Chapter 15: Asahah Treasure
The group was gathering the [Destiny Cores] from the bodies of the wolves and dividing them among themselves.
In total, 7 [Destiny Cores] were available to the group, leaving Eleonor with just one, while the others each took 2 multicolored stones.
Without wasting time, Julius absorbed the [Destiny Cores] and received system alerts.
[+4 points in primary attributes, +2 points in secondary attributes, +1 point in tertiary attributes]
[Destiny smiles upon you: +1 Samsara Coin]
[Your treasure Asahah received a Samsara Coin (1/5)]
The last two notifications took Julius by surprise, as he hadn't expected to receive [Samsara Coins] from the [Destiny Cores], considering he had only received attribute points until now.
"It seems that [Destiny Cores] are useful for more than just strengthening my abilities. Could I get something else from absorbing the stones, besides [Samsara Coins]?" Julius felt like a child, discovering new things more and more.
Each new piece of information made him even more excited about this new world.
He couldn't explain why, but it felt like, for some reason, this world seemed more real than Earth itself...
It was a feeling he had since entering [The Gates], but it seemed to be growing stronger the longer he stayed here.
"What is this Asahah treasure?" Julius' attention returned to the notifications, focusing on the second unexpected alert.
For some reason, he felt like he had heard that name before, but couldn't remember where. This turned the treasure into a complete and absolute mystery to him, though he had a strange sense that he knew the name.
"Asahah?" Julius felt as if he had forgotten a word, but at the same time, it was on the tip of his tongue, causing him extreme frustration.
"Somehow, it's related to the [Samsara Coins]." That was the only clue Julius had about the treasure, and for some reason, an image of a leather pouch with some decorations resembling gold appeared in his mind.
The strangest part of it all was that Julius couldn't remember where that image of the pouch came from!
He was certain he had never seen a pouch like that before.
Julius was so sure he had seen it before because the decoration patterns were quite unique, making them memorable.
Each symbol was different, but each one represented some kind of animal.
Julius couldn't exactly recognize the animals, since those specific creatures didn't seem to exist in his world.
Still, the figures were very clear and memorable, making it impossible for Julius to forget them. At least, he would likely remember where he had seen that pouch.
It was as if someone had just dropped that memory into his head, without providing any reason for placing it there.
Even though he now knew what the treasure was, he still didn't know what it was for.
He tried his best to remember where he had seen the pouch, hoping to figure out its function.
"No, this is definitely not something from my memory! Could it be from the game?" It wouldn't be the first time [The Gates] messed with his mind. The first time something like this happened, Julius had a mission appear right in front of him after the game read his thoughts.
After a while, he gave up and tried to focus on something else.
He returned to focusing on his desire to explore more of this world, to adventure further into the infinite new things that seemed to lie ahead of him.
"Status." With an increasing adventurous spirit inside him, Julius called up his status to check his progress.

His strength was directly tied to the safety he would have in his adventures, so Julius wanted to grow stronger to dive deeper into the exciting sensation of discovering something new.
Looking at his attributes, Julius was pleased with the changes. "I'm slowly getting stronger."
Facing the enraged earlier made Julius realize he wasn't as strong as he thought. Of course, he was better than most players, but he still didn't seem much stronger than the demons.
In fact, only a single spell from a demon had nearly killed him. If it hadn't been for the village having an evolved cultivator, the village would likely have been overrun by demons that night.
Not knowing the demons' rate of evolution, Julius wasn't sure how long the village would remain safe for him. "At the moment, only a single evolved cultivator is enough to handle the demons, but what if that's no longer enough?"
The only safe place the players had wouldn't be so protected anymore, putting them in increasing danger.
"Do the developers want to make the game as difficult as possible?" To be honest, Julius wasn't sure if the players would remain safe inside the village for another week, when the carriage would arrive to pick them up. "What will we do if the village falls before then?"
No matter the scenario, Julius couldn't see a good solution.
It was at that moment that Julius' attention was stolen by the words of the [Assassin].
"Should we chase the white wolf?" Katharina, who seemed quite excited about the hunt, asked after the group had gathered and absorbed all the [Destiny Cores].
The group heard this and fell silent. Everyone had at least considered going after the white wolf, but in the end, it was Frans who made the decision.
"No. Eleonor and I aren't in the best condition. Even with Julius here, I don't think it's a good idea to face the beast unless the group is at 100%." Frans assessed the situation and decided against the idea after much contemplation.
"We don't know how strong that wolf is. Even with this young man's absurd strength, we can't know if we really have what it takes to deal with the creature." In the end, Frans chose not to put anyone at unnecessary risk.
Sigh. "I'm glad you guys don't want to chase that wolf. My MANA is almost halfway gone. Dad really found himself in a tough spot multiple times."
"Even if it was just one moment, dealing with 5 creatures at once isn't easy!"
"Well, we know what we need to do. Before hunting the white wolf, we should look for the smaller wolves and strengthen ourselves." Julius suggested, and everyone in the group agreed.
"Yes, let's do that. I'll go ahead to look for any creatures nearby, and if I find any, I'll call you." Katharina sheathed her dagger and used [Vanish] once again.
Seeing this, the remaining three sat on nearby fallen logs and waited for Katharina to return with information.
"This is how you hunt in a group. Not bad." Julius thought, trying to get comfortable.
It was still early in the morning, around 9:00 AM at most, so the group was relaxed and had plenty of time.
It didn't take long for Katharina to return with some new targets in mind.
She explained to the group about some wolves she had found separated from a pack.
In the end, there were exactly 4 wolves, making it the perfect target for them.
Not wanting to wait any longer, Julius and the others, who had already been waiting for Katharina for almost 10 minutes, were ready to leave.
"Let's go!" Eleonor shouted excitedly and was ready for another hunt.
The group gathered and allowed Katharina to guide them to the location where she had spotted the wolves.
With that, the group, which was slowly gaining some infamy among the forest dwellers, ventured deeper into the trees.
