Chapter 488: A Beast in human form!
"You know," Rivock grinned as he took a stance staring at the beasts. "I'm a little of a beast myself."
With that, the beasts lunged at him with chilling precision and speed.
SWOOSH!
A claw strike sliced through the air for Rivock's face. But he calmly tucked his hands into his pockets and leaned backwards, avoiding the claw.
Another Lycan, seeing that Rivock leaned back, quickly dashed forward swinging its foot for his head from straight behind.
As if he had a pair of eyes at the back of his head, Rivock leaned forward causing the furry leg to whip over his body instead of connecting.
He immediately leaped into the air with force, narrowly avoiding a vicious thrust to his abdomen.
All of this while his hands remained tucked neatly in his pockets, his chilling smile never leaving his face. He landed a metre away, boots pressing against the dirt with casual grace.
"Is that all?" Rivock asked as he narrowed his eyes toward the beasts.
AWHOOO!
The beasts all howled in unison and, in their anger, charged toward the human who was still grinning at them as if they were nothing more than pests.
"Come on, make this worth my time so I can be forced to use about five percent of my strength on you all. Come on!" Rivock baited, his voice dripping with arrogance.
As if understanding his taunt, the Lycans quickly changed their formation.
Four dashed to his side with two on either flank, three appeared in front of him, and the remaining three closed in behind.
To an outsider, it looked like the direct descendant was cornered, trapped in a noose of claws and fangs, but the truth was far different.
The four beasts at his sides attacked first, swinging their claws with incredible speed. Rivock leaned to the side, avoiding one pair, then kicked off the ground to slip past another swipe.
He was about to break free of the encirclement when the beasts behind him took matters into their own hands… or claws. They swung a set of powerful strikes for his back, but Rivock spun around with casual elegance, his leg snapping outward.
He didn't even look like he was trying, yet unconsciously, a massive slash of Ki burst out from his foot. It slammed into the beasts behind him and instantly decimated them, splitting them cleanly into two halves.
"Oops." He muttered as he landed lightly, as though the slaughter had been nothing more than a misstep. Three beasts had fallen like paper before a blade.
The remaining beasts howled in unison, rage filling their glowing eyes as they charged. One beast swung its fist for Rivock's face, but he tilted his head aside and let it skim past.
Another punch came dangerously close, yet Rivock only grinned wider. His cold eyes locked onto the Lycan, and for the first time, he removed a single hand from his pocket.
He thrust his palm forward.
BAM!
BANG!
The strike connected squarely with the beast's abdomen. In an instant, it was sent flying back like a ragdoll, a gaping hole torn through its body. Its eyes rolled lifelessly before it even hit the ground.
"Hmph! I'm using more and more strength than usual, which shouldn't be so." Rivock muttered, his tone almost bored, as though killing these creatures was beneath him.
He straightened his posture, ignoring the other six beasts entirely. Yet they did not falter. Their jaws parted in unison, fangs gleaming under the light, and they charged recklessly.
"Why are you all looking at me like that?" Rivock asked, almost amused.
The six Lycans roared as their claws shot forward with immense speed, each one aiming directly for his neck, eager to rip him apart.
"I already told you all that I'm somewhat of a beast too. At least that's what my Clan and father say all the time." He added with an ear-to-ear grin that stretched across his face.
All of a sudden, Rivock vanished from the midst of the beasts, causing them to panic and crash into each other in confusion.
That was exactly what he aimed for. A moment later, he reappeared a metre away, his body blurring with such immense speed that it almost looked like teleportation.
"Thank you for gathering together," he muttered coldly as he lifted his palm and aimed it toward the six beasts that had unintentionally clustered together after their chaotic collision.
Rivock's palm began glowing, pulsing with a radiant yellow light that grew brighter with every passing second. Before the beasts could even react or scatter, a massive beam of Ki exploded from his hand with astonishing velocity, its brilliance clouding his view for a heartbeat.
BANG!
BOOM!
The deafening bang ripped through the air, drawing the attention of everyone nearby. They all turned to see the devastating yellow beam consuming the beasts. When the dust finally cleared, their heads were nowhere to be found.
The ground beneath their bodies had caved in, scorched and torn apart. Deep trenches ran neatly across the earth as if a giant had carved them out with a blade.
Not only had Rivock drawn the attention of his allies, but also that of the remaining seventy beasts. These Lycans had been calmly and systematically tearing through houses in search of more humans, leaving destruction in their wake. But now, their prey had announced himself.
Fifty of the Lycans immediately branched off, abandoning their hunt and charging at him with ferocious roars, their eyes blazing with animalistic rage.
"That's right, come to daddy. Let daddy school you all on how to be more beasty." Rivock's grin widened even more, stretching into something both cocky and wild.
The thunderous pounding of their footsteps echoed like war drums against the broken earth as they lunged toward him, hunger and fury blazing in their eyes.

Meanwhile, a short distance away, Mada was facing his own trials. Unlike Rivock, he had been encircled by ten beasts, their snarls vibrating in the air around him.
The portal that had vomited these Lycans into the city still stood wide open about ten metres away, pulsing with sinister energy as if more horrors waited on the other side.
Mada's grip tightened around his sword, his knuckles whitening as his scowl deepened. His chest rose and fell steadily, but the fire in his gaze burned hotter than ever.
"Bring it on!" he roared, and the beasts responded with a collective snarl before dashing at him like shadows unleashed.
The first attack came fast—a claw strike aimed straight for his abdomen. With precise calm, Mada stepped into the strike and brought his blade down to intercept.
Steel clashed against claw, sparks flashing. He pivoted on his heel and spun, his body moving in perfect rhythm as his elbow, coated in surging Ki, smashed into the beast's jaw.
A sickening crack followed. Its head snapped backward, and its body went flying, skidding and bouncing violently across the ground before lying crumpled in a heap.
But there was no time to breathe. Another beast blinked into existence before him, so fast it nearly looked like it had teleported. Its jaws snapped open, fangs glinting as it lunged for his throat.
'Tch! That do…'
His thought was cut short as his instincts screamed. It wasn't just one. He could sense two more beasts pouncing at his back, their long claws stretching forward, aiming to shred him apart.
"F*CK." He cursed under his breath, fury flashing in his eyes as the danger closed in from every side.
