Chapter 49: Destroying Shirley 2
"You call for me, Miss?" Yan asked, standing in his full height, towering over the sitting Ivy.
Sitting at her coffee table, at one corner of the room, Ivy had Shirley's file opened in front of her. Paper all over the table.
"Yes. In two days, Mr. Frost would be at the company. I want the security to be added. You never know with that man," she ordered, not looking at him.
She decided after her anger subside to read through the whole file again. She may found something interesting, which she did. She found something she could use at her advantage.
"Pardon my question but why?" Yan asked.
James Frost. The man was his number one enemy. Someone he didn't want Ivy to associate herself with, which he already told her but was ignored.
"Because I called him." he would help her destroy her forever enemy.
James Frost, unlike them wasn't trying to hide his involvement in the life of blood. His family was fully involved in it, and reigned in the south of the country, exactly where Shirley came from. Without his authorization, not much could be done on his territory and with his help, she was sure to be able to get dirty secret on Shirley's family. More than just the human trafficking.
She was exalted. Shirley would regret to have ever had the gut to come and confront her. She has just signed the end of their age of prosperity.
"Does it has anything to do with what happened today? With Shirley?" He asked though already knowing the answer. Of course it was because of her. He had a bad feeling the moment he saw her burst in the house furious. Her action woke up the sleeping lion.
"What if it is?" She said looking up at him.
"I would advise you not to." He spoke out his thoughts.
"And why so?" she asked curious. Why was the man as protective towards her like a father wasn't standing up for her?
"Because she did nothing wrong."
Wait, what? Has Yan said what she just heard? Shirley did nothing for her to sake revenge? What was going on today? Has the world gone mad? First Mr. Smith asking for her hand, next Shirley confronting her and now this? The world definitely went south.
"Nothing wrong? She came here, humiliated me in front of my employees, and threaten to destroy my relationship with Liam and you say she did nothing wrong? You should be out of your mind." it was the only explanation.
"Ivy," she hated it when he called her that, it meant he switched to the parent mode. Gone was the guard who obey to her orders.
"You are going to forever destroy your relationship with Liam if you do what you are planning to. Attacking Shirley, for the second time, that would make him hate you, not whatever that little girl will tell him. And you don't want it, I know."
Of course she didn't want it. All she ever wanted was Liam love and happiness. That was why she didn't kill her at her first attempt. That was why she decided to leave, that was why she took the decision to try and support them, all this for Liam happiness. All for him.
"Liam love you. It's you actions that can destroy your relationship, not what she could tell him. His love is stronger than that," he said.
"But, I took the decision to let them be and she pulls this today? It would be the worse humiliation if I just swallow in and do nothing. She insulted m! She called me a slut,"
Yan gave her a point look, "Aren't you?"
Shock took over her features, "What? No! I'm nothing like that!" How could he agreed to it? She never did nor attempt to do anything beyond simple touches. She never even attempted a simple kiss. What was slutty in her behaviour?
"Ivy, you tried to take Liam from her many times. You are always all over him, even after he got with her. Maybe a slut is far saying but you aren't a saint in that regard." ok, he had a point, she had to admit.
"She saw it all, all your actions and said nothing and if today she burst out, out of everything you ever did, I think she had enough of you, that's all and it's legitimate. She has too much tolerance if you ask me." She took in Ivy flirtatious behaviour for years, never saying a word. It was enough of patient to impose respect. Not many could take it.
"She is an idiot," Ivy said. She could never have done what she did. Closing eyes on a woman obviously wanting your man. It was all Shirley did, nothing. Let her do as she wanted. In her stance, Ivy would have never left another woman be that close with her man.
No one should. But who was she to tell her so when it was to her advantage?
"She is but the idiot is loved by Liam, the man you can't hurt. Why don't you stick to your plan and let go? You were doing far more better then."
"You think?" not taking revenge on the humiliation, it was so not Ivy Stone style. She always reply a slap with a punch, never letting it slide. If not, how has she to ascend her dominance. For this once, the situation was delicate, perhaps he was right.
"I'm certain. It's the right way to go. Not planning her annihilation. It won't help."
"Fine! I give up. I shouldn't have call you. The others would have say yes and move on, but you, I should have known better. Always pushing in advices."
"Advices you aren't force to follow. A word from you and I would have shut up and do as you asked. You listen because you knew it was the right way to go. Because you aren't as bad as you want to believe."
"Ok, ok!" She repeated. Not knowing how else to react to his unexpected compliment.
"But the meeting with James is maintain," she said.
"Why?" he asked confused. He thought all has been settled and the decision abandoned. Before he could panic, she explained herself.
"I can't just cancel it like this plus it has been a while," she explained. Since she left three years ago, they never had the opportunity to meet again. It would be great for them to catch up.
Yan nodded, displeased but didn't protest. The essential was already done. Stopping his mistress to destroy her life.
You aren't as bad as you want to believe, those words from Yan replayed in her head repeatedly. Not bad? Looking at her hands, who committed hideous crimes, she doubted it. Didn't believe it.
Before her mind could go darker, dirtying the image she had of herself, a call from Liam pushed away all the ill thoughts. His presence was her light.
"Hope I'm not waking you up," he said after she answered.
It made her take notice of the time, pass ten pm. You loose notion of time when planning someone destruction it seems. She had no idea it was that late.
"Not at all, wasn't sleeping. Had work to do," which was your fiancée annihilation.
"Hope I'm not distracting then." He spoke in a soft tone.
Ivy raised an eyebrow at his tone, now it was becoming strange.
"What do you want?" She asked.
"Who said I wanted something?"
"Your voice and words. Not only you want something but it's something you are sure I would refuse. Since when are you ever worry about disturbing me? Just say what you want. It's not as if I can ever tell you no."
Liam chuckled at the other end, "Maybe it would be the first time and I hope not. I really need you help here."
"What is it Liam?"
"It's about Shirley," he began.
Shirley? She heard the name too much for the day. It gave her headache only hearing it. He wanted her to help him with something involving Shirley? Now she agreed with him, maybe for the first time she would tell him no. She couldn't leave from wanting to destroy her to helping her in less than a minute! Her life was a mess.
