Chapter 490: Chapter 490

"RRAAAHHH!!"

A massive Leviathan came crashing down from above, its jaws wide open, lunging toward Tony Stark and Rhodey.

The two glanced up—eyes widening—and scrambled to escape the incoming behemoth.

But before it could reach them, the Leviathan suddenly froze mid-air, halted by an unseen force.

Then—it was hurled backwards like a ragdoll!

There stood the Hulk, roaring defiantly—the Leviathan had been his throw.

With a single leap, Hulk landed beside Stark and Rhodey.

"Hey… thanks, big guy," Tony muttered.

Even they couldn't help but gulp at the green brute's raw power.

All around them, New York was in chaos.

Despite the combined efforts of the Asgardian warriors and Kamar-Taj sorcerers, devastation was everywhere.

The skies were ablaze, alien armies zipped overhead.

The ground teemed with monsters.

Buildings collapsed.

Screams echoed.

Amid the flames and rubble, Tony Stark, Rhodey, Hulk, Steve Rogers, Natasha, Hawkeye, Thor, and Loki instinctively gathered—forming a circle.

They stood shoulder to shoulder—whether they realized it or not, they had just assembled as the Avengers.

Everyone… except one.

Loki glanced at the group around him.

Despite fighting on the same side, he felt alien among them.

He was the God of Mischief—standing with these self-righteous heroes just didn't sit right.

Quietly, he slipped away—he had other schemes to pursue.

"We need to fight together if we're going to win this," Steve said, his voice steady with leadership.

"Whatever issues we've had—put them aside. We fight as one."

Everyone nodded.

"Stark, Rhodey—you two clear the skies."

"Clint, support from the ground with your bow."

"Natasha, deploy more shadow warriors to help the wounded."

"Thor—go wild with your lightning."

"And Hulk… go nuts."

At Steve's command, they each launched into action.

Hulk grinned savagely.

With a ground-shaking roar, he charged like a freight train into the oncoming Outriders—tearing them apart with brute force.

Thor soared into the sky, cleaving through Chitauri as he rose.

He raised Stormbreaker to the heavens—lightning surged.

Dark clouds blanketed the city. Bolts of lightning rained down, blasting Chitauri, Leviathans, and Outriders alike.

Meanwhile, Tony and Rhodey streaked through the air, firing at every alien in sight.

"Hey, Tony, when this is over, you're definitely installing more cannons on me," Rhodey called out, unloading his machine gun.

While Psyga's guns were more powerful than any Earth weapon, he craved bigger firepower.

"I'll upgrade you after this fight," Tony replied, releasing micro-missiles from his shoulder pods and blowing enemy fliers to pieces.

"Hey, wait—your suit's different. That's not your old armor."

"You noticed?" Tony smirked. "I reforged it using vibranium from Wakanda. And I rebuilt the arc reactor to run on nuclear fusion—then integrated photon-blood flow circuitry."

"Now, my suit's got superior firepower, better defense, smoother mobility… all of it. This is my best armor yet."

He demonstrated by letting out a barrage of laser blasts that vaporized a whole squad of Chitauri.

Rhodey whistled in admiration.

"Vibranium, huh? Wakanda's become a hot topic. Everyone wants their hands on that metal—but they've shut everyone down. How'd you get it?"

"Tech trade. Want a demo?"

Tony tapped a hidden button on his arm.

His suit hissed—panels opening, revealing glowing components radiating intense heat.

Through the exposed framework, particle collisions could be seen—sparking rapid, self-generating energy that flooded the armor's entire system.

BOOM!!

Tony launched forward at blistering speed—like a missile.

So fast, he left no afterimage—only the deafening roar of shockwaves behind him.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

And those sonic booms weren't just noise—they were forceful blasts.

Any Chitauri caught in the wave were blown skyward or crushed by concussive force.

In this terrifying state, every punch and kick from Tony carried the force of a tank shell—slaughtering multiple enemies with ease.

He even sent a Leviathan crashing down in a heap.

Rhodey stared, speechless.

From his perspective, something was flying around, causing massive damage—so fast it was practically invisible.

The Chitauri fell in droves, and no one even saw what hit them.

Tony reappeared before him, panting.

"Huff… huff… So… how's that? My new toy. Hyper-Speed Mode."

"Looks awesome… but sounds exhausting."

Rhodey frowned at Tony's labored breathing.

"I'm fine. If I hadn't installed a suppression circuit, I'd probably be dead from overclocking."

Tony waved him off.

"How'd you build something like that?"

"Remember that Bird Wing ship schematic Fury got from the Dyna Universe?"

"The MAX Drive System mentioned in it fascinated me. It's a game-changer—using particle collisions to generate fresh energy for propulsion."

"The guy who designed it… maybe not as brilliant as me, but close."

Tony grinned smugly.

"I adapted the concept. My suit's internal particles collide constantly, generating bursts of energy."

"I can now break Mach 10 easily. I'm basically a walking missile now."

He chuckled with pride.
