Chapter 241: Chapter 241 : The Witch's Worries!
"I know this. That's why we have to be extremely cautious about these so-called evil forces. If we allow them to succeed, the destruction they'll bring isn't a joke."
At that moment, the witch spoke again, her tone filled with anxiety.
After all, their enemies possessed terrifying power. If there wasn't an emergency contingency in place, stopping them entirely would be immensely difficult once they fully emerged.
It was exactly because of this that they had to remain vigilant and never let their guard down.
"Yeah, she's right. And don't forget those so-called demons. Even though they didn't defeat you last time, they've accumulated a serious grudge. If they return as a group, the pressure they'll bring will be overwhelming."
The dark witch standing beside her spoke up, her tone just as serious—void of any jest or lightness.
When Finn heard this, he nodded at once. "I understand what you're saying. But something like this—Operation 22—requires long-term planning. If we act recklessly, we won't just fail to destroy them. If they unite, we won't be able to stop their advance."
This wasn't an unfounded concern. In fact, it had a very high probability. That's why Finn insisted everything had to be carefully thought through. Acting without a solid plan was simply not an option.
"If that's the case, then we'll proceed according to your plan. But if it doesn't work, we'll eliminate them in advance to prevent future disaster. And next time, you're not going alone—I'm going with you!"
When the witch said this, her words were firm and unwavering. Her confidence burned bright, as if nothing could stop her. Her striking eyes showed neither hesitation nor fear.
"Don't forget about me. I'm going too. My power isn't something to underestimate."
The Dark Witch's voice was resolute. She spoke without hesitation, radiating confidence and determination.
As long as she could help Finn bring this conflict to an end, everything that came afterward would become far simpler.
And because of that, if they hoped to gain even a moment's peace, they would have to annihilate the enemy forces completely—leaving no survivors, offering no chances.
"I understand. I'll bring you both next time."
After listening to their unwavering determination, Finn acknowledged their reasoning and nodded in agreement.
After all, the enemy had grown significantly stronger. If he fought alone, he might be able to wipe out parts of the demonic faction or some of the enemy operatives—but there was no way he could finish it alone.
So at this crucial stage, the roles of both witches were absolutely vital.
"Finn, remember what you said. Don't try to ditch us again next time, alright?"
The witch's voice softened. Her tone became playfully scolding—almost flirtatious. Most people wouldn't be able to resist it.
"Alright, alright, I get it. Now let's eat the rest of this breakfast before it gets cold."
Finn smiled and gave in easily, agreeing to their terms without further debate. There was no need to push the conversation further when the current strategy was already moving in the right direction.
Because of that, he wasn't overly worried.
If they dragged out the discussion any further, the psychological pressure would build, and that would impact decision-making. Better to trust in the preparations they'd already made.
"We know."
The Dark Witch nodded, and so did the witch beside her. Neither pushed the topic any further. If there was anything to be done, it would be done in accordance with Finn's orders.
There was no need to overthink it. After all, Finn had already taken care of the main preparations.
If this still failed, what followed would spiral out of control fast.
Soon enough, the three of them had finished every last bite of food on the table. With their stomachs full, they sank back into the soft cushions of the living room sofa, completely relaxed.
As always, the two witches spent most of their time researching the Darkhold. In their free time, they'd watch movies together—using small moments of calm to rest from the shadows that always hovered near.
But Finn didn't allow himself to slack off—not even for a second.
He was well aware of the overwhelming threat that the mysterious entity posed. If his own strength hadn't increased significantly, he would've already been annihilated the moment that being appeared.
Because of that, he refused to let that scene ever happen.
More importantly, he wouldn't allow the witches to suffer harm because of his inaction. He had made it his mission to protect their lives.
So, during the days that followed, each of them buried themselves in their respective tasks.
Finn continued working on complex magical constructs. The witches devoted themselves to decoding and weaponizing the secrets of the Darkhold. Sometimes, they even went outside for a walk or to observe local ley lines.
It was a quiet but productive rhythm—and this, more than anything, was the kind of life Finn wished for.
But even in those quieter moments, the weight of the unknown never left them. The pressure emanating from the mysterious entity was ever-present—so suffocating that none of them could afford to truly relax.
Because in war, the moment you let your guard down... it's already too late.
Soon, a full week passed.
That day, the sky above Westbridge was impossibly clear—like polished sapphire overhead. Sunlight poured down in golden sheets, warm and soft like cotton candy, falling gently on everyone it touched.
"A week's gone by. And this creation magic still needs time to stabilize. If not, it'll be nearly impossible to complete."
In his private study, dazzling golden light enveloped everything. It was blinding, overwhelming—and yet, within it, Finn smiled.
For the first time in days, he allowed a flicker of pride to show.
Because through relentless effort, he had finally completed the creation magic he'd been working on.
It looked like a Dragon Ball, but it was far more potent. In the Marvel universe, it aligned closer to a hybrid of mystical constructs found in the Book of the Vishanti and the raw wish-granting nature of the Cosmic Cubes.
But its true power wasn't just wish fulfillment.
The more crucial aspect was this: it allowed its wielder to extract energy directly from it—primal, unfathomable energy—and wield it as their own.
It was a miracle of magic and mysticism, something even the Ancient One would have approached with caution.
However, what Finn didn't yet know... was just how vast and volatile the force within that creation magic truly was.
