Chapter 30: On a cold night, she has her first hot meal since transmigrating (1)
Ruan Qiuqiu had thought about what her wolf husband would say as his first words to her.
Would he say her name or or introduce himself to her?
She would have never thought his first words to her would be to stay away from him.
One meter?
As in the rumored one meter distance that he required all demons and humans to keep from him?
So in his eyes, there was no difference between her and everyone else?
Ruan Qiuqiu somewhat self-deprecatingly quirked her lips. She didn’t know why her heart felt sour. She pinched one side of Mr. Gray Wolf’s evildoer face in disappointment. Grinding her teeth, she shouted, “I refuse!”
He could keep dreaming. She didn’t look down on him, but he told her to keep away from him.
No way, she refused to go along with this.
If Mr. Food Reserve was awake, Ruan Qiuqiu might not dare to be so arrogant.
But right now, he was an unconscious wolf. He was dreaming if he thought he could keep her away with one sentence.
Strangely, when she got closer to him, her cramping legs didn’t hurt as much anymore.
Ruan Qiuqiu struggled to bring Mr. Gray Wolf onto the stone bed.
Afterwards, she noticed that without a big wolf blocking the entrance, the howling wind blew into the cave.
She had to find something to block the not-too-big hole that served as the doorway.
Ruan Qiuqiu hesitated for a few seconds before walking to the side of the stone bed. She glanced at the gray wolf’s tightly shut eyes. Finally, she picked up her red wedding outfit and covered the handsome face of that mean Mr. Food Reserve, who had told her “to stay away” from him.
“…” She hovered by the side of the bed. With a slightly red face, she clenched her jaw and took off the two pieces of animal skin that she was wearing. Then, she swiftly put on the backup animal skin that she had brought.
This process took less than a minute.
The time her skin was exposed to the air was very short. Even though the gray wolf couldn’t see and probably wouldn’t be able to hear any sounds while unconscious, Ruan Qiuqiu still felt a strange sense of shame changing in front of him.
She took off the animal skin that she had covered his face with, then she went to pour the snow that she had almost died for into the stone pot.
While Ruan Qiuqiu waited for the snow to turn into hot water, she used a bone knife to disassemble her dirty and torn fur clothing. Then, she used a bone needle to stitch the parts into one big piece of animal skin that was barely big enough to block out most of the cold wind.
She spent a lot of effort to drag a small stone bench over to the doorway. Stretching her sore arms, she stuffed the corners of the stitched up animal skin into two depressions in the cave wall. Fortunately, the Heavens were sympathetic towards her. The locations of the depressions were very good for this purpose.
Ruan Qiuqiu used thread made from an unknown animal’s tendons to secure the large piece of animal skin to the cave wall. Then, she pressed the stone bench to the animal skin so that most of the chilly wind was blocked out.
By the time Ruan Qiuqiu was done with all this, the water in the stone pot was boiling.
Ruan Qiuqiu took out two small bowls and a wooden basin from her dowry bag. First, she poured some water into a bowl to cool it down. Then, she filled up the other bowl with water halfway and took out the small bag of tuber powder to pour into the bowl.
After hesitating for a moment, she settled on cooking some of the meat next.
She washed the bone knife, took out the piece of meat that had been pecked by the bird this afternoon, cut off the edge of the meat that was turning black, and expended a great deal of effort to cut the rest of meat into strips.
Her knife skills were okay, but the current conditions wouldn’t allow her to do anything beyond this. The bone knife wasn’t sharp enough. She didn’t know what animal this meat came from, but it was very tough. Cutting it this way was the best she could do.
