Mist was swirling, haze-like, as a gentle breeze brought a hint of moisture to the mountaintop.
After the mist faded, a bare mountaintop was revealed. In the middle of it, a tall and hefty man sat, munching on something, "Ah, that was my last chicken leg, when is that guy going to arrive? I'm famished. It's not easy trying to score a feast off of him. O Lord! Why couldn't he be a woman? If so, I would marry her and have her comfort my stomach daily." Saying so, the fat man rubbed his greasy rotund belly, a look of lament on his face, strangely comical when expressed on his chubby face.
"Fatty, daydreaming again? Do you think I still can't beat you? If I win, you have to return Feng Nu to me." A grave voice echoing from the underworld.
Seven brilliant lights floated overhead, landing with a ding in the constellation of the Big Dipper in front of the fatty. These were seven knives, only with their handles exposed. At the end of each handle, a different, dazzling gem was embedded. The intermingled colors of blue, red, green, yellow, silver, white, and black instantly covered the mountaintop with a layer of diffused gem light.
This was no ordinary gem light, but a special barrier that contained seven magic elements. Unless the caster willingly lifted it, or if the seven-colored gems that maintained the barrier were completely destroyed, nobody would be able to touch these seven knives.
With a clap of his hands, the fat man laughed, "Good, good, the treasures have arrived. Come out, boy with the treasures. Show me what new trinkets you have. If you can beat me, I'll return Feng Nu to you. Otherwise, as usual, you'll have to prepare a full seven-series feast for me."
"Humph, fatty, watch yourself. I'm afraid that this time, not only will you miss out on the seven-series feast, but you're also going to pay with your life." From within the mist, a figure in grey garb ambled forwards. This was a young man in his twenties, with golden hair cascading down his back. His handsome features, enough to make a woman jealous, wore a hint of composed coldness. He didn't glance at the fat man as his tranquil, lake-like blue eyes were fixed on the seven shining gems ahead — as if they were his whole world.
The fat man chuckled, "We'll see about that. You don't know how much I'm willing to fight for food. Meat strips are good, meat pieces are better, but if there are large pieces of meat, the rest can be thrown away. Come on, I have enough energy to play another round with you."
The young man with golden hair sighed, "Fatty, why do you always make things hard for me? I could make you the seven-series feast for a month straight in return for Feng Nu. If I don't see Feng Nu today, I would even risk using the Life Magic to keep you here."
Fatty pinched his chubby chin and said, "Can't do that. If you have no attachment or longing in your heart, the food you make becomes less tasty. You expect me to accept an inferior feast after trying the best? To be honest, sonny, your talent is the best I have seen. You know, when magic has been cultivated to this degree, it really makes me in awe!"
The young man gave a bitter smile, "As you already know, the reason I practiced magic wasn't to become a mage. Rather, I wanted to create more delicious dishes. Moreover, my magic barely reaches the eighth level."
The fatty shook his head, "No, that's entirely different. Even though you can only cast eighth level magic, your control and comprehension of magic are incomparable even amongst sorcerers. Tell me, who else can combine the sources of fire and ice, and use them to invoke the origins of the other magic elements, namely, wind, earth, space, light, dark? Although these are auxiliary, you are the first All Attribute Mage in the continent. If I remember correctly, they call you Fire and Ice Chef Magician. Indeed, your power lies in fire and ice, hence this is the most suitable title for you. Ha-ha, I will have another good meal today."
The young man with golden hair flashed a cold light and frowned, "So, it seems we're going to have the dispute after all."
Fatty laughed and said, "Of course, of course, I'm still waiting to eat your seven-series feast. As before, I'll give you time to chant your spells. A little physical activity before the meal is indeed not bad, I seem to have gained a lot of weight recently."
The blond youth's gaze changed, becoming unusually determined. From beginning to end, his eyes stayed fixed on the seven exposed gems. "We've known each other for quite some time now, but I haven't introduced you to my dining companions. They are my closest friends."
Fatty asked with some curiosity, "Really! I've never heard you mention it. These seven knives of yours are weirder than the next. Tell me more."
The blond youth's eyes revealed a passionate gleam. "The Sigh of the Ice-Snow Goddess—Morning Dew." With a humming sound, a blue light suddenly shone intensely. The water element on the mountaintop noticeably strengthened.
"The Roar of the Fire God - Righteous Sun Knife." A red light lit up.
"The Light Song of the Freedom Wind - Ao Tian's Knife." A green light lit up.
"The Melody of Earth Awakening – Longevity Knife." A yellow light lit up.
"The versatile Hexagonal—Xuánjī Knife." A silver light lit up.
"The Dawn that penetrates heaven and earth - Holy Radiance Knife." A white light lit up.
"The Curse of the Eternal Hell – Devouring Demon Knife." A black light lit up.
Seven-colored lights suddenly shone intensely, interweaving into a vibrant rainbow-like display. The blond youth smiled, looking at the seven-colored lights, and said, "They are the seven divine blades, the magic staffs which embody the seven elements of Ice, Fire, Wind, Earth, Space, Light, and Dark. But most importantly, they are all my kitchen knives."
The smile on Fatty's face disappeared, replaced by a sober expression. He clearly felt that this time, the young man's aura was markedly different than before. A faint golden light appeared around him, which was startlingly equivalent to the peak of Fighting Qi — the God Fighting Aura. His upper body leaned slightly forward and his chubby body wrapped in golden light then looked just like a solid heavy sword. Yes, he was indeed the Sword Saint, the highest title for a martial artist.
The blond young man's eyes shone brightly. He raised his hands and the nimble fingers quickly drew two hexagrams in front of him, led by his forearm. One was red, the other blue, and both were strikingly vivid. "Oh Goddess of Ice and Snow, please bestow upon me the Eternal Frost. Oh God of Fire, please grant me the Phoenix Paradise Flame. In my name, let the extremes of ice and fire merge." The seven gems on the seven knives lit up simultaneously. The entwined red and blue light brought the remaining five colors rushing towards the blond youth.
The seven-colored light enveloped the young man. With the previous two red and blue hexagrams as the guide, a bizarre All Attribute Barrier was formed. A peculiar smile appeared in the youth's eyes as he said to Fatty, "Let me show you a special magic technique I've just researched – All Attribute Shadow Puppet."
