Chapter 31: Iron vs Adamantium
"Yes, boss."
The words had just fallen when a dozen Iron Man suits came flying from the sky. Their appearance was similar to the one Ultron had possessed, primarily white with blue accents.
However, their frames were visibly bulkier, clearly indicating that their combat capabilities were now far superior to what they used to be.
As the Iron Security Squad arrived, half of the suits immediately dove down, rushing toward Logan.
The other half hovered in the air, shooting metallic chains from their hand-mounted weaponry to entangle Logan.
"Ha! Come on!!"
Unleashing his Adamantium claws, Logan roared and charged toward the descending Iron Man suits. His claws slashed wildly but never missed their mark, always cutting through critical points like necks, elbows, or knee joints.
Every strike of the Adamantium claws left deep gashes on the armor, as though slicing through butter. The sight made Tony Stark, observing from above, twitch his eyelids uncontrollably.
'Good thing I didn't try to take him on in hand-to-hand combat. One mistake, and I might have ended up dying a miserable death to those strange claws,' Tony thought to himself.
Yes, strange. Because when Tony had designed the Iron Security Squad, he had prioritized durability, using the same material for their armor as his current nano-suit.
In other words, if Logan could easily tear through the Security Squad's armor, he could also tear through Tony's nano-suit—and injure him in the process.
As Tony pondered this, the battle below continued.
Although Logan's Adamantium claws were extraordinarily sharp and capable of cutting through almost anything, the Iron Security Squad utilized nano-technology.
Every time Logan managed to slash through a suit, it would automatically repair itself in the next moment. As a result, the Iron Man suits had only lost a bit of paint up until now!
Additionally, since the entire squad was controlled by FRIDAY, their coordination was seamless, as if they were a single entity. This allowed them to fully maximize the capabilities of all the suits combined.
So, despite Logan being an elite warrior in every sense, he was unable to break free of the Iron Man suits' encirclement.
Furthermore, the hovering suits continued to bombard him with chains and attacks, disrupting him at every turn.
Although Logan could effortlessly slash the chains apart with a single swipe, every time he did so, it left him vulnerable to relentless attacks from the ground-based suits, making the situation increasingly difficult.
Suddenly, several suits hovering above simultaneously fired chains at Logan, attempting to bind him.
"YAAHH!!!"
Logan let out a roar, leaped into the air, and spun his body mid-flight, slashing through all the chains in one swift motion.
But before he could land, one of the Iron Man suits on the ground shot upward, opened its armor, and lunged at Logan.
Clang!
Clang!
The next moment, the suit abruptly closed its shell, and with the sound of metal clashing together, Logan was trapped inside the Iron Man suit.
"F***!!"
Logan cursed, extending his Adamantium claws and piercing six holes straight through the suit's shell.
However, he quickly found himself out of options. Despite his immense strength and constant struggle, FRIDAY's control over the suit rendered him unable to move an inch.
Thud.
Seeing that Logan had been subdued, Tony slowly descended to the ground. He instructed FRIDAY to open the faceplate of the Iron Man suit trapping Logan.
Looking at the scruffy man inside, Tony said, "Mr. Wolverine, I have to admit, you really surprised me. But that's all you've got. In front of Tony Stark, no villain makes it to the final scene."
As he spoke, Tony glanced at Logan's Adamantium claws, which were still protruding out of the suit. "Your claws are impressive. Very sharp."
"I told you—I mean no harm!"
Despite Tony addressing him, Logan was still struggling fiercely, trying to force the suit open. After turning red from exertion without success, he finally let out a sigh and said, "I really don't mean any harm."
"I don't care. You scared my little princess."
Tony dismissed Logan's explanation and was about to instruct FRIDAY to take him away when Rhodey, Thor, Ned, and a few others who could fly arrived.
Clang, clang.
"Hey! Tony, is this the guy who's been causing trouble for everyone?"
Rhodey landed and noticed the upright Iron Man suit next to Stark, with a scruffy man trapped inside. He walked over and tapped the suit on Logan's chest.
Screech—!
"Whoa! Whoa, whoa! What is this?!"
As Rhodey's large suit accidentally came into contact with Logan's Adamantium claws, a screeching sound followed, and a gash one to two inches deep appeared on Rhodey's armor.
Fortunately, Rhodey's armor was thick enough that he wasn't harmed, but he was still startled.
"Those claws... I don't know what they are. Probably the work of some crazy scientist. I'll study them later." Tony mused.
"To be honest, this guy wasn't easy to deal with. If there were a whole team of him, even I might not be able to handle it," Tony said in response to Rhodey's remark.
"What? Study him? Tony, since when did you become interested in human experimentation?"
Rhodey clearly disapproved of human experiments, and knowing Tony's distaste for them, he couldn't understand this sudden change in stance.
"If we don't figure him out, what happens if we encounter a mass production of these Wolverines next time? We'd be sitting ducks."
Tony replied seriously.
"You've got to be kidding, Tony. Look at this guy. A single round of heavy firepower, and there'd be nothing left of him."
Rhodey dismissed Logan as a threat.
"Then what do you think those craters in the ground are from?"
Tony gestured for Rhodey to observe the surroundings.
"Wait... you're saying..."
Rhodey had noticed the two large craters when he arrived but didn't connect them to Logan since the man stood unharmed.
"That's right. He's unkillable," Tony confirmed. "I just unleashed enough firepower to turn the best-equipped military base into rubble."
"But this guy came out unscathed. Add his claws to the mix, and that's why I said if we face more of him, we'd be in serious trouble."
"There won't be more of him," Mystic Sorcerer interjected, interrupting Tony.
"Oh?" Tony raised an eyebrow and looked at Ned.
"I sense multiverse energy on him," Ned said, staring at the familiar Wolverine in disbelief. "In other words, he's from another universe."
"W-what?!"
