Hell's Kitchen
Pietro stood at the door of his apartment, stretching as he looked up at the gray sky and sighed, "Another boring morning."
It had been a month since Alex Ray and Wade Wilson left Hell's Kitchen to venture into another parallel universe.
Although Wanda was still around, she was busy taking over Wilson Fisk's business and often too occupied to even return home.
Pietro, meanwhile, spent his days mostly helping out at the store and killing time playing video games.
Though he wanted to find something new to do, in this familiar yet unfamiliar city, he found himself growing accustomed to the idle life.
At the same time, Caine took his daughter to school every day, becoming a charming fixture of the Hell's Kitchen Community School.
The Hell's Kitchen Community College had completed all formalities, enrollment was finished, and classes were successfully underway.
Though Caine hadn't succeeded as principal, he remained optimistic, wearing an innocent smile every day.
His daughter was also very popular at school—her intelligence, liveliness, and cheerfulness winning the affection of her classmates.
Dr. Ho Yinsen taught chemistry at the school, passionate about his work and enjoying every day.
Recently, he had invited a friend to come teach in Hell's Kitchen as well. This new teacher was Adrian Toomes, who held a Ph.D. in electrical engineering.
Toomes had been searching for a sponsor to realize his dream of flight, and Wilson Fisk agreed on the condition that Toomes teach at the school.
If Alex Ray saw this engineering doctor here, he would definitely be embarrassed. After dealing with a vulture from a parallel universe, now the vulture from his own world had come to work under him as a teacher.
Since retiring, Wilson Fisk had become the principal of Hell's Kitchen School. His reputation was well-known—both students and parents respected him and dared not cause trouble.
Fisk enjoyed his daily life, visiting his students and his son Richard in the morning, then going shopping with his wife Vanessa in the afternoon.
"Good morning, Pietro! Good morning, Uncle John!" Peter Parker's bright voice rang as he bounded down the apartment stairs, greeting Pietro and the building's security guard, John Wick.
His smile was like morning sunshine, lighting up the entire hallway.
Peter made his way to the restaurant's door, pulling dog food from his backpack to feed Deadpool.
However, no matter how much he called or lured him, Deadpool simply lay on the ground, indifferent—as if uninterested in the food.
"Peter, stop fooling around. Go to class." Aunt May emerged from the cafeteria with a stern expression, scolding Peter.
May was now a waitress and cashier at Good Luck Restaurant. Though busy, she still kept an eye on Peter's schooling and well-being.
John Wick, sitting nearby, watched the scene quietly and said softly to Peter, "Deadpool doesn't eat dog food. He only eats human food, just like us."
His voice was steady and calming, reassuring in its tone.
Peter glanced between Deadpool and the dog food, muttering reluctantly, "He's obviously a dog, but he has to eat like a human?"
His words were full of helpless confusion, and he shook his head before turning away.
Deadpool, annoyed by the brat's comment, suddenly stood, hand reaching for his gun to teach Peter a lesson.
Pietro, standing nearby, quickly stepped forward to calm Deadpool. "It's just a kid. Don't get angry."
With Pietro's soothing words, Deadpool calmed and glared at Peter before sitting back down to lie once more.
Pietro sighed watching Peter's retreating back. This kid is so mischievous.
"John, you've gotten lazier lately. You just sit there every morning doing nothing. Isn't it boring?" Pietro complained to John Wick.
The John of old, despite his cold exterior, had some passion for life—joining activities, showing his unique skills.
Now, he seemed uninterested in anything, sitting like a statue by the apartment door every day.
Gone was his black suit, replaced by a large white mink coat he wore daily.
His changed image made Pietro wonder if this was still the same John Wick.
Feeling helpless, Pietro wished to go out with John and enjoy life's pleasures, but John always refused with various excuses.
He wanted John to play games, but John's eyes held a stubborn determination, lost in his own world.
Since John merged with the template of Wolverine Stark, the First Blade of Death, his personality had grown more similar to that fierce persona.
Yet John himself seemed indifferent to these changes. He enjoyed retirement—sitting as apartment security with a thermos in hand, watching passersby, enjoying peace.
"This is the retirement I want—so comfortable," John said, resting his chin on his hand, eyes shining with satisfaction.
He had found his way of life, free from the outside world's chaos, enjoying tranquility and contentment.
But some people always wanted to disrupt this peace.
A burly man in a black suit approached the restaurant, his serious expression radiating oppression.
He stopped before John and Pietro and asked in a deep voice, "Excuse me, is Mr. Alex Ray home?"
Pietro turned to the man—Crossbones, whom he had seen two or three times this month.
"Alex Ray hasn't come back yet. It's not that he doesn't want to see you. Didn't I tell you, if you have problems, go to my sister? She can make decisions." Pietro said impatiently.
Crossbones's expression shifted, dissatisfaction flashing in his eyes.
He had come to win over Alex Ray on Director Pierce's orders but was annoyed to find him absent repeatedly.
Coldly, he asked, "Then can you tell me where he is? It's been almost a month."
Pietro shrugged helplessly, lying, "I really don't know. Sometimes he travels for weeks and can't be reached."
He knew where Alex was but couldn't tell anyone—Alex was saving people in another parallel universe.
If Pietro hadn't actually seen a parallel universe, he wouldn't believe it himself.
Crossbones fell silent, pondering his next move.
He knew Alex's importance and what Director Pierce expected.
He couldn't give up and needed to find a way to locate Alex.
Just then, the restaurant door opened, and a figure stepped out—Alex Ray himself.
Seeing Crossbones, he smiled and said, "Excuse me, are you looking for me?"
