Marvel : I'm in Westview Town

Chapter 230: Chapter 230: Tenacious Vitality!

Rumble!

The bodies of Finn and Mara collided in mid-air.

In this violent clash, Finn finally gained the upper hand and knocked Mara back.

But Finn didn't pursue. His body froze in mid-air, brows furrowed in frustration.

"Damn! This guy's vitality is off the charts. How the hell is he still standing?" Finn cursed inwardly.

Even though he had won that last exchange, the energy it had cost him was substantial.

"Human, you've already lost!" Mara sneered, his form twisting grotesquely as he swung a whip-like leg straight toward Finn's head.

"Nice try!"

Finn scoffed coldly, forming a hardened palm with his right hand and intercepting the kick.

Pat!

Mara was sent flying backward, crashing into the dirt, while Finn staggered two steps before regaining his balance.

"Hahaha, is that all?" Mara taunted with a feral grin, lunging forward again.

He didn't fear Finn's strength at all. On the contrary, he seemed convinced that time alone would be enough to wear Finn down to nothing.

Boom boom boom!

In an instant, their silhouettes blurred as the two clashed again.

Boom!

A solid punch connected with Finn's chest. He flew backward like a ragdoll, smashing through multiple trees before skidding to a stop.

Psst!

Blood leaked from the corner of Finn's mouth.

His face turned pale, eyes glinting with a chilling intensity.

"Human, die!" Mara's body hurtled toward Finn like a meteor, massive arms swinging to pulverize him into nothingness.

Finn's eyes narrowed, his body radiating determination. He couldn't afford to lose this fight.

If he did, death wouldn't be the worst outcome—he knew what Mara was capable of.

Whoosh!

Finn blurred into motion, an afterimage whipping across the field as he raised his arm.

A surge of thunder energy crackled from his palm and blasted straight into Mara's torso.

Roar!

Mara screamed in rage and pain. His body convulsed from the electric surge, but he didn't go down. If anything, he looked even more feral.

"Human! Die!" Mara bellowed, lunging again with his jaws wide open, teeth ready to rip flesh from bone.

"Shit!"

Finn's pupils shrank. His instincts screamed.

Against an entity like Mara, brute strength alone wasn't enough. His defense was off the charts—he was like something built in one of Stark's black-ops labs gone rogue.

With no other choice, Finn shifted into evasive mode. If he let himself get caught in that death trap of teeth and muscle, the injuries would be catastrophic—maybe even fatal.

He retreated quickly, avoiding Mara's unrelenting assault. Right now, he needed time—to breathe, to heal.

Boom!

Suddenly, a deafening explosion rocked the battlefield.

Finn's gaze snapped toward the direction of the blast.

A mountain in the distance crumbled like paper. Boulders tumbled down its side as dust and smoke blanketed the sky.

Finn's eyes narrowed.

"What the hell is happening over there? Could it be...?"

Boom!

Another explosion echoed.

The ground trembled violently beneath Finn's feet, as though something titanic had begun to stir beneath the surface.

"What is this?" Finn muttered, alarmed.

Something was off. Terribly off.

But there was no time to analyze it.

Mara came at him again, claws extended, face twisted in bloodlust.

Finn dodged the strike by inches.

Mara was relentless, one blow after another raining down like the wrath of a demonic Hulk.

"I can't keep running like this."

Finn's breathing grew heavier. His body screamed in protest, but he couldn't falter now.

"Human, any last words?" Mara sneered, closing in for the kill.

"Last words? I've got plenty!"

Finn's lips curled into a smirk as he accelerated and lunged forward, unleashing a brutal punch.

His fist glowed brilliantly, like it had been cast from gold itself.

Boom!

Finn's punch struck Mara's skull and drove clean through it.

"Huh? That didn't work?"

A look of disbelief flickered across Finn's face.

That attack should have ended it. He was sure of it.

But Mara's head, though pierced, didn't disintegrate. The beast still stood.

"Human, you are powerful. I'll give you that," Mara said, eyes dark with malice. "But my body is built like Stark-grade vibranium alloy. Even if your strength increased tenfold, it wouldn't make a difference."

Finn's face darkened. This was bad. Worse than he thought.

This wasn't just a fight anymore—it was war.

And he wasn't sure how much more he could take.

"Then come on!" he snarled, golden energy crackling around his body. He wasn't done yet.

He dove forward, slamming another radiant punch at Mara with all his might.

Boom!

They clashed again. The impact flung Finn backward, his body crashing into the dirt with devastating force.

Blood gushed from his mouth.

"Damn it! That thing's defense is unreal!" he cursed, wiping blood from his lips, eyes narrowing with resolve.

"What now, human? Out of tricks?" Mara mocked, advancing like a slow-moving tank.

Finn's eyes clouded over briefly. Then he exhaled and spoke evenly.

"I'll admit I underestimated you. But this fight... this isn't over yet."

Swish!

In a flash, Finn vanished.

Hum!

A second later, he reappeared in mid-air above Mara, blade in hand.

He came down like a divine executioner, sword glowing with a destructive aura.

Click!

The blade struck, and Mara flew backward for the first time, crashing to the ground.

Finn's breathing grew steadier. That had worked. Barely.

Mara was strong, yes—but his speed wasn't all that impressive.

If Finn could just keep timing his strikes perfectly...

"You've pissed me off, human!" Mara roared, crimson rage radiating from his massive frame.

The very air around him shook with his fury.

"Damn it!" Finn gritted his teeth and launched into another evasive dash, barely staying ahead of the berserker storm behind him.

Hula la!

Without warning, Mara opened his massive jaws and spewed a thick mist into the battlefield.

The dark fog spread with terrifying speed, swallowing up everything. Visibility dropped to zero.

"Shit!" Finn cursed.

He could feel the air shift. Something was wrong—something deeper than he understood.

Boom!

The space around him quaked violently. The ground cracked underfoot, and the atmosphere reeked of rot and corruption.

Demonic energy spilled into every inch of the domain, contaminating everything with its stench.

"Human," Mara's voice echoed from the mist, monstrous and cold, "this is my domain."

"Once you're in here, unless your strength surpasses mine, you'll never leave."

"I'll break you slowly, make you beg, scream, suffer in agony until you forget what life even felt like."

The air turned frigid. Finn's muscles clenched. He wasn't just fighting a brute—he was trapped in something more.

This was like being stuck in a reality-warping pocket dimension, something akin to what Dormammu would conjure—or worse, what Mephisto would do just for fun.

Call out!

A sharp screech cut through the fog. Finn twisted instinctively.

A magic-imbued black blade ripped through the air next to his head, missing by inches.

He saw the trail it carved—a curse-laced weapon meant to kill souls, not just flesh.

Finn gritted his teeth, eyes glowing with a furious light.

"You want to torture me? Then I hope you're ready for what I do when cornered!"
