Chapter 472: The Triple Threat Burst!
"What?!" Finn shouted in shock, his mouth wide agape at what he had just seen.
If his jaws could stretch any further, they would probably be hitting the ground right now with how wide he had opened them.
"I think some flies have just seen a new home to live in," Thalos commented with a chuckle, which made Finn immediately shut his mouth. Even so, he was still utterly shocked.
"Ho… ho… how did he do… do that?!" Finn stuttered uncontrollably, his mind struggling to process what he had just witnessed. "Zach was a stage 4 warrior! And if I'm not wrong, the Supreme Magus should only be a stage 2 warrior, so how? How is this even possible?"
"Beats me." Thalos shrugged casually. "I'm just as shocked as you are."
'I told Finn not to interrupt earlier, but I had a feeling I might need to step in later. What I didn't expect was that Grey would actually end up winning the fight. F*ck! Zach is a stage 4 warrior, and he defeated him? And not just with magic—he used only Ki and wind magic?
Crap! If that's the case, I don't even want to imagine what he'll do to that direct descendant at the academy, who also happens to be a stage 4 warrior.'
It wasn't only Thalos and Finn who were shocked. The onlookers were equally stunned, and even Zach's own friends had their mouths hanging wide open.
They quickly rushed over to check on Zach, and though he was still breathing, he was completely out cold.
Seeing this, their gazes shifted back toward Grey, who stood in the middle of the town square, huffing and panting in exhaustion. Even so, he remained strong, refusing to let his body stumble even for a second.
'Th… that… what just happened? The Triple Threat Technique is a move designed to swiftly dodge incoming attacks in the first two steps, and then counterattack in the third.
But while I was performing those first two steps, Ki and mana built up inside me, perfectly syncing together. That synchronization created an immense power within me that I had no choice but to release forward.
And when I did, I unknowingly unleashed my wind magic at the same time, combining it with the attack and completely knocking him out. It's almost like… like I just created my very own technique.
Triple Threat Burst.' Grey thought, a faint smile tugging at his lips beneath the concealment of his hood.
"We need to leave." A voice suddenly whispered into his ear, and he spun around, spotting one of Dame's friends standing beside Thalos.
"Come on," Thalos murmured as well, and the trio quickly darted away from the town square. After running non-stop for several minutes, they finally arrived back at the inn where Grey and Thalos had been staying.
Without hesitation, they rushed into Grey's room, and with a heavy sigh of relief, Finn slammed the door shut.
Thalos casually and quietly strolled toward the chair in the room, lowering himself onto it with composed ease. Grey, however, sat heavily on the bed, wincing in pain with every slight movement.
Finn, on the other hand, was anything but calm. He paced back and forth restlessly, his hands rubbing his temples as though trying to piece everything together.
"Now tell me… what the f*ck was that?!" he finally exploded in frustration.
Grey didn't reply. He remained lost in thought, his mind still replaying the battle that had just unfolded.
"ARGH!" Finn roared in exasperation, throwing his hands through his hair and glaring at the duo as though they held the secrets of the world.
Thalos didn't budge an inch at the young man's tantrum. He simply sat there, unmoving and unblinking, looking more like a statue than anything else… though, in truth, he technically was.
"Not only do we not know who the hell you bozos are, you decided to come into our faction and cause a fight with the number one strongest student of the Noxarian Faction Academy. I mean, who does that?!" Finn shouted, his voice echoing through the room as his eyes darted between the two in front of him.
"Not my fault that he decided to arrogantly attack first." Grey replied casually while still staring down at his hands, as though the matter didn't even deserve his full attention.
"What's your deal anyway?" Thalos asked with a raised brow, his tone sharp with curiosity.
"My deal is that now that you've pissed Zach off and humiliated him, he won't rest until he hunts you both down!" Finn shouted again, frustration dripping from his voice as his fists clenched tightly.
"Too bad we aren't from around here. And his face was covered throughout the duel." Thalos shrugged indifferently, as if the whole thing was no big deal.
Finn opened his mouth to argue but nothing came out. He stared at the duo with burning anger while his foot tapped rapidly on the floor, the sound echoing with his agitation.
"Let Dame return from wherever he went to. I'm sure he would agree with me." Finn scoffed, tapping his foot even harder, his annoyance clear.
'Tch! I don't care about all that. What I want to know is how the hell that was even possible.' Grey thought with a deep frown etched across his face. 'If I'm not wrong, that guy was a Stage Four warrior just like Mada, but I still defeated him?
Funny enough, I didn't even go all out. It was just my Ki combined with my wind magic, and I was able to keep up with him? Now imagine if I had taken my blue pill, the one that boosts my speed. I would've been faster than ever, leaving him no chance to counter.
So, combining these factors, am I really already on par with a Stage Four warrior? And just imagine if I finally awaken my last magic: lightning. Kek! At that point, I'd completely crush them.
I'm glad my trip here wasn't wasted one bit. Oh, how I can't wait to fuck those direct descendants up badly.' His lips curled into a wide grin, and he almost chuckled aloud, though he forced himself to hold back.
A few long minutes of Finn's restless foot-tapping passed before the sound of a knock came from the door.
Knock, Knock, Knock!
"Great! He's here." Finn mumbled quickly, striding over and opening the door to reveal Dame walking in.
In his hands was a small sack, and Grey immediately recognized what was inside. Dame's face carried a deep frown, his mood clearly heavier than usual as he stepped into the room.
"What the hell did you do, Supreme Magus?" Dame asked, his voice booming and commanding authority. The sudden force behind his words caused Finn's lips to curl into a soft, satisfied smile.
"Meaning?" Grey asked with a raised eyebrow, keeping his tone calm and unreadable.
"I heard the news. A figure in a purple robe battled the Orange Tiger and humiliated him badly. And there aren't many around here who wear robes, so I figured it had to be you." Dame's frown deepened, his eyes boring into Grey. "Now tell me, why the hell did you have to cause such a drama?"
'Yikes! News sure travels fast around here.' Grey thought silently.
"Told you he was going to support me." Finn chuckled loudly, triumphant in his assumption.
"Support you?" Dame asked with a raised brow as he tilted his head, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "Who said anything about supporting you here?"
"Huh? What do you mean? Didn't he do something bad by causing such a scene?" Finn angrily retorted, his frustration boiling over.
"Did something bad? The hell?! He actually did me a favor by beating the shit out of Zach for me!" Dame replied with a hearty chuckle.
"What?!" Grey and Finn shouted in unison, both equally stunned by the sudden twist in events.
