After the contract was signed, the Ghost Rider and his host became a fused entity, with even their souls partially intertwined. Whenever the Ghost Rider emerged, the host would not only lose control of the body but their soul would also be affected.

But now, Johnny Blaze—who had always existed as a passive observer—began struggling for control of the body, attempting to influence the Ghost Rider with the strength of his soul.

Seconds later, the Ghost Rider fell silent. The flames on his skull vanished. Just as Mike looked at him in confusion, the fire on his head suddenly reignited—burning more fiercely than before.

He tilted his head at Mike, gave him a look—and then raised a thumbs-up.

Mike: "...?"

Wait, a different gesture this time?

After giving the signal, now controlled by Johnny Blaze's soul, the Ghost Rider mounted his Hellcycle, howled wildly, and charged into the distance, brandishing a chain engulfed in Hellfire.

The chain seemed to have a life of its own, weaving through the streets at the Ghost Rider's will, passing through monster after monster, reducing each to ash.

Roxanne Simpson, watching this scene unfold, patted her chest and exhaled deeply.

Thank goodness—she was saved.

"Than—"

Just as she opened her mouth to thank Mike, she realized he had already vanished.

Roxanne looked at the chaotic street, then suddenly shouted, "Mackie! Start filming, now!"

Mackie gave her a wounded look and pointed to the camera—now shattered beside them.

Roxanne's face froze with embarrassment. "I'll pay you back for it."

Grief poured from Mackie's expression. In a hollow voice, he muttered, "You wouldn't understand."

This was a battle that could only be described as troublesome.

The monsters had only one real advantage: their sheer numbers.

But those who fought to eliminate them weren't few either.

Mike, Carrie, the Ghost Rider, and a whole squad of sorcerers.

So even though the scene looked terrifying, within just a few minutes, the monsters were all wiped out—clean and complete. Mike alone accounted for nearly 70% of the eliminations.

Activating his enhanced vision, Mike scanned the entire city. After confirming no remaining monster presence, he exchanged a few words with Carrie, left the name of his current hotel and his contact number, then quickly departed.

When he returned to his car, the magical barrier was still intact.

He had parked a good distance from the chaos, so the monsters hadn't reached that area.

The entire chaotic battle had lasted just over ten minutes. Though there was some damage, it was fortunately minimal.

As he opened the car door, Raven and Gwen immediately rushed out.

Raven hugged Mike and gave him a deep kiss.

Gwen covered her eyes with a sigh and shook her head at them both.

Seeing this, Mike and Raven couldn't help but laugh.

Mike bent down to pick up Gwen, gave her a little nose flick, and said, "Come on, let's get you something delicious."

A smile spread across Gwen's face.

Mike ruffled her hair and chuckled, "Little glutton."

The next morning, early.

Carrie arrived at the hotel where Mike was staying. She sat quietly watching the clock on the wall. When the hands landed on eight o'clock, she smoothed out her clothes—still wearing that worn-out suit jacket—and took the elevator to the 13th floor. Then she walked toward Mike's room.

Standing in front of the door, Carrie found herself unexpectedly nervous.

Not just because she was anxious about the possibility that Mike might not be able to break the contract—but also because Mike was Clark's father. This was technically their first formal meeting.

After fixing her hair and tidying up her clothes, Carrie took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

The door opened, and Carrie's eyes lowered—landing on Gwen. She offered a sweet smile. "Morning, Gwen. We meet again."

"Carrie-jie!"

Gwen beamed with joy. After letting her in, she said, "We're having breakfast—join us!"

"No need. I can wait," Carrie replied politely. Then, seeing Mike approach her, she said, "Mr. Kent."

Mike nodded. "Have a seat. Tea or coffee?"

"Anything's fine."

Carrie appeared quite reserved—and visibly tense.

Noticing her worn suit, Mike smiled, then turned to Gwen and patted her on the head. "Go finish your breakfast."

Gwen nodded, stuck her tongue out at Carrie playfully, and dashed back to the table to join Raven in demolishing the rest of the food.

As Carrie sat down on the couch, Mike brought her a glass of water.

Carrie quickly accepted the glass and said, "Thank you."

Mike sat down, watching as she nervously sipped at the water in small gulps. Then he suddenly said,

"You still have Clark's jacket?"

Carrie flinched slightly, but then nodded calmly. "It's important to me."

"Is the suit important? Or the person?"

Mike teased.

Carrie instantly looked up, her cheeks flushing slightly. She brushed her long hair behind one ear, a bit flustered.

"How… how is Clark?"

Come to think of it, she hadn't spoken to Clark much during school. But somehow, he had left such a deep impression—one she couldn't forget no matter how hard she tried.

"He's doing well." Mike nodded, then added with a slightly troubled tone,

"He's grown up now, but still doesn't have a girlfriend."

Hearing that, Carrie froze for a second—then almost jumped with joy.

She barely managed to restrain the impulse, but the rising curve of her lips betrayed her excitement.

"Mr. Kent, would you mind telling me more about him?"

Carrie finally couldn't hold back her curiosity.

Mike shook his head. "No can do."

Carrie's face fell. She quickly set the cup down. "I'm sorry. That was rude of me."

Mike tapped the armrest of the couch and smiled.

"You misunderstood me."

"Huh?"

"If you want to know more, you'll have to ask Clark yourself. For now, we've got more important matters to handle."

A glint of joy flickered in Carrie's eyes. Then she nodded, her expression turning serious. "Right."

She couldn't even remember exactly when she had signed the contract with Mephisto.

But it was a pact forged by selling herself—her soul—agreeing to serve Mephisto as a servant in exchange for power. Even after her death, her soul would belong to Mephisto.

After Mike got a brief understanding of the nature of Carrie's contract, he fell into deep thought and said,

"I can only promise to try my best."

"That's more than enough. I'm already very grateful."

Carrie replied quickly.

Mike waved her over. As she stepped closer, he slowly stood up, and a card appeared between his fingers.

Name: Sigil of All-Binding Reversal

Item Description: A magical artifact that can revert any magically enhanced object or magically bound life form to its pre-enchanted state—provided the change is connected to a contractual link.
