Marvel: Scientist Becomes God [R18]

Chapter 117: Marvel Scientist Becomes God, Ch 74.2

Liberty Island, also known as Liberty Island, is located in New York Harbor, across the water from the southern tip of Manhattan, covering an area of about four acres. The iconic Statue of Liberty stands on the island, symbolizing the spirit of America.

Tonight, the sky was overcast and dim, yet Liberty Island was bustling with activity, dazzling with lights as it resembled a beautiful garden, with high-ranking officials from various countries moving about.

Meanwhile, on the outskirts of Liberty Island, in the dim light, serious-looking guards stood focused at their posts, not daring to let their guard down. The influence of tonight's meeting was immense, impacting the future of mutants.

It was highly probable that mutants would attempt to create disturbances, requiring the guards to be extra cautious to avoid any incidents; otherwise, the consequences would be dire.

However, no matter how vigilant the guards were, they would seem helpless against the mutants' bizarre abilities. Even if they deployed a large number of officers to seal off the surrounding waters, it would be to no avail.

Ye Hai's purpose for coming here was to rescue the X-Men, ensuring that no harm befell them while covertly allowing Magneto's plan to succeed. The meeting on Liberty Island had already begun, and this kind of tension...

A conference that concerns the fate of the entire world is sure to take a long time for discussions, and even hours can feel quite prolonged.

The mutants have ample time to execute their plans.

At night, a small fishing boat slipped past the government's maritime blockade and made its way to Liberty Island, docking beneath the Statue of Liberty...

Soon after, a steel machine hovered into the air, with a figure clad in black standing on it. The figure in black waved at the fishing boat, prompting several silhouettes to rush out from within. These figures moved with great speed, quickly neutralizing the security personnel at the foot of the statue before vanishing from sight.

These figures were naturally part of Magneto's group. The figure in black glanced toward the direction of Long Island, smiled subtly, and then used his magnetic powers to lift the mutants' machine high into the air, flying it up to the torch of the Statue of Liberty.

Long Island's gaze was fixed on the towering Statue of Liberty, which stood approximately one hundred meters high, made of pure copper, with a layer of copper skin less than three millimeters thick covering a steel frame.

Just as Magneto placed the machine atop the torch, a bright light appeared in the distance, swiftly approaching and stopping beneath the Statue of Liberty.

The X-Men had arrived. The team was not large; aside from veteran mutants like Cyclops, Storm, and Phoenix, they were joined by Colossus and Beast. The five exchanged glances, with Wolverine questioning, "Why hasn't Long Island shown up?"

Phoenix responded, "He must have been held up by something; let's wait a bit longer."

But time was not on their side. Magneto quickly activated the mutant machine atop the statue. As the machine spun rapidly, visible white threads flew out from it, radiating outward and spreading over an increasingly wide area.

The X-Men were stunned. Phoenix shouted, "We can't wait any longer; we need to get up there and stop him!"
