Marvel: Dragon King

Chapter 21: CH 21: Everyone's Lives

Ragnar shielded his eyes, feeling the warmth of the morning sun as it streamed through his window. He rolled over, stretching languidly, a contented sigh escaping his lips. Yawning, he sat up, a happy smile spreading across his face.

He loved the feeling of a new day, most importantly an undisturbed sleep but his contentment was short-lived.

A notification from the Chat Group System blinked insistently on his sight, reminding him of the pending business he'd been avoiding since finishing the chores yesterday.

Ragnar grinned as he contemplated the messages he knew were waiting. 'Sona should already believe me,' he thought then began thinking about the items he could get making his mouth water as he opened the Chat Group System expectantly.

[Viking Warrior]: @Wyrmling Shameless Dragon wake up!

Ragnar's eyes widened slightly, 'Can members mention other titles now,' he wondered in amusement as he tried it.

[Wyrmling]: @Viking Warrior What do you want?

[Wyrmling]: And how did you figure out how to mention someone?

[Viking Warrior]: Sona said you scammed her!

[Viking Warrior]: Sona was the one that figured it out I think she hasn't slept because of you!

[Wyrmling]: Sorry, Sorry, @Sona what do you want?

Ragnar cleared his throat trying to hide his shame as he began to check if Sona sent something to him.

[Shitori Sona sent Wyrmling a Mail]

[Do you wish to accept?]

[Yes/No]

When Ragnar accepted Sona's mail, a potion with golden lines and red tip appeared in his hand, 'A whole Phenex Tears,' Ragnar thought as he shook it a little making the red liquid swirl.

[Loony Lovegood]: Good morning Mr.Dragon

[Wyrmling]: Good morning and I'm not old.

Ragnar began to think if his past memories were counted maybe he is old.

[Loony Lovegood]: How old are you? Are you the same like us I'm 8

Luna excitedly as she felt if the dragon's age was the same as her she could befriend him easily.

[Wyrmling]: I'm not, I'm 9 this year.

Ragnar sighed of relief seeing Luna was still eight years old, 'That means her mother hasn't encountered an accident,' he thought remembering it was when Luna was nine that her mother died from experimenting on a spell.

[Viking Warrior]: I'm 10, looks like I'm older than you!

Astrid couldn't help but smirk, feeling a sense of victory over the dragon. She walked deeper into the forest, her eyes narrowing as she heard footsteps behind her.

Astrid picked up a branch on the ground and hurriedly hid behind a tree, waiting for the right moment to strike.

"Where is she," Hiccup muttered as he looked around trying to find Astrid as he saw her disappear, he followed thinking he could figure out her secret on why she suddenly became stronger.

Astrid suddenly rushed out from behind the tree, waving the branch in her hand. She swung it, aiming for Hiccup's knee.

"Ah!" Hiccup screamed in pain as he knelt down on the ground. "Wait! Wait! Wait! Stop!" He cried, protecting his head with his hands.

"..You!" Astrid stopped, lowering her branch, her eyes narrowed as she recognized the boy who was following her. She remembered seeing him on the field.

"It's you, the chief's kid. And the weirdo!" she said, her voice laced with a mix of annoyance and curiosity.

"Why are you following me?" Astrid said, pointing the branch at Hiccup like a sword.

"I, I just want to be like you," Hiccup whispered. He truly wanted to make his father proud, but he couldn't seem to find his way. He couldn't become like the other Vikings who were meant for battle.

Astrid sighed in understanding. This wasn't the first time someone had expressed a similar desire. She had heard it from Snotlout, Fishlegs, and even the twins. she shook her head throwing down the branch.

"You can't become like me, and you never will," Astrid said coldly. She wanted him to give up on that dream. She knew that her strength came from the system, and it wasn't something that could be replicated.

"You don't know that!? Maybe I'll be liked by the gods too!" Hiccup said, trying to stand up, but he fell flat on the ground.

"Suit yourself," Astrid just took a glance at him before running deeper into the forest. She planned to leave him behind. She knew he couldn't catch up to her with her speed.

'Now let me find where the best place to hide a dragon,' Astrid thought as she ran through the forest as the Mutated Bewilderbeast Egg was about to hatch.

[Shitori Sona]: You're here.

[Shitori Sona]: Do you have information for my future peerage members?

Sona took off her glasses and pinched her nose as she didn't sleep all night trying to figure out more ways to use the chat group and of course waiting for the dragon to appear.

[Wyrmling]: That's what you want?

[Wyrmling]: Don't you want to change peerage members?

Sona eyes narrowed as she put on her glasses, 'Does he mean that my peerage members are weak?' she thought sighing.

[Shitori Sona]: I'll decide, after you tell me who they are.

Ragnar just nod seeing her reply before putting his fingers on his temple closing his eyes trying to remember clearly the details of her peerage members.

[Wyrmling]: Queen, Tsunami Shinra from Shinra clan should be getting isolated right now for her ability to summon supernatural creatures with her mirrors.

[Wyrmling]: Scared Gear: Mirror Alice

Sona eyes widened as she stood up excitedly, 'Sacred Gear,' her eyes shined brightly, 'I need to let my sister find out more information about her,' she knew how important sacred gears are.

[Wyrmling]: Bishop, Momo Hanakai a daughter of someone from a company affiliated with your clan.

[Wyrmling]: Bishop, Reya Kusaka

[Wyrmling]: Knight, Tomoe Meguri

[Wyrmling]: Rook, Yura Tsubasa

[Wyrmling]: The three I only have names.

Ragnar showed a wry smile as he didn't know their information as they aren't important characters in the story or even a strong character.

[Shitori Sona]: it's fine but is that all my peerage members?

Although Sona wasn't troubled as names can already be easier to find a person with her clan connection on earth but her only problem was that it was too few, 'Am I that picky in the future,' she thought.

[Wyrmling]: Actually there's one more, he got a Sacred Gear Vitra absorption line.

Ragnar said as a sly smile appeared on his lips.

[Shitori Sona]: What do you want?

Sona knew Ragnar wanted another thing, she couldn't blame him after all a sacred gear was more important than a Phenex Tears.

[Wyrmling]: Anything that can block mind readers or psychic abilities.

[Shitori Sona]: Do you need it to be wearable?

Sona began to think of items that can match what Ragnar needs as there are too many magical items that can block mind reading or psychic abilities.

[Wyrmling]: Yeah, that's better.

Ragnar couldn't help but smile knowing he succeeded in finding a way for his father, as he jumped off the bed ready to share the news with his parents rushing out of the room.

"Don't jump!" Sicilia shouted as she saw Ragnar jumping from the stairs.

"Mom!" Ragnar shouted excitedly as he ran towards her embracing her, "I found a way to block mind readers!"

Sicilia although happy she still felt worried for Ragnar, as she crouched down, "Did she tell you what she wants?" She couldn't trust a demon just kept sending things that her son needed without any exchange.

Ragnar's eyes rolled as he thought of the reason knowing he couldn't say that he remembered his past life memories.

"Did she say she wanted your soul?" Sicilia asked hurriedly seeing Ragnar wasn't saying anything.

"She didn't, she said she wanted things from our world," Ragnar said hurriedly not wanting his mother to think too much.

Sicilia breathes a sigh of relief before looking towards Elliot, "You father and I will think of something to give her," she said before pulling Ragnar to the table.

"For now you need to eat, after that your father will try to help you control your shape shift," Sicilia said as she smiled softly feeling relaxed as one of their problems was solved.

"Although you look handsome we can't have you being seen by people looking like that," Sicilia said as she pointed at Ragnar's golden horns with amusement.

"Mom, do you think he'll agree? His older than me," Luna asked expectantly as she looked towards her mother who was fixing her hair.

"Of course, being friends doesn't need to be the same age," Pandora said with a soft smile before looking at Luna in the eyes, "Now what did I tell you?". She asked while holding Luna's shoulder.

"Don't say anything about the Chat Group System," Luna muttered as scrunching her nose making a serious expression.

"Good," Pandora said smiling as she rose up from the ground looking at her nervous husband, "That's for you too,"

"I know but it's your grandma we're waiting for," Xenophilius said he began to wipe off the cold sweat dripping over his forehead.

"That's why you practice Occulumency all night," Pandora said as her smile disappeared showing no emotions on her face as she looked at the fireplace in front of them.

"But that shouldn't be enough," Xenophilius muttered as he uses Occulumency as well, yet his wasn't as perfect as Pandora as emotions still appeared on his expression.

Finally a torrent of emerald fire erupted from the fireplace, a swirling vortex of incandescent green that momentarily blinded them.

From the heart of the dying emerald flames, a woman emerged. Her silhouette appeared in the fiery afterglow as she stepped out calmly.

Pandora gasped, her eyes wide with emotion.

Vinda Rosier looked around the room, a slight, knowing smile on her lips as she adjusted to the change in light. Her clothes were neat, her hair perfectly in place. She seemed untouched by the fire she had just unleashed.

"Grandma," Pandora said, her voice choked with emotion. Her expression flickered between relief and fear.

"Good, you still haven't forgotten what I taught you," Vinda said in amusement, her gaze meeting Pandora's for a moment before she turned to Xenophilius.

"Xenophilius," she said, a flicker of acknowledgement in her tone. She set down her suitcase and hugged Pandora tightly. "You've grown," she said, her voice warm, a rare glimpse of tenderness from such a powerful woman.

She released Pandora, her gaze falling upon a young girl who stood observing the scene with wide, curious eyes.

"You must be Luna," Vinda smiled softly, a sense of warmth radiating from her. "I heard from your mother. You have a great affinity with magical animals." She turned towards the suitcase, picking it up and carrying it to the table.

When Vinda opened it, the suitcase seemed larger on the inside than it possibly could be. She took out a small, ornate teapot, its silver surface shimmering from the light.

"Can you try calling it out?" Vinda asked, placing the teapot on the table.

"It's dangerous!" Pandora exclaimed, her brow furrowed with worry. Her occulumency wavered momentarily, her concern breaking through the mind shield.

Vinda just glanced at Pandora before looking at Luna. "Can you do it?" she asked, a challenging glint in her eyes. She was testing Luna, seeing if she truly possessed the magical affinity she'd heard about.

"What's in it?" Luna asked, her curiosity piqued. She walked closer to the teapot, her gaze fixed on its gleaming surface.

"An Occamy," Vinda replied plainly. "It's a bit shy, but try if you can call it out." Deep inside, she was expecting Luna to succeed.

Luna stood before the teapot. She didn't have to call out the Occamy. It flew out of the teapot, a whirlwind of blue scales and emerald eyes, wrapping itself around Luna's wrist.

"It's amazing," Luna whispered, her voice filled with wonder. She stroked the Occamy's scales, feeling its warmth against her skin.

Xenophilius, who had been watching the scene unfold with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension, stepped forward.

"Vinda, what is the meaning of this?" he asked, his voice filled with concern. He didn't understand why Vinda had brought an Occamy, a creature known for its unpredictable nature, into their home.

Vinda smiled, a subtle glint of amusement in her eyes. "This is not just an Occamy, Xenophilius. This is a gift. A gift for Luna."

Vinda turned to Luna, her eyes filled with warmth. "An Occamy, protects their own, It will be your companion, your friend."

Luna's eyes widened, a sense of awe washing over her. "My friend?" she repeated, her voice filled with a mixture of disbelief and delight.

Vinda nodded, a knowing smile on her lips. "Yes, my dear. Your friend. And your protector."

Pandora stepped closer, her eyes fixed on the Occamy. "It's incredible," she said, her voice tinged of happiness for her daughter.

Luna's gaze drifted to Pandora, a bright smile appearing on her lips. "I'm happy," she whispered, the words seeming almost too big for her to contain.

Vinda observed them, a sense of satisfaction washing over her before her eyes flickered with emotion. 'Her affinity is stronger than I thought,' she mused, a small grin spreading across her lips.

"Have you seen a quidditch match?" Vinda asked, her fingers gently stroking Luna's hair.

The next day, news reverberated throughout the wizarding world, splashed across the front page of the Daily Prophet:

[Moutohora Macaws Mascot Phoenix Disappears.]
