Chapter 558: Army of Kiernan's
The meeting ended, and Kiernan returned back to the abandoned, dilapidated house, which was as dark as the sky outside.
He pulled out a stack of papers and tossed them into the air, and they turned into puppets of him with exact replicas of his face and clothing.
The empty house was now full of his puppets—every room was filled to the brim—and despite it being so cramped, the puppets didn't show a look of discomfort.
"Find a woman of red rose, sleep with them, and when you've witnessed their death, turn into fire and ash."
Kiernan said, pushing the brim of his hat down, and the puppets gave "yes, sir" before heading out of the house.
Thankfully, it was deep in the night, and the surrounding streets were rather empty.
Otherwise it would've been quite a sight for Rodero's citizens to see close to a hundred identical-looking people leave the abandoned house.
Kiernan stayed in the abandoned house, staring out of the square-shaped window of the room, and watched as the puppets slowly left.
While the paper puppets didn't know the city of Rodero as well as he did, they were actually programmed as tracking puppets.
With just a piece of information about the red rose, they knew exactly where they should go, and most of the puppets headed straight to the Lovely Flower Sect.
It was a nice and spacious compound close to the edge of the city—on top of a small hill—and it was quite a distance away from any other buildings, which gave them the privacy they desired.
'It's late in the night, so I am not surprised that most of those women are in the Lovely Flower Sect. Those puppets need to be careful not to get caught, and be very smart about it.
'However, Genevieve herself 'programmed' these paper puppets, and she seems quite proud about them.'
Kiernan crossed his arms and just waited.
…
Wunderland, Rodero, Donald's Road.
With an expensive-looking fur coat draped over her shoulders, Beatrice left the house of a wealthy merchant.
It was also going to be the last time that anyone saw the wealthy merchant alive, as she, after the encounter with Kiernan, got injured.
Therefore, to get rid of her injuries and grow stronger, she found someone to do the Arghman's Ceremony with.
It was easy; even though the wealthy merchant had a pretty wife, he still fell victim to Beatrice's charms.
It was easy because the wealthy merchant knew that his wife was with him for his money, while Beatrice truly acted out of genuine affection for him.
At least, that's what he thought, but it was just Beatrice playing mind games with him, and it was the last mistake he was ever going to make.
She made her way down the cobblestone street, the cold whistling wind accompanying her, and she was heading back to the Lovely Flower Sect.
At that moment, through a window of the Green Grass Pub, she was able to see a familiar sight of the gray-haired young man sitting by the bar.
It was none other than Kiernan Hunter, or Irik Abraham, as Beatrice knows him—she was sure of it—and her feet came to a halting stop with her heart racing.
'Should I contact Evelyn? No… why should I? She is such a selfish woman, always wanting the good ones for herself. I don't think he knows that I had anything to do with the previous attack on him.
'I was wearing a mask…'
Beatrice touched her hair, took off the rose hair attachment in case Kiernan recognized it, and entered the pub.
With drunken gazes, the pub patrons gazed over at her, whistled with dirty comments, and tried to get her to join them for a drink.
She ignored it all, walked to the bar, and said.
"Whiskey with rocks, please~"
Beatrice smiled, sat on the stool, and to keep up her act of ignorance, she didn't dare to look at Kiernan.
"Ah, it's you…"
At that moment, Kiernan looked at her with a surprised look, and he was clearly a little bit tipsy from the alcohol he had consumed.
"Oh, Irik~"
Beatrice beamed with a smile, moved her hair over her ear, and put her chin on her hand to make herself look more alluring.
"What are you doing here?"
She asked, and at that moment, she noticed that Kiernan wasn't wearing his ring anymore and looked surprised.
"Ah… I got dumped. After everything I did for her, she believes that I was cheating on her because there was a scent of a woman back at my place.
"She didn't believe that I didn't, but aye, it is what it is. I should've never gotten engaged…"
Kiernan said with a deep sigh and gulped down his sorrows with the rest of his drink.
"Really? How horrible…"
Beatrice said with a sad look, touched his hand to comfort him, and said.
"If you want to talk, I am here for you. I know how it feels to be dumped because of misunderstanding, I truly do."
She said while trying to hide her smile.
She couldn't believe that their plan actually worked. It was thought to be a complete failure. She couldn't believe her luck!
Kiernan looked at her with flushed cheeks. It was clear that he was very drunk. And he clearly wasn't able to think clearly.
He rubbed her hand with his thumb in a very suggestive manner, but then, he pulled his hand back, paid for the drink, and scratched the back of his head.
"Ugh, I should go…"
"Already? Why don't you stay for a few more drinks?"
Beatrice asked with a beautiful smile.
"I… burp… I think I've drunk enough already. I need to head home now."
Kiernan stumbled to his feet, but then Beatrice helped him to stand and helped him to walk to the door.
"I can't leave you like this. Why don't I take you to your house?"
Beatrice asked.
"Okay… Thanks…"
Kiernan mumbled, leaning on her for support as they made their way towards the exit, and then they left.
While that was happening, the army of paper puppets made their way to the Lovely Flower Sect, which had become quiet as some were heading to the bed.
In that moment, most of them heard a knock on their doors, and when they came to open, they were shocked to see Kiernan standing outside.
The paper puppet Kiernan's collapsed, as if they had been poisoned, and the shocked women looked at the handsome faces of Kiernan in surprise.
They thought about contacting Evelyn for a moment, but they got rid of that idea and dragged Kiernan's inside their rooms.
The same exact scene happened with every woman of the Lovely Flower Sect. It was clear that they didn't want Evelyn to have all the fun.
For a moment, they wondered why Kiernan would have come inside the Lovely Flower Sect, knowing that they were basically enemies, but since he was so helpless in front of them, they didn't mind having some fun with him!
It was because the paper puppets looked so real, and they didn't believe for a moment that 'Kiernan' inside their rooms could be fake.
