Marvel: I Evolved Into Superman on My Own

Chapter 16: Chapter 16 : Roaring Watt

"What's with that look?" Jino noticed Chloe's gaze and unceremoniously reached out, pressing down on the girl's head and rubbing her short blonde hair with a bit of force.

The girl yelped in pain. "I just washed my hair!"

Chloe clutched her head pitifully, her small hands pushing away Jino's mischievous large one.

"Because Clark saved my brother, this car is a thank you to Clark," Jino explained, retracting his arm and putting his hands in his pockets.

"What? You saved Jino's brother?" Pete looked at Clark with some surprise. "No wonder you weren't at school that day."

"It was nothing, just a small favor," Clark said, scratching his cheek a little awkwardly. Little Black Pete, however, sighed dramatically. "I wish I'd skipped school that day too."

"Oh, come on, you can't even swim," Chloe mercilessly exposed Pete.

The group walked towards the academic building, chatting and laughing.

The campus was bustling with people in the early morning. Jino's gaze swept through the crowd, landing on Whitney, whose arm was in a cast. He was surrounded by teammates in baseball jackets, heading towards the sports field with their coach.

The school's sports teacher was a stout, middle-aged white man with gelled hair, giving him the air of a mob boss.

"Hold on, kids," Coach Watt said, frowning, his fleshy cheeks squeezing together, forming a deep 'river' character on his forehead.

The man loosened his collar, his fat belly jiggling slightly. He stared at the four people walking towards the academic building in the distance, his gaze settling on Jino.

"Is that the kid who hurt your arm, Whitney?" Coach Watt glanced at Whitney out of the corner of his eye.

Whitney gritted his teeth and nodded slightly. "Yes, I suspect it was him."

Although the incident of his broken arm had become a mystery around Smallville, Whitney's gut feeling told him it was very likely Jino's doing.

"I remember, he also skipped my gym class yesterday?" Coach Watt narrowed his eyes slightly, his temper flaring instantly. The man started walking towards Jino. The football players behind him exchanged glances, then followed Coach Watt, eager to watch the drama unfold.

Their coach was not known for his good temper; he would either hit or scold his players when he lost it.

"Kid!" Coach Watt roared, stopping the four who were heading to school.

"Uh oh, it's Coach Watt. He's probably going to ask you about missing class yesterday." Little Black Pete shrank back, clearly afraid of this coach.

Chloe also gave Jino a "good luck" look, feeling that Jino was in for a rough day.

Only Clark had a worried expression. His body was tense, concerned that Jino and Coach Watt would clash, and then Jino would break Coach Watt's arm in a fit of rage.

He needed to be ready to stop Jino.

"What do you want?" Jino stopped, turning to look at Coach Watt, who was several heads shorter than him.

From Jino's perspective, Coach Watt at that moment looked like an angry marmot.

Coach Watt stared at Jino, their eyes meeting, and an invisible fire seemed to burn in the air.

However, having seen many storms since childhood, the gap between Coach Watt and Jino in terms of mindset and composure was as vast as the ocean. Ultimately, Coach Watt couldn't bear the cold, heavy atmosphere and sneered, "Jino Luthor, right?"

"That's me," Jino nodded indifferently. He wasn't a fool; he could tell this middle-aged man meant trouble, so Jino's response wasn't exactly warm.

"May I ask what you want—"

Jino was cut off before he could finish.

"Shut up, kid!" Coach Watt's voice was loud, practically roaring at Jino. His eyes, round as an ox's, glared at Jino. He pointed to himself with his right hand, then pointed at Jino in the distance. "I talk, you listen, understand?"

Before Jino could react, the man continued, "Given your truancy yesterday, I think you deserve some punishment."

The man turned his head to look at his football team and sneered, "I don't care if you're from the Luthor Family or some other damn family."

"Here, if you skip class, you will be punished!"

The middle-aged man stared at Jino's handsome face, grinning menacingly:

"And your punishment is to wash the socks of all the main players on the football team for a week!"

As his words fell, the teammates behind him joined in with mocking laughter and taunts.

"Wow, then it looks like I won't need to change my socks for a few weeks."

"I think he should change them three times a day, so he has to wash more pairs."

Listening to their taunts, Jino's face remained calm, but the three people beside him couldn't stand it.

"Coach, that violates school rules!" Chloe was the first to speak. "The punishment for students skipping class is just writing a 1000-word self-reflection; it doesn't include washing other people's socks."

"Exactly, you're abusing your authority, Coach Watt." Clark said, his face serious, taking a firm step forward to show his determination to "stand" with them.

"Me, me too!" Little Black Pete gritted his teeth, and after much hesitation, slowly raised his hand.

"Shut up, you don't have the right to speak here!" Watt glared at the three, gritting his teeth. "Get out of here before I lose my temper!"

"Otherwise, you'll be washing socks with him!"

Listening to Watt's roar, the three couldn't help but turn pale. For three innocent high schoolers, the intimidating presence of the roaring Coach Watt filled them with fear.

At this moment, many passing students were secretly observing the group, and many whispered with their companions, discussing what was happening.

"So, did you hear what I said?" Coach Watt looked at Jino, whose face was calm but remained silent, a smug expression on his face.

Even if he was from the Luthor Family, he was still just a high schooler. Wasn't it easy for him, with over a decade of coaching experience, to intimidate a high school student?

Watching the arrogant Watt, even Clark couldn't help but feel a surge of anger, but Clark noticed that Jino was surprisingly calm.

"Watt, roaring won't earn you people's respect." Under Clark's gaze, Jino slowly spoke. The young man sighed, staring at the school emblem on Watt's clothes: "If I remember correctly, LuthorCorp donates $500,000 to the high school in Smallville every year for school development and staff benefits."

"I always thought the high school teachers in Smallville were polite and well-mannered."

"But you've completely changed my perception of the school." Jino calmly pulled out his phone and dialed Lex's number. "Perhaps I should have my brother cut off funding to the high school."

Jino held the phone to his ear, flashing a nasty smile at Watt.

"When the school administration finds out why, I hope I can still hear you roar."
