Chapter 23-Loose Ends!
Chapter 23
In a high riser in Tokyo, on the top floor, executives of an organization named No-Head Dragon sat, perplexed by the recent progress of the Nine School's Competition.
"This is over. We never should have opened up the tables for this years competition. If First High wins again we will lose millions, if not billions," one of them began cursing vehemently the Yotusuba heir.
First High was always going to be the favorite, but they had hoped to use the Crimson Prince's popularity to divert some of the more greedy customers. Then the boy had demolished the red-haired heir of the Ichijou clan, and now all the bets were for the First High's victory.
"And what the hell was that battle board competition? We rigged it using so much money, and then the committee cancelled the whole event," another screamed angrily.
"I was told that the First High had made it a term after they did not allow them to call for replacements after the accident that if any mishap was to happen during any of the events, the event would be disqualified. They threatened to pull out of the competition, and the committee could do nothing," the secretary elaborated.
"We need to do something!" Douglas Huang, the Eastern Head of the organization, screamed as everyone became quiet.
They all sat at a round table with a single phone in the middle, and suddenly, a raspy voice came from the phone.
"They have begun suspecting you. The Yotsuba have entered the fray and are looking into it," and with those words, the whole room became quiet.
"FUCK"! one of them cried though they all had the same thought.
"Take care of the loose ends! And leave! Soon, they will come for you!" the voice from the phone continued.
"And none can stand against the boogeymen of Japan."

INEI YOTSUBA
It was late into the night. After his match with Masaki, he is hounded by everyone, and he even gets chewed out by Mayumi for making a scene, even though he could tell that she is happy about his voice.
And then word had come that Mari-san had woken up, and they had rushed to her, and he had only gotten free a few hours ago and had barely gotten rest when he had received a message from Ayako.
And so, he walked to the terrace and watched as she stood there waiting for him.
"Congratulations on your victory, Inei-sama," she said as she gave him a small bow, and he nodded.
"Do you have the information," he asked, and she nodded.
"I do. After your classmate's incident, I was able to find out the mole. I have all his information right here," she said as she passed him a folder, and he took it and skimmed over it.
"So, I was right. It is the No-Head Dragon," he said as he saw the organization behind it.
"I have not called for backup as you ordered. What is your next command?" she asked, and he raised a brow, looking at the man's address.
"He lives in an apartment in that building," he asked, pointing towards the massive building opposite to them, and she nodded.
"Yes. He is in a single-bedroom apartment on the thirtieth floor," she replied, and he nodded as he closed his eyes and opened them again. Their color changed once more as he focused on the building opposite him as he located the man's apartment.
"Yeah, I see him," he said as he handed back the folder to Ayako.
"Let's see what he has to say about our dear friends," and with that, he walked forward and stood on the edge of the building, and then as he pushed his psions into his legs, he jumped forth with all his might and raced across the air and landed right in the bastard's balcony.
And then he knocked on the glass window as a pale and sweaty man looked at him in pure horror.
"Knock, knock. Please open up Sawamura-san."
And the man backed away, his eyes filled with fear trained on him.
"Stay away! Stay away!" he screamed as Inei stepped through the window, its glass long reduced to atoms as he entered the apartment and headed towards the so-called traitor.
"I am afraid I cannot do that. Though I promise to be rather gentle if you give me everything I want," he offered.
"Get away from me," and at that, the man reached into his back, took out a gun, and fired it at him.
THUNK! THUNK! THUNK! THUNK! THUNK!
He fired five shots, and Inei watched his eyes widen as he saw Inei's fist clenched infront of him, as his demeanor shifted, as five bullets clattered to the ground as he unclenched his fist.
"I was going to make it easy for you," he warned as the jolliness vanished from his tone, as he felt the apartment clear up and the world slow down as the man looked him in the eye.
"But now that offer is rescinded," and with that, he saw the reflection of his own irises in those eyes as his eyes shifted, and a three-pronged object spun ominously as he commanded.
"Talk!"
And immediately the man's eyes became dazed as he collapsed onto the ground as Inei ripped apart his mind, reducing him into nothing but a mumbling mess.
Though he now had all the intel he needed, the best of all was the address for the Headquarters of No-Head Dragon.
He felt the air rippled behind him as Kuroba Ayako appeared. She saw the bumbling mess he ahd reduced the man into and gulped nervously, feeling his irritated mood.
"I bring grave news, Inei-sama," she began, and he raised a brow.
"It seems that the organization behind him has sent a clean-up crew. Two generators are coming here as we speak while a mysterious car was seen racing towards the hotel," she informed him, and he looked out the window at the conspicuous weapon she was talking about.
"Tch," he clicked his tongue as he began to walk towards the window once more and jumped up the boundary.
"Handle this thing and alert the proper authorities. Don't let the committee sweep this under the rug," he ordered, and Ayako nodded.
"As you say, Inei-sama," he said, jumping down once more and landing heavily on the ground right in front of the van carrying the mercenaries and generators.
BOOM!
The van came to a halt as people began to rush out of it and began to surround him.
"Now, where do you think you all are going?" he asked, smiling as two generators stepped forward, and the very sight of these vile abominations made his blood boil.
Generators were artificial magicians, more like robots created using a magician's brain. They showed the absolute edge of human depravity, and he knew of just the person and organization that had first created them.
"Dahan," he whispered ominously as his temper boiled.
"You have caused some dear to me quite a lot of distress. So, I am afraid you are getting decommissioned," and with that, they began firing at him. Yet Inei did not seem to care as he brought together his hands, even as the two generators rushed towards him.
"Domain Expansion...." and suddenly magic burst forth from his body as the magical circles inscribed into his very being lit up.
"...Malevolent Shrine!"
BOOOOM!

SHIBA TATSUYA
Shiba Tatsuya sat in his room working on his CAD for his match tomorrow, contemplating about his situation. When he had been first drafted for the School's team for the Nine School Competition, he had never thought that he would be participating in the event, and yet the situation had developed as such that he was given no choice but to participate in the Competition alongside his other duties as the Engineer.
However, some of that load had lightened given the cancellation of the Female Battle Board Competition and Inei-kun taking over the investigation of the aberration that had caused Mari-senpai's injuries.
"I cannot believe you are going to be participating in an official event tomorrow," Miyuki gushed out from the bed behind as he worked, and she was far more excited than him over this whole affair.
"Finally, you are going to be in the limelight getting credit for your prowess," she added, and he raised a brow.
"That is if I win," he added as he turned to face her, and she rolled her eyes.
"I have the absolute belief that you will win, nii-sama. I can easily say that none of the students here hold even a candle to you when it comes to magic," she said resolutely without a doubt and though the statement bordered on arrogance it was true in some ways.
"Even Inei-kun," he asked, and at that, her eyes narrowed.
"Well, I don't think you two will ever be on the opposite sides," she added, though he wouldn't be so sure of that. Yes, he and Inei were on good terms, and he respected him for his prowess and his abilities, but he knew that Inei Yotsuba was ruffling too many feathers.
In a way, they were both opposites while having similar strengths. He tried to blend into the background, using his obscurity as a weapon, while Inei Yotsuba was the opposite. He stepped forth into the light, forcing his enemies to do the same.
"Speaking of that, a message arrived from him a few hours ago," he began as he passed her his phone.
"He informed me that he has handled your little slip up to Mayumi-san," and it was no minor slip up. Miyuki had revealed their real identity to the President-san, and though he was aware of her inclination towards Inei-kun, one must never forget that she was also an important member of the Saegusa clan, a clan which was making some questionable moves recently.
Miyuki's smile stiffened at that. She knew of the mistake she had made. And how much trouble such a thing could have landed her in with Maya-sama, though Inei-kun had taken care of that for them.
"I am so..." and suddenly, he raised a hand, stopping Miyuki as he rose from his seat and walked towards the window, his senses warning him of impending danger.
Miyuki must have realized it as well, as she jumped from the bed and joined him near the window, only for them to watch as a blurry figure landed infront of a van. He activated his 'Elemental Sight' and focused on the area, and realized just who it was.
"Inei," he whispered out as Miyuki perked up.
"That is Inei-kun?" she asked, and he nodded as he watched nearly two dozen men surround him, all of them armed to the teeth, though they did not matter. No, the main concern were the four generators flanking him.
"They are attacking him. We have to help him," and with that, Miyuki ran off, and his senses told him that she was not the only one to do so.
And yet, his own sight moved away from the scene as he turned to look at the roof of a building a block away, or more specifically, at the magician sensor placed there, to get rather accurate data about a magician's prowess.
"So, the military is making a move, huh," he whispered as he picked up his CAD, aimed it at the sensor, and pulled the button.
"I am afraid I cannot let you do that," and with that, his magic activated as he destroyed a simple wire within the sensor, making it useless.
"That should be plenty," and with that, he placed it back and watched as Inei decimated all the enemies using a single spell, though it seemed his cousin had made a little mistake in his rage and had taken a bullet into his shoulder.
"He will be fine," and with that, he went back to programming his CAD.
