vanished like mist under sunlight. He reached down and picked up the sword effortlessly, no rejection, no resistance. It was like claiming a regular blade now.

A satisfied smirk tugged at his lips. "Perfect."

He slipped the Demon Dweller Sword back into his system inventory with a thought.

"Alright, kid — let's teach you how to bond with that Ven-Drive before you accidentally turn it into a toaster or a chamber pot or something worse."

Asta cackled. "Man, this is the best day ever!"

Nova held the Ven-Drive out to him. The sleek black-and-red device pulsed softly, almost like it was alive and waiting.

"Alright, listen up. Hold it with both hands. Focus on your grimoire — picture its energy, that weird anti-magic haze it gives off when you use your sword. Pull that power toward the Ven-Drive, and let the two resonate."

Asta blinked. "Uh… okay. Lemme try."

He gripped the Ven-Drive with both hands, scrunching up his face like he was trying to lift a mountain with his brain. His grimoire fluttered open beside him, its pages glowing with that eerie, blackish anti-magic aura.

Slowly, tendrils of that dark energy reached out from the grimoire, slithering toward the Ven-Drive like ink spreading through water. The device hummed, its crimson lines flickering for a second — then stabilizing into a steady glow.

Nova watched closely as a thin black pattern, reminiscent of anti-magic veins, etched itself along the Ven-Drive's surface.

Bonding complete.

A soft ding echoed in Nova's mind.

He smiled, satisfied. "Good. It's yours now. Try turning it into something."

Asta grinned, sweat beading on his forehead. "Okay… sword mode!"

The Ven-Drive shimmered and extended into a sleek black blade with faint crimson glimmers, not quite as bulky as his Demon Slayer Sword but just as menacing.

"HELL YEAH!" Asta whooped, swinging it once through the air, slicing a nearby rock in half.

Nova chuckled. "Congrats, kid. Now you've got two anti-magic weapons, and that one's a lot more fun to mess with."

"Dude, you're the best!" Asta cheered, still admiring the weapon.

Nova just smiled at him. Thankfully, the trade was successful.
