Chapter 240: MD-Chapter 239 Odin’s Scheme

Arthur hadn't forgotten Odin's obsession with sending him to the Hell. Odin had been waiting for Arthur to gain more control over the Tesseract's energy before putting his plan into action.

So when Frigga had told Arthur he could leave, he'd intended to leave immediately. However, he hadn't expected her to trick him, leading him straight to Odin.

At this moment, Arthur genuinely felt resigned, as if ready to face whatever punishment awaited.

"I'm just asking you to meet her. I'm not actually sending you to hell," Odin said, exasperated by Arthur's expression.

Arthur steeled himself. "Fine! Do your worst. I'm not afraid of you!"

Odin's beard twitched in irritation. "Then go!"

He raised his hand, and a beam of rainbow light enveloped Arthur. In the next moment, Arthur vanished without a trace.

---

Frigga reappeared in the throne room, glancing at the visibly annoyed Odin. She couldn't help but laugh. "It's been years since I last saw you this worked up. Even when dealing with Thor recently, you didn't get this angry."

Odin sighed heavily. "What's so wrong with my daughter that he'd reject her?"

"Perhaps he simply doesn't want to be manipulated into something like this," Frigga replied after a moment. "You know, 'free will in love'?"

Odin paused. "Free will? Well, they'll have plenty of it. Whether it's a hundred years or a thousand, all of that time will be theirs to enjoy together."

Frigga blinked, her expression slightly amused. "I think you may have misunderstood the concept of free will in relationships."

She unconsciously mimicked one of Arthur's gestures— a small eye-roll— after spending too much time with him recently.

---

As light and shadows flickered around him, Arthur felt himself land in a muddy, swampy ground. When the light dissipated, he looked up to see a pitch-black sky and a desolate, ominous landscape.

Twisted trees, resembling drooping willows but far more sinister, dotted the barren, dark terrain.

Pulling himself to his feet, Arthur muttered, "What's with this old man? Couldn't even use the Bifrost properly... Has he completely lost it?"

The ground beneath him wasn't quicksand but a black, sticky wetland, exuding a sense of filth. Yet the air was oppressively dry and suffocating, carrying an intense heat.

"This place is a disaster," Arthur said, grimacing. "Not to mention there's no city anywhere around here... Speaking of which, where's Hela?"

Odin had assured him he'd meet Hela, supposedly for a "matchmaking" session in the Hell. But where was she?

And this godforsaken place— was this really the Hell?

Arthur frowned. The movies never depicted this location. Even the fiery scenes from 'Thor: Ragnarok' weren't the Hell but Muspelheim, a fiery realm like Jotunheim was a frozen planet.

But this place... it felt different.

"Now the question is: am I still on Earth, or is this somewhere else entirely?"

Arthur thought for a moment, recalling the lore about Hela. She ruled a realm called Niflheim, which, like the other "-heims," should logically be a planet within the Nine Realms. However, Hela was currently sealed away.

"So this can't be Niflheim," Arthur deduced. "Could it be some kind of pocket dimension on Earth?"

He remembered that in 'Thor: Ragnarok', Hela appeared immediately after Odin's death. This suggested her prison was on Earth.

"The Norwegian coast?" Arthur muttered, glancing up at the dark sky. This place didn't resemble any coastline.

His thoughts raced. "What if this so-called Hell is actually some kind of pocket dimension beneath the ocean?"

While it was only speculation, Arthur knew figuring out his exact location wasn't immediately necessary.

---

What mattered now was survival. Arthur pulled out the ''Thoth Pen'' and found a relatively flat area to draw a teleportation circle. "Here's hoping this works!"

The circle formed as expected, glowing with promise. Excited, Arthur stepped toward it—only for the ground to erupt beneath him.

With a loud bang, the flat area collapsed into a massive pit. The magic from the Thoth Pen scattered, creating a brief whirlwind before vanishing entirely.

"That's it?" Arthur gawked at the aftermath. "It's a scam! I've been duped!"

He realized Odin's plan now. Odin knew Arthur had the Tesseract, making it nearly impossible to trap him anywhere permanently. However, to leave, Arthur first had to figure out where he was.

And the only person who could help him do that was... Hela.

This was Odin's gambit— to force Arthur to meet Hela. She was the key to understanding his location and setting proper coordinates to escape. Until then, he'd remain stuck.

"So that's why he didn't drop me directly in front of her," Arthur muttered through gritted teeth. "That white-haired, white-bearded old trickster... he's definitely not Santa Claus!"

Sighing, Arthur glanced at the Tesseract in his Disassemble space. Without knowing the exact coordinates of this place, recklessly using it could lead to catastrophic results.

For now, there was no choice. If he wanted answers, he had to find Hela.
