Clark gently pressed down on Thor's shoulder, his smile still warm: "Sit down."

Thor slumped down, dazed, and after a few seconds slowly came back to his senses.

Just moments ago, he had thought several times that he was about to be turned into a pulp.

He had to remember — he was just a mortal now.

Mortal?

But the moment that thought crossed Thor's mind, his whole expression drooped, as if his soul had left him.

Yes, he had been exiled from Asgard, lost his divine power, and become a mortal.

He sat quietly, his gaze vacant.

Watching Thor like that, Mike cleared his throat and waved a hand in front of his eyes. Seeing that Thor didn't even blink, he looked over at Clark and asked, "You didn't break him, did you?"

"Shouldn't have," Clark said, rubbing his chin. "He was still yelling a moment ago."

Mike glanced at the annoying icy spikes of hair sticking out of Thor's head and grimaced, "Cut his hair, will you? It's a bit of an eyesore."

"No!"

Thor suddenly roared, glaring suspiciously at Mike and Clark. "No one touches my hair!"

Mike and Clark exchanged a glance and shrugged.

Looks like this arrogant god might finally be ready to communicate properly.

"Have some tea."

Mike poured fresh tea for Thor.

Thor took a sip and was surprised to find it tasted pretty good.

After a moment, as the icy spikes softened back into smooth hair, Thor also returned to his usual self.

"Can I really go back? What do I have to do?" he asked, still anxious but no longer so aggressive.

Mike smiled faintly, setting down his cup. "Don't you already know?"

"I know?" Thor was momentarily stunned.

"Why were you exiled?"

Thor's eyes darkened.

"Why did your father throw down the hammer with you?"

Thor's eyes brightened slightly. "I get it now!"

It was a test.

The reason he couldn't lift Mjölnir was that he hadn't passed his father's test yet. Once he passed, he could lift the hammer again and return to Asgard.

"What do I have to do?"

Thor looked at Mike with burning eyes.

Mike smiled faintly. "I don't know either."

"What!?"

Thor glared at Mike, shouting, "Are you messing with me? You're…"

"Hmph."

A cold snort sounded beside him.

Thor's anger instantly suppressed, and he forced a smile. "Are you testing me?"

"No, I really don't know," Mike shrugged. "But I have a guess."

Thor instantly brightened. "Tell me!"

"Why should I?"

Mike smiled with a hint of mischief.

Thor pondered, then said, "If I regain my power and return to Asgard, I'll give you my friendship! Money, power — anything you want."

"I don't care," Mike said, folding his hands beneath his nose, a slight smirk playing at his lips. "Do you think if I wanted those things, I'd need you to give them to me?"

Thor glanced at Clark quietly sipping tea nearby and immediately lost his temper.

Though Clark had only shown a fraction of his power just now, Thor guessed even if he regained his strength, he wouldn't stand a chance against him.

And Clark was Mike's son.

Thinking of the gap between himself and his father Odin, Thor sighed.

"Looks like you understand."

Mike smiled faintly. "But I'll still give you a chance."

Thor's eyes lit up again. "What do I do?"

"From today, you listen to me. When you meet my conditions, I'll tell you what to do." Mike tapped the table. "This is a deal."

Thor didn't hesitate and nodded in agreement.

Seeing this, Clark's mouth twitched in a crooked smile.

"Since you agreed, from today on, you're a waiter in my restaurant."

"What!?" Thor shouted, staring at Mike in disbelief. "You want me to be a waiter?"

Mike furrowed his brow. "What's this? You just agreed, and now you're going back on your word? Is that the reputation of Asgard? Is that the resolve of Thor, the God of Thunder? Looks like you don't really want to go home!"

His words grew more mocking as he spoke.

Thor clenched his anger and said, "Fine, I agree!"

For the honor of Asgard!

"That's more like the Thunder God I know!" Mike nodded approvingly.

Hearing that, Thor actually felt... a little pleased?

Mike's gaze sharpened. "By the way, about the power Clark just showed — you can't tell anyone else."

Thor nodded.

"All right!" Mike stood up and said to Clark, "Take him to buy some daily necessities. I'll go home and tidy up his room."

Clark nodded and led Thor toward the door. Just as they reached it, Clark suddenly turned back.

"Dad, are you going to reimburse these expenses?"

Mike was speechless for a moment.

"Go on, go on, it's reimbursed."

Hearing this, Clark finally relaxed.

He was just a working man now, and earlier he had lost quite a bit of money on travel expenses for an interview…

After closing the restaurant, Mike headed home.

He still had a place to live.

No matter what, Thor was a prince of Asgard — but he was now a waiter at Mike's restaurant. Letting him live there directly would look bad.

So, the attic it was — the space there was pretty big.

What? Stay in Charles or Eric's room?

He must be dreaming — he's just some broken Thunder God!

While Mike was tidying the attic, Gwen came home from school.

"Dad! What are you doing?"

Hearing the noise upstairs, Gwen dropped her backpack and hurried up to the attic.

Cough cough!

Gwen was hit by dust and couldn't help but cover her nose.

Without turning around, Mike said, "There's a new waiter at the restaurant."

"Living here?" Gwen eyed Mike warily, her hand quietly brushing over her phone. "Is it a guy or a girl?"

She had promised Aunt Raven she'd keep an eye on Dad.

Mike came up to her and flicked her forehead. "A guy. What are you thinking?"

"That's good!"

Gwen grinned and looked around the attic.

"Dad, if we clean up the attic and decorate it a bit, it could look pretty nice."

"Heh, that's right."

Mike smiled and nodded, looking at the attic, which was already unrecognizable after some simple furniture was arranged.

"Let's go downstairs. They should be back soon."

The two went downstairs, and just as Mike prepared dinner, Clark and Thor came back carrying big bags.

After bringing the things up to the attic, Mike introduced Gwen to Thor, and welcomed Thor's arrival with a hearty dinner.

And so… Thor's working life officially began.
