Chapter 218: Spinning the Lottery Wheel
"Do you think he is speaking the truth?"
Azura asked, her beautiful blue eyes sparkling with innocence.
She was sitting on her knees on the floor, a knee-high table in front of her. The table had a six-pointed star drawn and the six words of virtue while the candles were flickering in the dimly lit room.
It was a grand-looking bedroom, with a large four-poster bed and luxurious velvet curtains hanging around the windows.
A bedroom suitable for royalty, that's for sure.
Sitting across from her, Amara slowly filled her pouches with the needed gold coins.
100,000 gold coins was a large amount. She wasn't just carrying that around, but for these trades, she usually had a treasure chest hidden in this room of hers.
The treasure had about 500,000 gold coins in it.
"Do I think he is speaking the truth? Well…"
Amara placed two pouches in the middle of the six-pointed star. Each carried 50,000 gold coins. Then, Azura did the same with her own pouch.
She was basically giving away her allowance for this month. Read new chapters at My Virtual Library Empire
"I am not too sure. I've come across very strange items in my time. I've seen machines that can change the weather. I've seen engines that can lift islands into the air. I've seen guns that can shatter mountains with a single bullet.
"However, this lottery wheel item he is speaking of is stranger than even those. I won't immediately discount it as impossible, but I will definitely need more information.
"I think that person might be a collector with a wide variety of strange and powerful artifacts. He could use the disguise of a lottery wheel to just sell those items to us at an exaggerated price.
"That's why I told him to pay me back if the value doesn't match. I am still curious, though, about what items he will give to us."
Amara said to her dear disciple.
"What if it is real? Let's pretend for once."
Azura said with a smile.
"If it is real, it's definitely legendary treasure. However, the item one receives will be absolutely random, like that Sword of Maraketh.
"That Sword of Maraketh must've been somewhere in this world. Does this lottery wheel just 'steal' that item from somewhere in the world and teleport it into Revenant's hands?"
Amara said with a concerned expression. These legendary items were always feisty and unpredictable.
"I never thought about that…"
Azura replied, her curiosity about Revenant increasing even more.
"I'll contact him that we are ready. Let's see what we get."
Amara said, then picked up her phone from the knee-high table and started typing a message with her flip phone.
[Cold Shade: I am ready]
[Revanant: I am as well]
She then started the countdown once more.
Three, two, one.
"Commercium!"
Amara and Azura shouted, and then cold wind blew from the open balcony, causing the candles to flicker and the table to shake.
…
Swoosh!
The darkness returned to swallow the room, but then, with a flick of the light switch, the light flooded the room and defeated the darkness once more.
Kiernan ran back to the desk, and there were three bulging brown pouches. It was an insane amount of money.
With a wave of his hand, that money got sucked into his system interface, and his total wealth count increased by 150 thousand gold coins.
[+150,000 gold coins]
"Now, let's see…"
Kiernan, with a shake in his hand, opened the lottery wheel.
The transparent, light blue lottery wheel appeared in the air in front of him. It was cold to the touch, and it glowed like a radioactive jewel.
'I guess all I need to do is spin the wheel? It doesn't have any other option.'
Kiernan touched the wheel, and then with force,he spun it as hard as he could.
The wheel started spinning rapidly, and 50,000 gold coins disappeared from the system balance. It was like an invisible hand came and grabbed it all away.
The words blurred as the lottery wheel moved.
Click! Click! Click!
The sound it was making was quite loud, making Kiernan hope that no one else would be able to hear it from outside.
After a short moment, the lottery wheel's momentum started to halt, and it slowly rolled to the stop.
Ding!
It stopped at "Sparkweed."
'Sparkweed…?'
[Congratulations!]
[You received 'Sparkweed' from the lottery!]
A bright light suddenly assaulted Kiernan's eyes, and when he opened them again, there was a pot of Sparkweed sitting in front of him.
Sparkweed was an orange herb, but it was crackling with tiny blue sparks and seemed to be emitting a faint humming noise.
'An herb? The hell?'
Kiernan, quite disappointed, tried to touch the herb, but whenever those tiny blue sparks touched him, his fingers turned numb.
'I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to the herbs, but I hope it's at least somewhat good, or I will be in a big debt!'
He couldn't help but pinch his glabella. The annoyance began rising within him.
'Come on, give me something good!'
Kiernan touched the lottery wheel again and made it spin faster this time, hoping for a better outcome.
Click! Click! Click! Click.
After some time, the lottery wheel's momentum started to stop, and it came to a stop with the pointer stopping on 'Whispering Shell.'
The shell appeared in Kiernan's hand. It was blue in color with some black dots scattered across its surface.
'A shell? Come on… Information.'
[Whispering Shell: It has an uncanny ability to capture distant voices, carrying whispers of the people from miles away as if they were spoken right beside you]
"Oh?"
Kiernan's eyebrow raised in surprise.
"So with this, I can hear people talking from far away. It is an excellent spying tool, but is this really worth 50,000 gold coins? I am not too sure, sigh."
Only one spin left.
Kiernan took a deep breath, then grabbed the wheel and spun it once more.
Click! Click! Click! Click!
The wheel came to a stop, and this time, its pointer stopped at 'The Duelist's Map.'
A worn-out, tattered map appeared in Kiernan's hands. It didn't look like much, but when he saw what was inside, his eyes widened in shock.
"This is… actually good?"
