Marvel: My Eyes Defies Fate.

Chapter 55: Chapter 55: Leaving.

After the Ancient One had somewhat recovered, Kurogai escorted her back to her residence and then returned to his own quarters. However, he did not rush to pack or leave Kamar-Taj. Instead, Kurogai was deep in thought, reflecting on the Ancient One's words.

"A single glance that severs time, is that truly the future me?"

He gazed out the window in a daze. Though the Ancient One had not explained in detail what she saw, Kurogai had his suspicions. Still, doubts lingered. Had his future really reached that point where a single look could sever the flow of time?

"Or is it some terrifying power, an eye technique that will awaken in the future? Or perhaps…"

Kurogai murmured to himself. He entertained several possibilities, none of which he could currently grasp fully. Only time would reveal the truth.

"For now, it's best I leave Kamar-Taj. As for the Time Stone… I won't touch it just yet."

He glanced toward the Ancient One's residence, speaking quietly. When she used the Time Stone to peer into his future, Kurogai felt an unfamiliar yearning stirring deep within him, as if the artifact held some vital significance.

He did not understand why his body reacted this way, but he was sure it had nothing to do with his Ultimate Eye. When the sensation arose, he immediately checked the status of his Ultimate Eye and found no change.

This craving came from within himself.

Despite the feeling, Kurogai decided to set it aside for now.

First, there was the Ancient One. His relationship with Kamar-Taj remained amicable, and she had always treated him kindly. He had no intention of taking the Time Stone forcibly. Moreover, with the Ancient One present, it would be impossible to do so.

Second, since he did not yet understand why his body developed this craving, he planned to investigate this change first, then gradually decide how to approach the Time Stone.

This was essential. He did not know whether this change was beneficial or harmful. Recklessly taking the Time Stone might cause irreparable damage, something Kurogai wanted to avoid. So, he kept the matter in mind, waiting for the right time to explore it.

If the Time Stone was truly important to him, he would not abandon it. Still, he would seek a path that would not conflict with the Ancient One. But that was a discussion for later.

After all, the Time Stone would remain at Kamar-Taj for the next decade or so, and Kurogai was in no hurry. Everything would wait until he understood the transformation within himself.

With his thoughts organized, Kurogai exhaled deeply. As his power grew, so did the mysteries surrounding him—some too complex even for him to unravel yet.

But he believed that one day he would understand it all. These things required time, and even if he wished for faster answers, there was no shortcut. He could only move forward, unraveling the secrets one by one.

After gathering his belongings, Kurogai activated his magic, drawing a golden circle in the air before him. A shimmering portal appeared, glowing softly.

He looked back once, his gaze sweeping over Kamar-Taj, then turned quietly and stepped into the golden portal, vanishing from the sanctum.

Six years ago, he had arrived here alone. Now, six years later, he left a true sorcerer, equipped with a Sling Ring and a wealth of magical knowledge.

During that time, he had the library and the Ancient One's guidance, but he could not stay. His journey lay among the stars, and Kamar-Taj, silent guardian of the magical world's peace, was no longer his home.

On a rooftop in New York, sparks flickered into existence, spreading until a golden halo about two meters wide formed. A figure stepped through—Kurogai, returned to New York.

"It's been a long time. Time to visit the orphanage."

He murmured and set off slowly. The orphanage was his first destination in this world, and people there awaited his return.

Now, Kurogai no longer needed to hide. His power had grown beyond what it once was.

Years ago, he had relied on the Geass Eye to control others for protection. Now, he could rely on magic alone.

If anyone tried to threaten him, he would teach them a lesson with his magic. This was Kurogai's confidence.

He recalled the promise he had once made: one day, he would protect himself without the Geass Eye. That day had come. He had grown strong, and ordinary people were no match for him.
