Mage Legend

Chapter 502: Travel and Non-Travel Travel Chapter Forty-One Wine Night_3

"Really?" The dwarf knocked on his head again, "I clearly didn't drink, so why am I hallucinating?"

Lynch smiled as he watched Morgan's actions, then noticed the rare confusion in Wislin's eyes. Perhaps he was still reflecting on his anger, thinking about where it stemmed from. What Mages feared most were thoughts like Wislin's not being isolated. If such anger spread throughout the entire Paladin Order, it would be difficult to maintain their traditions. Angry people are always easy to control and manipulate, and those filled with hatred even more so. That's why Lynch used magic, to warn his friends before something went wrong.

"Alright, since it's rare for everyone to be together, why don't we celebrate?" Lynch called over the innkeeper, "Get us the best wine you have here!" He turned to the knight and pointed at Morgan, "You don't want him drinking, just afraid he'll cause trouble again. Now that he's starting to follow my lead, you can call off that bet!"

Wislin looked at Morgan, but the dwarf deliberately avoided his gaze. Though he felt a bit excited inside, he didn't want to reveal his thoughts and deliberately put on a strong face. Wislin burst into laughter and hugged Morgan tightly, "Alright, alright, for the sake of friends gathering, everything else can be put aside, let that bet go to hell!" He personally handed Morgan a large glass of wine, "Come on, cheers! You must drink it all in one go!"

"Wahaha, I've been waiting for this day!" Morgan clutched the large glass with both hands, eyes fixed on the liquid inside, "I've heard that if you don't drink for a long time, it tastes especially good when you do! I'll just... glug... glug..."

Generally speaking, when Morgan drank, his red big beard would also get its fill. But this time, he didn't let a drop spill, pouring it all down his throat greedily. Lynch watched his happy companion, infected by the mood, and also downed his drink in one go. However, he immediately remembered nothing...

The next day, the sun shone on the mage's face, the warm feeling making the sleeping Lynch unable to continue his dream journey. He blinked hard twice and forced his eyes open.

A splitting headache, as if struck by lightning in the head. Lynch's first reaction was that he was attacked, but immediately realized his Refined Gold left hand wouldn't allow such a thing to happen. Moreover, his Powerful Wand, Spatial Bag, a stack of medicinal herbs, Magic Material Bag, Magic Book, and Mage Robe all lay quietly on the nearby table, seemingly intact.

"Mage Robe?" Lynch was slightly astonished, "Then what am I wearing?" Taking advantage of no one around, he quickly changed back into his original outfit. But his gaze immediately fell on the ceiling: a large hole was perfectly casting the noonday sun onto his bed.

"Something's really odd." The mage washed his face with cold water from the basin in the room, "This doesn't feel right, not good at all."

The stranger things were yet to come—downstairs at the inn, Soka was sneezing while teasing a tiger, training it to jump from one table to another. Upon seeing the mage come downstairs, the angel rubbed her nose and said ruefully, "Brother Lynch, it's all your fault I caught a cold!"

"Aren't you capable of healing yourself?" Lynch knew this was Soka's 'trick', "I'm feeling a headache too; if you can heal us both, I'll buy you some treats!"

"Not falling for it! Sister Zilvra already bought me treats." Soka stuck out her little tongue, brushing her cheek, "Last night, you were really shameless, hmph! Hmph!"

"I didn't do anything!" Lynch thought this might be a new trick Soka learned, as Zilvra was full of deceptive ploys, and surprisingly taught the innocent little angel. The mage thought that he should focus more on providing a proper and upright educational environment for the angel from now on.

"Sir, did you sleep well?" The hotel owner seemed very scared, bowing as he approached Lynch, his address even changed, "Sir, do you want to eat something now? After drinking, you'll usually be very hungry."

"Wine!" Lynch shouted, scaring the hotel owner into a stumble. The mage pulled Soka over, urgently asking, "Did I get drunk yesterday? What happened?"

"I don't know what others look like when they're drunk, achoo! But Uncle Morgan Big Beard said you were drunk, and he had a hard time subduing you, looked like a fight." Soka demonstratively rubbed her nose hard, "Then you were thrown into our room, and I was chased out. The roof was punched through, and I had to hang on a tree outside all night, got sick!" Soka blinked hard, clapped her little hands, "So, Brother Lynch, you have to take responsibility!"

"Alright, it seems it's my fault. I'll compensate you with the best candy." He nodded, placing Soka back on the floor, "And I'll personally make the candy, though it has to wait until we reach the Snow Mountain, so it's an IOU for now."

The angel, while pinky-promising with the mage, healed her own ailment. However, with the powerful bloodline of an angel like Soka, the chances of actually getting sick were incredibly slim. Lynch didn't fuss over whether he lost out, but started looking around for the others.

"Where did they all go?" Lynch touched Soka's head, "Did they just leave me, a sick person, in the room, and all head to the street?"

"I don't know about that, but the knight uncle, Big Beard uncle, and Sister Zilvra all got hurt this morning." Soka's manner of addressing people was always very mixed up, she said, "I healed them all, how's that? I'm impressive, right?"

"Little one is the most impressive!" Lynch encouraged Soka, then turned his gaze to the innkeeper hiding behind the counter, "No need to be so scared, I'm quite sober now. I will compensate for the damages. If you're still not satisfied, I can personally fix them." Lynch thought about his "Creation Law" ability, repairing the ceiling shouldn't be a problem. "But you have to tell me, where did my friends all go?"

"Sir, it's not necessary. Your lady friend has already covered all the damages, no need to trouble you further." From the innkeeper's expression, Lynch could roughly guess the terrible things he did after getting drunk the night before. Fortunately, it seemed the power of the Necroman Magic Pearl and Magic Origin hadn't gone out of control, as there didn't appear to be any loss of life. The tavern owner continued, "They said they were going to meet some friend together. Sir, you needn't worry about the holes; whatever your instructions, we will fulfill them to your satisfaction! As long as Sir is happy, everything is good." The owner said timidly, "That's what Lady Zilvra instructed."

"Zilvra? She'd say that?" Lynch felt as if, waking up, all the strange things converged at once, "She even paid for the damages? She? Unbelievable! How could she be in such a good mood?"
