Chapter 105: ch-105 - Gwen Also Wants to Try the New Uniform
"Bang!"
Gwen landed in the alley and quickly located the source of the metallic tang of blood.
Under the dim glow of a flickering streetlight, a woman lay sprawled on the ground. Gwen darted to her side, her pulse quickening as she assessed the situation.
The pungent smell of blood was overpowering. The woman's neck was slashed, blood gushing from a vicious wound that looked as though it had been inflicted by a wild beast. The crimson liquid pooled beneath her, painting the pavement in a macabre tableau.
The woman, still barely conscious, turned pleading eyes toward Gwen, her breathing shallow and erratic. She struggled to speak, but the gash in her throat rendered her attempts futile, producing only faint gurgles.
Gwen frantically looked around for something to staunch the bleeding, her hands trembling. But before she could act, the woman's labored breaths ceased. Her head lolled to the side as her life slipped away.
"She's gone," Peter said somberly, appearing beside Gwen.
He crouched to examine the lifeless body, his jaw tightening at the sight. The throat wound was deep, and the blood loss catastrophic.
"Vampire?" Peter murmured, a grim expression on his face.
Gwen looked up, startled. "A vampire? Are you serious?"
Before Peter could respond, a shadow darted past them. Gwen's instincts kicked in, and she took off in pursuit, shooting her web to swing between the buildings.
"Get back here!" she shouted, her voice echoing through the alley.
The figure moved with inhuman speed, but Gwen was faster. She fired a web at the figure's back, but it evaded her with an agile roll.
"Bang!"
The figure landed on a rooftop, only to be intercepted by Peter, who delivered a crushing punch to its face.
The impact sent the figure sprawling. Blood sprayed into the air, and Peter pinned the figure to the ground with a foot pressed firmly on its chest.
The hooded figure hissed, revealing its grotesque, pockmarked face. Bald and disfigured, it bore fangs that gleamed in the moonlight.
"Who are you?" Gwen demanded, her voice laced with anger. "Did you kill that woman?"
The creature snarled but didn't answer. Peter pressed harder, eliciting a pained groan.
"Talk," Peter ordered coldly.
"We will take over the world!" the creature spat defiantly.
Peter leaned closer, his voice low and menacing. "How do you plan to do that?"
The creature convulsed, its face contorting in agony. Suddenly, it began to decompose, its body bubbling and melting into a viscous, foul-smelling liquid.
Gwen stumbled back, horrified. "What the hell just happened?"
Peter crouched, examining the remnants. "Self-destruction. Something inside him triggered this."

Later, Gwen sat on her rooftop, her mind racing. The events of the night played on a loop in her head—the mysterious vampire, its chilling words, and its gruesome demise.
She took out her phone, scrolling to the now-viral photo of Antonia Aguilar, the so-called "Vampire Princess." Her beauty was mesmerizing, almost supernatural.
Lost in thought, Gwen muttered, "Maybe I should ask Peter to make me a new uniform. Something like hers…"
But the idea of wearing such a revealing outfit made her cheeks flush.

Meanwhile, in a secluded estate on the outskirts of New York, Antonia Aguilar practiced her boxing. Each punch landed with explosive force, showcasing her supernatural strength.
After a grueling session, she collapsed onto a nearby bench and grabbed her tablet. The photo of her that had gone viral was still trending, and the comments flooded in.
"Collins," she called, addressing her butler.
"Yes, Miss Aguilar?"
"Why are people so obsessed with this photo? And what do they mean by 'famous'? I don't care for fame."
Collins smiled knowingly. "It means you're a topic of interest, Miss. But fame comes with its own challenges."
Antonia scoffed. "I am the daughter of the night. Fame is meaningless to me."
"Even so," Collins replied, "your notoriety may attract unwanted attention. Be cautious."
Antonia leaned back, her crimson eyes glinting. "Let them come. They'll find I'm not so easy to deal with."
