Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Could She Stop Emma?
The negotiation between Emma and Fury lasted for more than two hours, but it was also a good thing since they were able to discuss so much, meaning there was just a little bit of difference.
After writing the conditions that Emma requested and that he thought the World Security Council could accept, he said: "Okay, that's it for today; you can wait for the good news."
Emma smiled and nodded; it was easier than she expected. She remembered something and said: "By the way, the construction of my hospital is almost done, but I need some money to buy materials."
Fury's mouth twitched. Materials? That was a hospital built by SHIELD; what kind of materials could be lacking? He knew that she just wanted some money.
Nonetheless, he didn't expose her, reaching a tacit understanding, and said: "Okay, I'll have some money transferred to your bank account after I return."
...
After Fury left, Emma slumped onto her sofa, obviously a little tired. Although she was physically strong, with her Shadow Clone training and all kinds of activities, her mental state was approaching its limit.
But all of this was worth it. She continued gathering many points through the live broadcast, and, of course, her magic learning was also progressing; she was now able to create some sparks when trying to open a portal.
She murmured: "Since the school matter is almost certain, it's time to start the second phase. Let's set a meeting with these scientists, but before that, I need some knowledge, at least enough not to be too ignorant."
It took Emma more than an hour of hesitation and determination before buying a skill. No wonder, there were too many scientists in the multiverse.
What kind of Tony Stark or Rick Sanchez couldn't she buy off? There was even The Architect. In short, it was no wonder she took so much time, especially with her limited 500,000 Teaching Points.
She sighed: "As expected, it's easier to spend than to earn, but well, I must spend more to earn more. Is this the mentality of businessmen and investors?"
There were too many things she wanted to do, like buying a Sharingan. What would people think if she had the Senju, Uzumaki, and Uchiha bloodlines?
Before sending invitations, Emma thought about the location. It had to be one that would have the biggest impact. Although there were many such places on Earth, there was only one she could access: Kamar-Taj.
Emma could only sigh. She was really too tired with too many plans in motion. She decided that tomorrow, she would go to Kamar-Taj in person instead of sending a clone.
...
After waking up, Emma, who had gradually developed a routine, didn't take much time to prepare. She cooked lunch with her skills before creating two Shadow Clones, one for the hospital, as she only had two sessions left before her own hospital's opening, and one for Xavier's School.
Soon enough, a portal opened in her room. Habitually, it might have been her Shadow Clone going, but today, she was there in person.
This was something the Ancient One remarked on at first sight, as she had spent time observing and analyzing chakra. She said: "Oh, I thought that according to your schedule, you wouldn't be coming in person today."
Although she said so, Emma couldn't see a hint of surprise on her face and asked: "Didn't you see me coming with the Time Stone?"
The Ancient One, smiling, replied: "After all, no one can play with time. I only use the Time Stone to see the future regularly, but not every day, especially not for daily matters."
Emma thought about it and nodded. At least, she would find it boring to know every day what would happen. Plus, the Ancient One explained that since Emma transmigrated, there wasn't truly a future, only possibilities.
Seeing Emma agreeing, the Ancient One smiled even more. Their relationship was becoming increasingly amicable, especially since the latter found Emma knowledgeable about many things. But most importantly, Emma often spoke to her about other worlds (outside the Marvel Universe).
The Ancient One asked: "So, what brings you here in person?"
Emma became a little nervous at the question. It felt like a teacher catching a student in the act of doing something wrong.
Emma could only bite the bullet. After all, this was the reason she came here in the first place. She said: "Well, I'm kind of preparing to introduce otherworldly powers to this world but make them accessible almost to anyone."
"But for this, I have to prepare people first, so I came up with the idea of a virtual world where they would first have powers to adapt before gaining them in reality."
Even before she finished, Emma was watching the Ancient One's reaction. For the first time, Emma personally saw something like surprise on her face.
This gave her more courage to continue: "For this, I need the help of some humans gifted in technology so I can build the so-called world."
"I would very much need your help concerning how knowledgeable you are about souls and spirits. I want to make the game more realistic by linking it to the spirit to transmit any sensation."
"Of course, before that, I need to give these scientists a bit of a shock. So, I came to you because I would like them to see Kamar-Taj, or even make it our base for the technology creation, as it must remain secret from Hydra and all."
That was Emma's plan, one that left the Ancient One simply speechless. The latter didn't even know how she should react. Angry that Emma wanted to introduce otherworldly powers? Curious?
Angry that she wanted to give normal people powers that would outright disrupt the timeline? Or angry that Emma wanted to allow some people access to Kamar-Taj, even making it their base?
Ancient One looked at Emma's eyes while her brain was braining; what kind of scenario would happen if Earth's people happened to have power?
Originally, Earth itself had many people with big potential; if they were to add something apart from this, she didn't doubt that many mini-Thanos could be born.
Plus, what truly mattered was, could she stop Emma? What if her patron saint, who made her reincarnate in this universe, interfered?
She herself isn't sure if she can defeat Emma as she can feel that the latter is more and more confident than before as if she is sure she can't beat her.
END OF THE CHAPTER
I have a headache today; by the way, whose knowledge did you think she should buy, and which virtual world should she create?
