Chapter 18: Karma
Julius was coming home from work by bus. After reflecting a lot on his situation, he decided that he would stay at his job until he managed to sell two coins.
This way, he would have enough savings for one year to sustain himself.
Once he got two [Samsara Coins], he would quit his job and focus only on becoming an excavator.
In doing so, he could finally stop being a slave to modern capitalism!
And he would finally be on the other side!
"I can't wait to become a successful excavator and have multiple employees to serve me." This had become one of Julius' main goals.
To do so, he was on his way to one of the [Association] offices. Even though he had already checked the ad about three times, he still wanted to make sure it wasn't some kind of scam.
That's why he researched online to see if the [Association] had an office in his city. When he saw that one of the offices was near his work, Julius decided to go there and check it out for himself!
Also, he intended to sell his first [Samsara Coin] today!
"If they regret this, at least I'll have earned some credits from this outburst!"
To be honest, he still felt that this situation was too good to be true. It seemed like all the coincidences were aligning to bring more good luck to Julius!
And this had never happened to him before!
Getting off the bus, Julius found himself in front of a large black building.
Not wanting to wait long, he quickly entered the building and went to the reception.
"Good evening, how can I help you?" A sweet and elegant voice came from one of the three attendants working today.
The girl had short blonde hair, blue eyes, and a cute face.
Julius didn't pay much attention to that since he had a much more important mission today!
"Another player who will complain about not being able to create another avatar after dying! Damn, they still haven't understood that I'm just a staff member!" The blonde girl thought as soon as she saw Julius walk through the door, as all the other customers up until then had been just that!
It made her feel worse every time she heard the door open.
Even though it was only her first day, she was already creating a trauma she would carry with her for the rest of her life!
"I'd like to sell a [Samsara Coin], please."
"Sir, unfortunately, there's nothing I can do to help you. To get a new avatar and a new chance to play, you need a [Samsara Coin], but they will only be available after someone sells them to us. If you'd like, I can put you on our waiting list."
"Right now, we have only 1,115 people on the waiting list at this branch! Would you like me to register you?"
The girl did what she had done hundreds of times before, not even realizing that Julius had said something different from the other customers.
Snap
The attendant looked sideways, seeing another attendant staring at Julius strangely. "Hm? Why is she staring at him? And hey, clean that gum off your mouth!"
Not understanding why her colleague was staring at Julius, the attendant looked at him more carefully.
"He's actually kind of cute, but not cute enough to make a woman lose herself staring at him."
"Sorry, but I think you heard me wrong. I said I'm here to sell a [Samsara Coin]." Realizing there had been a small mistake, Julius quickly corrected the woman.
The attendant looked at Julius the same way as the previous one, completely in shock and unsure of what to do.
Until now, all the other customers had come to complain and request refunds for the game!
No other player had obtained a coin, at least none who were willing to sell it!
To be completely honest, the girl even forgot what she needed to do if someone actually came in to sell an item!
"Ma'am, is everything alright?" Noticing that all three attendants were staring at him strangely, Julius started to think that maybe this was some kind of prank.
"I'm sorry! I'll send you to one of the rooms, but first I need to register you, sir!" Realizing that he wasn't joking, and that he even seemed a bit irritated with the situation, the attendant became a little nervous.
And she didn't even know why she was nervous; after all, it was just one player with a [Samsara Coin]. She didn't know if the guy came from some prominent family or if he had some kind of successful career, but for some reason, she felt a certain level of respect for him.
The attendant gathered all the necessary information and entered it into the database. After that, she took Julius to one of the rooms behind the reception area.
The room was very simple: a sofa, a table, and two chairs.
Julius waited sitting on the sofa.
Meanwhile,
In one of the rooms on the upper floor, a man with long black hair tied in a ponytail was resting in his office.
*TRING*TRING*TRING
"Hello?" The man answered with a lazy voice, clearly not wanting to waste time with another dissatisfied player.
'I've already given the instructions they need to pass to players. I hope none of them is calling to bother me again.'
"Hello, sir, I sent a player to room 1. Please visit him as soon as possible." The voice was that of the same attendant who had received Julius earlier.
"Look, I already told you what you need to say to the players looking for a new avatar. We don't have any [Samsara Coins] yet, just put him on the waiting list."
"But sir, he's here to sell a [Samsara Coin]."
'That's why I said to only hire people from the three families, these people don't know how to do anything.' He was about to hang up when he heard something that caught his attention.
"Wait, what did you say!?" He thought he had heard wrong, just as the attendant had also thought.
"The player Tyrant is here to sell a [Samsara Coin]." The attendant couldn't believe the information, after all, she had gone through the same situation.
"Are you sure he didn't say he wanted to buy a coin and you misunderstood?"
"No, sir, I'm sure he wants to sell a coin."
"Send me his information urgently." The man went back to his office desk and powered up a laptop.
"I've already sent it to your email, sir." The attendant responded promptly, knowing that Julius was practically the first customer of the association. That's why he was of certain importance.
Little did she know, that was just the tip of the iceberg.
The man opened the email and quickly started reading the information, but became angry when he noticed that the information he wanted wasn't there.
"Hey, what the hell is the color of his karma!?" He slammed his hand on the desk in frustration, making the attendant on the other side of the line jump.
"S-Sorry, si-rr. What do you m-mean?" She asked, a little worried since it seemed she had angered her boss on her first day at work!
"FUCK IT, I'll do it myself." He hung up the phone, leaving the attendant almost crying at the reception, thinking she'd be fired.
But it wasn't her fault. For the information the man wanted, there was nothing she could do.
The man hurriedly left the room with a silver-colored deep plate.
"Hello, sir, are you having a good day?" One of the employees, who was trying to take advantage of the moment to suck up to the boss, tried to stop the man as he made his way to the elevator.
"GET OUT OF MY WAY!" The man, not caring about any labor laws, pushed the subordinate against the wall to pass more quickly.
"W-what?" Meanwhile, the employee was confused about what he had done wrong.
'Doesn't anyone in this damn company know what they're doing!?' The man with the ponytail grumbled as he entered the elevator and headed to the reception to attend to the first customer of the [Association] in the world.

Meanwhile, Julius waited calmly in the room.
He had only been there for less than 10 minutes, so he was trying to be patient.
'Those bastards are trying to make me give up my 10,000 credits! I'll stay here until tomorrow if I have to!' It was becoming increasingly clear to him that they were trying to draw him into a battle of patience!
But he wouldn't lose!
He would show those damn capitalists that he would wait even eternity to get his money!
And it was at that moment that the door to the room opened, revealing a man wearing an expensive-looking suit, a handsome but unremarkable face, and he was quite tall, almost two meters tall but also quite thin.
"Sorry for the delay! I hear you're here to sell a [Samsara Coin], Mr. Tyrant!" The man sat down in one of the chairs in front of Julius.
"No problem." Julius just wanted to get his credits and get out of there as quickly as possible to get more credits by earning more [Samsara Coins]
If the celestial consciousness were present on planet Earth, Julius would have just earned another mission.
[The celestial will gives you a new mission: Fail the association]
[Reward: 1x Samsara Coin]
Unfortunately, he didn't actually receive this mission or else he could even earn one more coin through it!The man, unaware of Julius' missions, placed a deep silver plate on the table in front of the sofa where Julius was sitting.
"Before we proceed with the purchase, could you please place your hands on this plate?"
The man extended his hand and pointed to the deep plate in front of Julius, causing the latter to frown.
'They still want to test my patience?' Thinking it was just another way to try to get him to give up on the purchase, Julius decided to end it quickly. He moved his hand to the silver plate and felt the coldness of the metal as soon as his fingers touched the object.
When he touched the object, it began to change color.A reddish hue began to take over the silver plate.
The man's ponytail-wearing gaze was still full of expectation, as if that were only the beginning.
And he couldn't have been more right.
After red, the plate turned orange.
Then yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet
For a second, the plate wanted to change color again, this time several of the previous colors began to coexist, forming a rainbow.
But it only lasted a second before returning to violet.
'A violet karma!? He has a firmament-grade [Celestial Judgment]!?'I think the highest I've ever seen was a blue one before...'The ponytail man didn't have an appropriate reaction to this, but he knew what he had to do.
'I have to recruit him for the three families. A talent like that is wasted on a mundane!'
