Chapter 52 Hua Jin: The Master Is Here, Please Be Worshipped by the Disciples!

One Hour Later, Medicine King Valley

Jiang Che arrived above Medicine King Valley, controlling the cloud beneath him as it descended gently into the valley.

Within the valley, seas of clouds churned, flowers vied for attention, and the terrain was rugged and steep. A stream meandering through the valley, its surroundings filled with rare and precious medicinal herbs.

Not far from a ridge stood a small courtyard with three bamboo cottages. A girl, about thirteen or fourteen years old, sat on a stone bench in the grassy yard, busily handling some medicinal herbs.

As she worked with the herbs, she mumbled to herself.

“Three Money Grass… Heavenly Fragrance Flower… No, that’s not it…”

“Is it angelica root? No, that’s not right either…”

Jiang Che watched for a moment and quickly deduced what the girl was trying to figure out.

“It’s none of those. It’s golden coin seed.”

“Yes, golden coin seed!”

The girl froze, startled by the sudden voice. She nearly toppled off the bench.

“Who are you?”

“How did you get into Medicine King Valley?”

The girl, Hua Jin, put away the herbs on the stone table and looked at Jiang Che with a wary expression. Though the stranger was undoubtedly handsome, she wasn’t the type to be infatuated by appearances.

The fact that he had appeared here silently indicated he must be highly skilled. Not knowing whether he was friend or foe, she didn’t dare let her guard down.

“Don’t be afraid. I come from Snow Moon City and am a friend of Sikong Changfeng.”

“I’m here today to take you as my apprentice and pass on my knowledge to you.”

Jiang Che smiled gently as he spoke, his expression warm and kind.

The girl before him, about thirteen or fourteen years old, wore a light green dress, her dark hair tied in a ponytail. Her round, baby-faced features were framed by clear, bright eyes filled with lively energy. At the moment, however, she was staring at him as if facing a formidable enemy.

“Take me as your apprentice? Are you going to teach me martial arts?”

Hua Jin asked, tilting her head in confusion after putting some distance between herself and Jiang Che. The gesture made her look adorably innocent.

I spent my life immersed in the study of medicine and had never learned martial arts.

Wouldn’t it be too late to start now?

“No, I’m not teaching you martial arts. I’m teaching you medicine.”

“Teach me medicine? Are you joking?”

Hua Jin puffed up her cheeks and glared at Jiang Che, trying her best to look intimidating.

Although I was young, I was already a famed ‘Little Medical Fairy’ in Beili. Apart from my late master, Xin Baicao, who in the region could be qualified to be my teacher?

Even though this young man was attractive, he looked no older than seventeen or eighteen. Even if he did possess medical knowledge, Hua Jin didn’t believe he could surpass her.

She felt like he was playing a joke on her!

“I’m telling you, in this life, I recognize only Xin Baicao as my master. I won’t become your disciple, so give up!”

“No matter how you threaten me, even if I have to jump off this cliff, I will never acknowledge you as my teacher!”

Her eyes widened with determination, a defiant look etched on her face.

Jiang Che didn’t respond. He simply extended a finger and lightly tapped her forehead.

Hua Jin instinctively wanted to dodge, but she found herself unable to move as though an invisible force restrained her.

She was about to speak when she suddenly felt a torrent of knowledge flooding into her mind.

It included countless sacred medical texts such as Shennong’s Classic of Materia Medica, Huangdi’s Internal Classic, Treatise on Cold Damage Disorders, Compendium of Materia Medica, Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold, and Bian Que’s Internal Classic.

Of these, Hua Jin had only heard of Huangdi’s Internal Classic and Bian Que’s Internal Classic. The others were entirely unfamiliar.

Two minutes later, Hua Jin finally finished absorbing the medical knowledge.

Her mind was now filled with an abundance of sacred medical texts, enough to occupy her for a lifetime of study.

Additionally, she now possessed long-lost acupuncture techniques, such as the Ghostly Thirteen Needles, the Divine Returning Needle, and the Nine-Nine Rebirth Needle…

Her eyes widened as her pale cheeks flushed with barely-contained excitement.

“Disciple Hua Jin pays respect to Master!”

Snapping out of her daze, Hua Jin knelt and solemnly kowtowed three times to Jiang Che. Her movements were fluid and sincere, without the slightest reluctance.

A mechanical chime sounded in Jiang Che’s mind:

“Ding! First successful disciple accepted. Reward: 3,000 points.”

“Ding! Random task initiated: Recruit ten Children of Destiny as disciples, teaching them martial arts, medicine, and alchemy. Reward: 3,000 points per disciple.”

“Children of Destiny? You mean the protagonists of this world?” Jiang Che asked thoughtfully.

“Exactly.”

Jiang Che looked at the girl kneeling before him with a teasing smile.

“Well? Didn’t you say I wasn’t worthy of being your teacher?”

“Hehe… Disciple was blind and failed to recognize greatness. Please forgive me, Master.”

“From now on, Hua Jin will be your loyal disciple. Whatever Master commands, east or west, I will obey without hesitation, even if it means braving fire and blade…”

“All right, stop your flattery. Stand up.”

Jiang Che waved his hand, motioning for her to rise.

He had to admit, Hua Jin was quite a character.

“Master, I still don’t know your name.”

“Are you really from Snow Moon City?”

“How is my senior brother doing?”

“Master, you don’t look much older than me. What’s your level of medical skill?”

After standing up, Hua Jin circled around Jiang Che, firing off a string of questions like a cheerful songbird.

“I’m eighteen this year. As for my medical skill level… barely divine.” Jiang Che replied nonchalantly.

“Divine level?” Hua Jin froze, then looked at Jiang Che with admiration.

Like martial arts, medicine had strict levels: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Master, and Divine.

It was said that those who achieved divine-level mastery could cure any illness in the world. With the right resources, they could even revive someone who had been dead for an hour.

Her late master, Xin Baicao, had spent his life studying medicine but had only reached the Master level.

She hadn’t expected her new teacher to have achieved the legendary Divine level!

This was the pinnacle she had dreamed of her entire life!

Hua Jin didn’t doubt him. The way Jiang Che imparted knowledge to her was too miraculous to be a lie.

She had heard of Qi-based knowledge transmission but had never imagined that knowledge itself could be bestowed in such a way!

Previously, she had spent countless sleepless nights studying medical texts. Now, with the knowledge ingrained in her mind, she no longer needed to labor over books.

Hua Jin believed that once she fully comprehended the techniques her master had imparted, she would become a true Divine Physician!
