Magnate Tycoon: How Did Simply Enjoying Life Make Me a Male God?

Chapter 139 Filming Location

November, already deep autumn.

After several autumn rains, the weather had turned much cooler.

In the early morning, the distant sky was still shrouded in a thin layer of gray, as if not fully awake. The streets were covered with fallen leaves, like a golden carpet, rustling softly when the wind blew.

Li Jing stepped out of An Tong's apartment, wearing the latest lv autumn coat, a crisp chill greeting him.

"Hmm, slightly cool, comfortable."

Li Jing took a deep breath, showing enjoyment; he liked the slightly cool autumn climate, always feeling that warmth was more easily felt in such weather.

Feeling the faint moisture in the air, like a light veil brushing his face, Li Jing tightened his clothes, trying to hold on to that elusive warmth, then headed towards his Maserati.

Today, Wen Lan finally called him to the film set to get familiar; it seemed his scenes would be shot in a few days.

Regarding Li Jing, Wen Lan hadn't paid much attention to him, apart from asking him to get familiar with the script, not asking him to do anything else, seemingly planning to wait until filming to adjust and discuss in detail.

It might also just be because Wen Lan had been too busy recently and forgot about him.

Li Jing drove his sports car alone to the address Wen Lan sent, in the direction of a residential area on the outskirts of Celestial Sea City's old town.

Li Jing remembered it used to have quite a few migrant workers renting there together because it was cheap, though far from the city center.

This time he didn't ask An Tong to accompany him, but rather told her to stay at home by herself.

Except for going out to play or shop, Li Jing would ask An Tong, otherwise, he basically let An Tong handle her time freely.

So An Tong didn't have much less free time apart from taking care of Li Jing's meals.

Especially in the past month, as her original fashion blogger account hit a bottleneck, An Tong started a food blogger account instead.

Since she tried different styles of cooking daily for Li Jing, she simply decided to film it, both making food for Li Jing and running her social media account.

But surprisingly, this temporary idea worked unexpectedly well.

Thanks to her excellent skills, exquisite and high-end daily dishes, along with her own good looks and daily updates, her food account quickly reached one hundred thousand followers within a month, even surpassing the fashion blog account she had managed for years.

As Li Jing would say, on the internet, you never know which path will make you go viral.

Because of this, An Tong spent more and more time on social media.

Li Jing didn't mind, happy for her success, so today he intentionally left An Tong at home to edit her videos.

...

Wen Lan's filming location was indeed not close; even without traffic, Li Jing drove for over an hour to reach it.

By the time he arrived, the film set had already started various tasks.

The scene was being filmed in an old residential district on the outskirts.

As the buildings here were aged and still retained the architectural style from decades ago, Wen Lan specifically chose this location.

For contemporary art films, such places are treasures, renting existing venues saves quite a bit on set construction costs.

As soon as Li Jing got out of the car, his blue Maserati caught the attention of some nearby staff.

Yet, obviously, no one recognized him, so naturally, no one came up to speak to him.

Li Jing didn't mind, with his hands in his pockets, curiously observing the surroundings like a tourist, without a hint of being an actor in the movie.

So much so that staff really mistook him for a passerby.

"Excuse me, filming is happening here, outsiders aren't allowed."

Looking at the young staff in front of him, Li Jing smiled, "I'm not an outsider, I'm with the crew, Director Wen asked me to come."

"Director Wen asked you to?"

The staff's stern face showed obvious surprise and doubt, reassessing the brand-clad Li Jing before uncertainly saying, "Sorry, I need to verify, please hold on."

Immediately, the staff began contacting through a walkie-talkie.

Meanwhile, Li Jing leisurely stood by observing the whole filming location.

The site was simpler than Li Jing expected, with no exquisite decorations nor standout signs, just a group of people filming under a residential building not far ahead.

From Li Jing's vantage point, he could see a cameraman carrying an apparently heavy camera constantly adjusting positions, while the lighting technician set up equipment Li Jing couldn't name with focus.

Nearby, other crew members and props team moved various items back and forth, seemingly creating a scene environment. In a corner, Li Jing even spotted two makeup artists hurriedly adjusting an actor's makeup.

Unfortunately, though, today's scenes were all with supporting actors, with no main actors present.

Yet the whole site appeared tense yet orderly, the chilly weather warmed up by everyone's activity.

"So this is what a film set looks like..."

Li Jing had dreamed of acting and filming since his teenage years, standing on the set now, he felt an indescribable understanding, filled with emotion.

"Excuse me, are you President Li Jing?"

By this time, the staff seemed to have confirmed the situation and turned to ask.

Seeing Li Jing nod, they became noticeably more respectful, stepping aside to invite him in, "Really sorry, I've never seen you before; it was the assistant director who asked Director Wen and found out you're visiting today."

"No problem, Director Wen just wants me to get familiar with the environment and atmosphere today, nothing big, won't take long." This chapter's true source is My Virtual Library Empire (M|V|LEMP-YR).

Li Jing's gentle manner increased the staff's goodwill, who then personally guided Li Jing through the busy shooting location towards an old house.

During that time, many in the field noticed Li Jing, especially some standby actresses, silently surprised by his luxury brands, starting to exchange whispers, inquiring about Li Jing's identity.

"President Li, Director Wen is having a meeting in this room."

By the old house door, the staff leaned closer and whispered, "You can listen in, but try not to disturb the meeting; today Director Wen is a bit..."

Seeing the staff's hesitant expression, Li Jing raised an eyebrow, "Director Wen in a bad mood?"

The staff cautiously nodded, "Filming always runs into various troubles, plus Director Wen's style is meticulous, so she's in a bad mood today, everyone's avoiding trouble."

Hearing this, Li Jing nodded, thanked them, then raised his hand to knock on the door, then reached out to push it open.

A soft click of the door opening was heard.

In the cramped, crowded room, seven or eight stern-looking, furrowed-brow people sat by the table, pausing their discussion, turning towards the door.
