Chapter 21: Player Kitty And New Use Of f The System
When the X-Men left, Emma, who was alone, couldn't help but sigh at how messed up the Marvel universe was. In fact, she was more excited than scared. Isn't this the reason she chose the Marvel World?
If she were to describe the kind of woman she is, it would be more aligned with Mereoleona from Black Clover. Although she had been a little scheming after coming to this world, it was ultimately because she lacked strength. But now, with all the blessings, she is strong enough to protect herself. She just didn't want to part ways with the government because it still had some use for now.
Well, Emma didn't want to overthink, so she turned on her computer and put on her headset to play some games. Unfortunately, it wasn't 2024 where technology was advanced, but even though it was 2005, some technologies were almost the same as those in 2016 in her world. Only critical things like smartphones or basic VR headsets from her world didn't exist.
She found a new game today called Rogue Battlegrounds, similar to PUBG Mobile from her world, but a little different, notably with more classifications and the like.
She was sent to the rookie server. Emma was very confident in her gaming abilities, especially since her physical attributes, like reflexes and agility, were enhanced.
She couldn't help but chuckle, feeling nostalgic. As soon as the match started, she was paired with a teammate. The girl's nickname popped up: Kitty.
Kitty's avatar fumbled a little on the screen, obviously inexperienced. "Hey there!" Kitty's voice came through Emma's headset, cheerful but a little nervous. "I'm pretty new to this game, just started today actually."
'Well, I can see that at first glance,' thought Emma, but she didn't embarrass the newbie. Didn't everyone start as a beginner once?
She said, "Hello, Kitty. Don't worry, you'll definitely win this match with me. I'm pretty experienced, and you can learn a thing or two."
If this Kitty had read some information about the game, she would know that her teammate couldn't be experienced since this was a rookie server. Unfortunately, she did not.
She replied, "Received, Captain," which lightened Emma's mood after a long day.
Emma said, "Alright, the first thing you need to do is look at your surroundings. Always check the map. See that? Enemies are usually attracted to loot spots. Let's move quietly but quickly."
At that moment, her system, which had been silent since it awakened, sent a notification:
[Teaching player Kitty basic use of the Rogue Battlegrounds map, the host receives 7 Teaching Points and an understanding of basic map use in real life.]
Emma, who read the notification, was so shocked that she was stunned for 5 seconds. At the same time, she felt like an idiot.
She always thought she needed to teach people complicated things, and it had to be face-to-face. If she could do it online, it would be a completely different story.
This simple prompt opened a new world to her. Imagine broadcasting herself teaching physics but using cool magic to project things.
With the government planning to make her a superhero, she would definitely gain many fans. If she were teaching something, she would likely earn a large number of points every day.
Emma, who found a new idea, wanted to leave the game and start a new round of planning. But well, she decided to teach this Kitty, who helped her discover a new idea.
At this time, Kitty, who had a basic understanding of the map after Emma's explanation, said, "Got it, but... um... what do I do if we get attacked?"
Emma, who was happy, said in a soft tone, "Don't panic. If we get into a firefight, I want you to focus on covering me while I handle most of the shooting. Just stay close, and keep an eye on the radar for movement."
As they made their way through the first zone, Emma spotted another team in the distance. She crouched behind cover, motioning for Kitty to do the same. "See those guys? They haven't seen us yet. We're going to flank them."
Kitty's voice was a little confused, clearly not understanding what Emma meant by flanking. "Uh, flank?"
"Move around them so we can hit them from the side, where they won't expect us," Emma explained patiently. "Just follow my lead."
They moved swiftly, with Emma taking down the first opponent with precision. "Now!" she shouted, and Kitty, to her credit, fired her weapon, albeit nervously. The second opponent fell, and the victory notification flashed on their screens.
[Congratulations for teaching Player Kitty the basic flanking technique in Rogue Battlegrounds. The host receives 8 Teaching Points and a Basic Understanding of Zone Control and Flanking.]
Emma couldn't help but smile at another notification from the system. Her theory was confirmed: she could really get points even when teaching online, no matter the subject.
At this moment, she heard Kitty exclaim, "Nice one! You're amazing! How can you do this so easily?"
Emma replied, "As the saying goes, practice makes perfect. You were amazing too, especially for a newbie."
The match between them continued, with Emma mostly teaching Kitty while keeping the two of them alive.
By the time they reached the center of the circle, Kitty was already a little more proficient in controlling her character and was no longer as clumsy.
Emma, who had gained some Teaching Points and skills, was satisfied with Kitty more and more. She eliminated the remaining players until the victory banner appeared on their screens.
"Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!"
Kitty's POV
Seeing the victory banner appear in front of me, I was so excited that I started screaming without even caring about the other people in the dormitory.
I've played some games in my life, but this was probably the most satisfying for me. It reminded me of how cool gaming can be.
As someone interested in technology, I wanted to create my own game and came to test the new hot games to know my competitors. Who knew I would encounter such a cool person? In the end, I sent her a friend request.
