Marvel 1919 : Rise of an Empire

Chapter 162: Pym Particles

George had finished arranging Dr. Zola's research assignment when good news arrived from Bucky.

Dr. Hank Pym, a high-priority target under surveillance, had successfully created stable Pym Particles.

The main challenge was Pym's caution. Brilliant scientists with exceptional IQs were difficult targets. Ordinary surveillance methods rarely worked on them.

Only Pym could enter his core laboratory. The facility was completely secured.

Bucky had deduced the successful experiment from daily application forms. Normally, Pym used ten monkeys each day for controlled experiments instead of human subjects. Ten monkeys had been used today as usual, but tomorrow's materials list included no monkeys.

The implication was clear.

George had wanted Pym Particles for a long time. They were among the most powerful tools in the Marvel Universe.

Dr. Hank Pym had created two important inventions: Pym Particles, based on quantum research, and a controller that communicated with ants.

George already possessed strong mental abilities, so he didn't need the ant controller. Pym Particles were different.

Pym Particles could change the size of people and objects. When exposed to these particles, a person or object could grow larger or shrink smaller at will.

A normal human could grow to approximately 30 meters tall or shrink to 1.27 centimeters. Physical strength increased when they shrank.

Later, Pym had studied ant behavior and created an electronic helmet that communicated with ants directly. This allowed him to become Ant-Man, who could shrink and control ant colonies.

Pym's paranoia meant he never created Pym Particles in front of others. This security measure wasn't particularly difficult for George to overcome.

That night, at the Triskelion

George emerged from the Mirror Dimension only after Pym had left his laboratory completely.

George first used Time Magic to review Pym's entire experimental process in reverse. Then he took one tube of Pym Particles from the storage cabinet and activated his time reversal ability.

Every step of the creation process appeared clearly before him.

After returning the tube to its original position and using time reversal to learn the manufacturing methods of all experimental equipment, George was satisfied with his intelligence gathering.

Many of Pym's instruments were self-made and couldn't be purchased elsewhere. George erased all traces of his presence with magic and teleported back to his castle.

In his castle laboratory, George gathered materials and constructed an identical set of equipment based on what he had observed.

Four hours later, a small tube of Pym Particles appeared in George's hand.

George picked up a Pym particle patch he had created and attached it to an ordinary pen on the lab bench.

With a sudden pop, the pencil grew enormous, pushing other items on the bench to the floor with a crash. George pressed the controller to return the pencil to normal size, then waved his hand to restore the bench with magic. He smiled in satisfaction.

This mechanical controller suited people without mental powers, but George could design something better for his abilities. His spatial manipulation would let him control where the Pym patch appeared, making it more unexpected and devastating.

Soon after, the Moon Base construction was completed. It had taken one full year to finish, but currently only robotic systems maintained the entire base.

To improve this, George began mass producing cloned humans. He planned to implant technical skills directly into these clones, saving them from traditional learning processes.

In George's plan, future space battleships and orbital bases would be operated by these clones, with robots providing support.

Robots had low accident rates but lacked the flexibility and decision making of human operators.

George had numerous important tasks. He needed to continue researching shapeshifting genetics and conduct experiments on nanotechnology suit development. He also had to maintain daily meditation for magical advancement. Dr. Zola's arrival had reduced much of his research burden.

On Christmas Eve 1973, George hosted a grand ball. He invited prominent U.S. political figures and important business partners of the Orwell Group.

Seventy years had passed since George's rebirth in this world. Although George could claim he maintained his youthful appearance through youth enhancement potions, the potions sold to customers didn't actually prolong life significantly.

George felt it was time to create a suitable successor for himself and his business empire.

His method was direct. He held this public ball, then manifested a Shadow Clone to serve as his son, George II, and announced his existence to the guests.

For aristocratic obligations, George and Alice returned to England after Christmas and completed all necessary procedures. When his clone stood beside him, no one would doubt the child's authenticity. The family resemblance was striking.

George and Alice rarely appeared at public events. By explaining that they didn't want to affect the child's normal development, they hadn't previously disclosed his information. Everyone accepted this explanation.

George also arranged for the clone, operating as his son, to meet formally with the company's senior executives and board members.

By the time all matters were handled, half a year had passed. The Orwell Group's vast structure meant that an official heir couldn't be introduced with a simple press conference.

For some time, George would maintain this clone in public view, which would help stabilize the company's stock value and investor confidence.

George himself had returned to the castle with Alice. Alice continued her magical training to improve her spellcasting abilities, while George began preparing for travel to a new dimensional plane.

The DC Universe was a large plane similar to the Marvel Universe. George had previously visited its derivative plane during his time in the Suicide Squad world.

Before heading to the main DC Universe, George planned to conduct a major draw from the system. Unlike previous draws that cost 1 energy point per item, George planned to spend 50 years worth of energy accumulation, 18,250 energy points total, on this single draw.

The DC Universe contained many powerful items, such as Aquaman's Trident of Atlan, Mother Boxes with reality altering capabilities, and numerous other artifacts.

Since drawing Nicolas Flamel's alchemical abilities from the Harry Potter world, George hadn't spent large amounts of energy on item draws for some time. The reason was simple: there were too few planes worth drawing from at his current power level.

Many items in other dimensions could already be acquired through his current strength and abilities, making it inefficient to spend precious energy obtaining them through the system.

George estimated that his dimensional space now contained energy equivalent to approximately 500 years of normal accumulation.

Such an amount wasn't surprising. His ability borrowers throughout the Marvel Universe provided significant energy. Even in the Naruto world, with its time flow ratio of 1:10, George could accumulate vast reserves of power.
