Chapter 39: Chapter 39: Did I Drink the Water of Rejuvenation?

After passing through the three-headed dog and the Devil's Snare, Noah and his party suddenly arrived in a place that looked no different from a basement.

It was hard to imagine that they were on the eighth floor, and yet, instead of a normal unused space, there was such a large chamber!

Clearly, someone had used space magic to transform this area.

In the wizarding world, space magic and time magic have long been subjects of study and experimentation.

In particular, research on space magic is quite extensive. Noah knew that space magic had already been used as far back as World War II.

Wasn't the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA) in Fantastic Beasts hidden within a magical expansion of space?

In the future, various space-related magical products would appear, and Noah was highly interested in them.

As for time magic?

Perhaps due to its many uncertainties—such as distinctions between higher and lower dimensions—many aspects of it couldn't be fully explained through either physics or magic.

And right now, the only known practical application of time magic was the Time-Turner.

"Forget it, why am I thinking so much? Whether it's space magic or time magic, both are fascinating," Noah thought with a smile.

Indeed, compared to elemental magic, space and time magic had a unique allure.

However, the entry requirements for mastering either of them were terrifyingly high, making them nearly incomprehensible to a first-year wizard like him.

But that didn't mean he wouldn't be able to grasp them in the future, right?

Noah was very interested in these special forms of magic, particularly time and space magic. He had even imagined himself becoming a master of time or space one day!

Of course, it was a nice fantasy, but the path to such mastery wouldn't be easy, so he could only dream for now.

After all, he wasn't Ciri with Elder Blood, nor was he the Ancient One holding the Time Stone.

As they walked through the dimly lit hall, Harry and Ron seemed unusually quiet, both appearing somewhat shaken.

The experience Harry had just endured wasn't exactly pleasant. In fact, he was starting to regret his own stubbornness.

If Hermione hadn't saved him with magic, he might have been strangled to death by the Devil's Snare just now.

That thought alone was enough to make him shudder.

Suddenly, a strange noise echoed from above, making Harry tense up immediately. He instinctively reached for his wand.

Ron, who was beside him, was also startled, and the two of them looked like frightened birds.

"Did you hear that? There's some kind of sound coming from above!" Harry said, looking nervously at Noah and the others.

"Of course I heard it. Why don't you just look up?" Noah replied, giving Harry a strange look.

"Why is he so jumpy now?"

The noise had been quite loud. How did Harry only notice it now?

And there was a broom floating right in front of them—wasn't that an obvious clue about what they had to do next?

Noah scratched his head. Have I and my group shaken these two so badly that they've completely lost confidence?

"Uh, sorry, I..." Harry rubbed his nose awkwardly. He had only just taken in his surroundings properly.

Above them, hundreds of winged keys were flitting around in the air. They all had sharp edges, and one in particular stood out—it had damaged wings and looked noticeably different from the rest.

Harry instantly understood what he needed to do.

However, after his humiliating encounter with the Devil's Snare, he wasn't feeling confident enough to volunteer.

He had already embarrassed himself enough today, and he didn't want to risk making another mistake.

So, instead, he looked directly at Noah.

"...Why are you looking at me?" Noah raised an eyebrow. "Don't you want to give it a try? You're the youngest Seeker in a century, after all."

"But you don't seem to care about Quidditch at all. And don't you have a simpler way?" Harry asked, not budging. He wasn't falling for it this time.

"Well, yeah, I do have an easier way. But I thought you wanted to try first, so I didn't say anything. I mean, you didn't hesitate to jump straight into the Devil's Snare without knowing anything about it." Noah smirked before pulling out his wand.

Honestly, none of these trials were particularly difficult. Any upper-year student could breeze through them.

After all, this entire obstacle course was designed for a first-year Harry Potter, so Dumbledore obviously couldn't make it too challenging.

However, what Dumbledore likely hadn't anticipated was that Harry wouldn't be scared off by the trials themselves—he'd be discouraged by Noah's group completely outclassing him.

Even among first-years, there was a clear gap in skill.

"In that case—"

"Leave this one to me."

Noah was about to say that this would be a piece of cake when he was interrupted by Kenn.

Kenn pulled out his wand, gathering magic with ease. A moment later, the tip of his wand glowed faintly.

"Petrificus Totalus!"

As Kenn softly cast the spell, a silver light shot out from his wand. The enchanted keys in the air instantly froze mid-flight before tumbling down one after another.

The previously frantic swarm of flying keys had been completely neutralized in an instant.

After completing the spell, Kenn calmly put his wand away, acting as if he had done something completely mundane.

Harry and Ron swallowed hard at the sight.

The scene before them was nothing short of astonishing.

Although Petrificus Totalus wasn't considered high-level magic, they had only just begun learning it in their first year.

And yet, Kenn had casually used it to petrify an entire flock of moving targets in the air!

The keys weren't stationary; they were constantly in motion, making them difficult to aim at. There were also dozens—if not hundreds—of them, making individual casting impossible.

So, the only real solution was a large-scale spell—which should have required an enormous amount of magical energy!

Yet, judging from Kenn's completely relaxed expression, he clearly hadn't used up much energy at all.

Even though this wasn't the first time they had been amazed like this, Harry and Ron still couldn't help but feel utterly shocked.

"What kind of monster is this guy?"

"Is this really something a first-year student should be capable of? Did he drink some kind of rejuvenation potion?"

Unfortunately, Kenn had no idea what the two were thinking.

But if he did, he would definitely scoff and say:

"You think I drank the water of rejuvenation? You haven't even seen the truly terrifying one yet."

Because the person who really seemed like he had drunk the water of rejuvenation—was Noah.
