Chapter 3: Chapter 2:Kyle Life And System
'Kyle POV'
It's hard to believe, but five years have already passed since I was reborn. In that time, I've noticed significant changes in myself—changes I didn't expect. My memories are sharper, and I feel... better. It's difficult to explain, but there's this sense that something in me has gotten stronger, especially when it comes to my mind. Things that used to be hard are easier now, and I seem to understand things faster than I ever did before.
I think there are two reasons for this shift.
One, it could be because I'm simply getting older. As I grow, my brain matures, and things start making sense. Kids often pick up things quicker as they age, so maybe this is just a natural progression.
Or maybe, since I reincarnated, my soul merged with the old me's, and that somehow made me stronger. I'm not entirely sure, but I know something has changed in me.
The world around me is mostly the same as the one I came from. I'm still Kyle Preston, my dad is James Preston, and my mom is Sarah Preston. The only big difference is the year I was born. In this life, I came into the world on January 15, 1990, instead of 2002. That means my sister, Lily, will be born on October 15, 2001, making her 11 years and 9 months younger than me, just like before.
But this time, I have a second chance. I'm determined not to waste it.
I'm still waiting for the system the god mentioned, but I don't want to focus on it too much. For now, my parents are very proud of me, and that's enough. They think I'm just a gifted kid who picks things up quickly, but they don't know the whole story.
Right now, I'm in 4th grade, and I'm 5 years old. I could probably skip ahead to middle school with my abilities, but I don't want to stand out too much. Drawing attention isn't a good idea. Plus, there's so much to learn in this world superheroes and villains, magic, strange powers. I need to be ready for whatever comes my way, and right now, I can't afford to rush things.
That's why I've been training at a local boxing gym. It might sound like a kid's hobby, but for me, it's serious. I need to stay strong, and not just physically. In this world, anything can happen.
Even if the system takes its time to arrive, I already have a backup plan. I'll eventually visit Kamar-Taj and learn the mystic arts. I'll be ready, even if it takes years.
As for the Ancient One, well, she isn't the One Above All. She doesn't know everything. The Time Stone may let her see a lot, but I'm certain that my future won't be something she can fully grasp.
It doesn't matter if the Ancient One sees my future or not. I'll make sure my actions and choices aren't predictable. I can't afford to be caught off guard.
Right now, my potential feels greater than in my past life, and I'll use that to protect my family. I won't make the same mistakes again. I won't let anyone hurt them not even myself.
I've also started to show my interest on martial arts. At first, my parents thought it was just a passing phase, but when they saw how serious I was, they hired a professional trainer to help me. I'm sure they didn't expect much just a kid learning how to throw a punch but they didn't realize I had a real talent for this.
My trainer had been an MMA fighter before, so he didn't mess around. He pushed me harder than I expected, but I kept up, and soon he saw that I wasn't just playing around. The better I got, the more he respected me.
In my spare time, I've entered kids' martial arts competitions. So far, I've won most of them. But more importantly, I've been able to stay at the top of my class in school, earning top marks every year.
By the time I was 8, I had already finished middle school and started my freshman year of high school at 9. I don't say this to brag being called a "prodigy" is nothing new for me. It's just how things turned out.
I've learned several martial arts disciplines: Muay Thai, kickboxing, Krav Maga, Aikido, Kendo, and Taekwondo. I've also studied languages: Russian, Chinese, Spanish, and Latin. While Latin is a bit harder for me to grasp, I'm fluent in the other three.
If I want to master the mystic arts, I know I'll need to understand ancient languages. There's still so much to learn, and I haven't even received the system yet.
Living this life as a genius is incredible, but it's also a little overwhelming. No matter how much I can do now, I know that this world isn't peaceful. There are dangers here, threats that could destroy everything. Superhumans, villains, magic... Anything can happen.
That's why I'm pushing myself as hard as I can, mentally and physically. I won't make the same mistakes from my past life. I can't.
Today marks my 10th birthday, and as expected, something unexpected happened.
Early this morning in Queens, New York, the sun shone brightly through my window, warming my face as I sat in deep meditation.
[Ding! Host detected... Binding the Host.]
The voice from nowhere startled me, and I opened my eyes. For a moment, I sat there, frozen in place, trying to process what was happening.
....
[Welcome, host! This is the Fusion Dominion System.]
Before I could ask any questions, a flood of information poured into my mind.
I rubbed my forehead, trying to absorb the overwhelming details.
The system was called the Fusion Dominion System. It had three main functions: Material Fusion, Biological Fusion, and Energy Fusion.
For now, only Material Fusion was unlocked. The system explained that this ability allowed me to merge my essence with objects, living beings, or energy, improving my physical capabilities, biological traits, and energy control in permanent ways.
For instance, if I fused with steel, my body would absorb its qualities—stronger muscles, denser bones, and skin as tough as steel. I'd essentially become a walking tank. The best part? Even the sensitive parts of my body would be as durable as steel, making me nearly invulnerable to physical harm.
I will get fusion capability 1 point per year for Material fusion.
Each year, I could fuse with a new material, which meant I'd continue to get stronger over time. But I still had a lot to learn, and the other fusion types—Biological and Energy—remained mysteries for now.
I asked the system about them, but it didn't answer.
"So, what about a newbie gift pack?" I chuckled, hoping the system had something for me.
[Ding! Congratulations, host! You have unlocked Yoriichi Tsugikuni and Muzan Kibutsuji as alternate identities! I have completed my mission. You now understand the system's functions. Please do not disturb me further.]
The message ended with an image of a blue middle finger.
"This system really has some attitude." I muttered under my breath.
I took a deep breath and looked at the alternate identity section. Two new personas had been unlocked, and it seemed like I could adopt them for some reason.

A voice from downstairs called out to me.
"Understood, Dad!" I quickly closed the system panel and rushed downstairs, eager to start the day.
