Chapter 180: Condition
Jenny's mom's name is Juliet.
She was wearing a plain white long dress that was probably her nightwear.
From the looks of it, she hasn't even taken a shower.
"Hahaha, Mom, look who this is, your future son-in-law. Tell me mom, is there any man more charming than this man I've chosen?" Jenny immediately spoke while laughing.
Aldric couldn't help but roll his eyes at her words, feeling she was saying something so ridiculous.
Her mother, Juliet frowned for a moment.
Stay connected with empire
"Sit down, over here," she said, pointing to the sofa opposite her.
When in front of her mother, Jenny really showed her affection for Aldric.
She wrapped her right hand around his left, pulling him to the sofa her mother had pointed to.
It might be more accurate to say that she wanted to show her affection for her lover to her mother.
Aldric tried to be casual but with a polite gaze.
Juliet continued to stare at him, not even seeming to blink.
With her rather fierce eyes, most men would probably be frightened by her gaze.
The problem was that he had come to marry her daughter, a famous singer and one of the most beautiful women in the world.
It's actually not Juliet who is watching him. He discovers that Eliot has also emerged from the staircase and stopped in the middle of it, sitting down while playing with his cell phone.
They met not long ago at Magician Online. However, she felt that Eliot purely wanted to see their conversation since it was about marriage.
Once they sat down, Jenny spoke once again, ahead of her mother.
"You won't believe it, but he's really Aldric from that village who was my childhood sweetheart. With an old love this handsome, how could I ever fall in love with another man again," she said.
Her mother may have been a fierce woman, but she was also a woman who was very upfront about her wishes.
She even showed the attitude that her wishes could not be obstructed by anyone.
After saying that, she looked at Aldric for a while while blinking her left eye.
"Uhmmm..." Juliet cleared her throat, repeating it several times.
"Why did you say that?" She asked, looking up at Jenny.
Her tone was very serious, which instantly gave others the impression that she didn't like joking around at all.
"Yeah, I was a bit worried about you rejecting our relationship, so I wanted to emphasize that my marriage to Aldric cannot be canceled even if the sky falls," she replied in a casual tone, picking up a snack on the table and eating it.
"You're only 20 years old. You may seem more mature than teenagers your age, but don't you think it's too early to get married at your age?" Juliet asked again.
"Sooner or later isn't the point," Jenny replied. "The point is that I can't put it off any longer. If we're just dating without any official ties, there will definitely be a lot of distractions and I can't keep Aldric by my side. Only by getting married, only then can we continue to be together, live and sleep together. Only if I tie him to my side can I be at peace. Otherwise, not only my mind would not be at ease, but also my body. Lately I feel like I can only continue living if I hug him every night without a barrier."
"..."
Jenny has a blunt nature but this time she was a little too blunt.
It was natural that she was outspoken about her love, yet she was also outspoken about desire.
Maybe it can still be said, but she said it to her mother, even her younger brother heard it.
The two people, mother and son, their faces visibly twitched.
The mother's face also became redder as it was made to realize that her daughter was already a mature woman, had reached the age where what she needed was no longer just material, but also a man.
Perhaps some women who have already lived a married life are so traumatized by men that they are never interested in such a relationship again.
However, Jenny has yet to do so. Her desire for such a life might drive her crazy if it is not achieved.
Of course, as a mother, Juliet wishes for her daughter to have a loving and lasting relationship with the man she chooses.
The question is whether Aldric can provide that without disappointing her halfway through their journey?
Juliet stopped responding to Jenny's nonsense.
She looked at Aldric again.
"Aldric," she said, calling his name.
"Since we've known each other for so long, I won't ask you anything more about you because I know all your background, I know your father and mother, even your grandparents."
He don't know what she was trying to say, but she looked so serious that Aldric tensed up for a moment before forcing himself to calm down.
To him, it was good enough that this woman didn't show her fierce side to him.
"You know what Jenny is like now, she is no longer the village girl you knew. Right now, all of Europe and even the United States probably know who she is. I'm not going to ask if you can give her something that matches her status. No, that's not it," she continued but after that she was silent while looking into his eyes.
"Mrs. Juliet, please tell me what I should give to Jenny?" Aldric knew that she wanted to give him a chance to speak first, so he asked.
"A guarantee," the woman replied.
Her eyes became sharper as she continued, "a guarantee that she is healthy and unharmed every time she meets me. That's all I want from you. If I see even the slightest abrasion on her skin, then I will not let you go easily."
Her request was very simple, to put it mildly, but even after saying that, her sharp gaze did not diminish in the slightest.
She was waiting for his answer.
Despite her fierce nature, as a mother, she obviously doted on her daughter, Jenny. Until now she must have worked very hard to support her life to be as successful as she is now.
Since Jenny is a successful woman, she doesn't seem to care about the material things the man she chooses can provide.
The demand for health is not just about protecting her from others, but a promise not to hurt her.
While her mother was very serious, Jenny only chuckled occasionally, clasping Aldric's hand as if to encourage him.
"Mrs. Juliet..." Aldric finally began to answer.
He lifted Jenny's hand that was clasping his by pushing it up.
"Not to mention health and safety, even I will make your daughter happy at all times," he said.
Those words were not something he thought up, but something that came from his own heart. It was also because it was his wish to keep her happy.
Jenny's smile grew wide at his answer.
"Mom, Aldric is a very strong man, no one can hurt me with him as my husband. And, I think for him to hurt me is the most impossible thing. He is too kind to hurt me and he is obviously a very loyal man because all this time he has never been in contact with any woman or touched them despite so many of them flirting with him."
As she spoke, she only praised Aldric, making her mother glance at her sharply.
"Huh!" She snorted at her.
"It's up to you two, but if you get married, don't think about being childfree. I want a new grandchild every year," she said.
Aldric couldn't help but cough at her words.
To his surprise, Jenny responded casually.
"Don't worry mom, we'll make grandchildren for you every year, hahaha. After all, our genetics are so good, our children will naturally be the handsomest men and women. The world will become more beautiful with their presence," she said, full of confidence.
Aldric, "..."
Juliet frowned slightly at her daughter's answer. Although it was the answer she wanted, the way she spoke clearly displeased her.
Unfortunately, her personality had been like that for a long time.
"All right," she said. "You two can take care of your own marriage. I won't get involved anymore, I don't like troublesome things. Now I want to take a shower first!"
She then stood up and strode towards the back room.
"Heheheh!" Jenny chuckled as she left. She leaned closer to Aldric with her shoulder against his, not caring how her little brother looked from the stairs or the maids watching from the kitchen.
"Darling," she said quietly and gently.
"Now there are no more barriers to our marriage. In a little while, we will return to our village and hold the ceremony there. I've also contacted the civil affairs office. They said they can help us make our marriage certificate during the ceremony."
"When?" Aldric couldn't help but ask because Jenny had said she would take care of everything.
He didn't even know what date they were getting married.
To be honest he was starting to feel like he wanted it to be expedited. After being constantly wooed by her, he was starting to lose it. He became filled with the desire to become her husband soon.
Another reason he wanted it to be expedited was because he started to discover what people say. When you are about to get married to your beloved, there will be other distractions in the form of flirting, from Alice to Anna.
This is of course a serious problem because these distractions can really ruin his relationship with Jenny.
If they were already officially married and living together, then he would be able to find it easier to ignore the distractions.
