The Queen stood tall again, her smile fading just slightly, she didn't expect the blow from him, even though she wasn't going all out, she didn't expect Ethan to push her.

With a flick of her wrist, ice blades formed in the air and shot toward Ethan. He didn't dodge—he sliced through them with lightning-coated hands and the ones he didn't, the lightning around his body destroyed them and he closed the distance instantly.

[Static Surge]

They clashed.

The Queen made blade of ice and Ethan used his hands as his lightning struck with force.

The Queen's blade shattered upon impact but she quickly jumped backward.

Each time she tried to freeze the ground, Ethan shattered it with lightning. Each time she tried to dodge, he was already ahead of her.

She struck his side once with he blade but—but it barely slowed him as his body was still coated with lightning.

Ethan wasn't planning to be at the Queen, he just wanted to show her that he wasn't a weakling like she thought, but now he was actually enjoying the fight.

A heavy blow to the Queen's shoulder forced her down to one knee. Before she could react, Ethan appeared behind her again.

His punch landed clean on her back—controlled, but hard.

She fell forward, her palms hitting the grass.

That's when the Royal Guards moved. In a flash, swords were drawn and magic circles appeared in the air around them.

"That's enough!" one shouted as she dashed forward.

"Stand back" the Queen shouted as she stood up, and immediately Ethan jumped backward creating space between them as he felt her Mana.

"I must admit you're strong, strong enough to make me go all out" the Queen shouted as giant spikes of ice formed around her.

Ethan knew she would come at him with the intent of winning and with all the spells he had been casting, his Mana was low, he quickly dashed towards his sword before the Queen could make a move.

The Queen raised her hands and spikes formed in front of her, and unlike before Ethan couldn't count the number of spikes as she shot them towards him.

[Advance Barrier]

Ethan cast a barrier in front of himself as he readied himself behind the barrier, her spikes covered a large area so he couldn't run sideways, and his barrier was already cracking.

Cracks ran across Ethan's barrier as the Queen's ice spikes hit it again and again. The sound was loud, sharp, like glass breaking and then it broke.

The barrier shattered into pieces but Ethan was already ready.

Ethan raised his arms just in time. Ice shards slammed into him, but with his sword and speed he blocked every single one in his path and soon the ice stopped.

But before he could recover, the Queen was already on the move.

She flew forward, not even touching the ground. Ice formed beneath her feet, making a smooth path as she charged.

In both hands, she held a sword made of pure ice, longer but this time it was glowing slightly.

Ethan didn't have time to think. He grabbed his sword and blocked just as she reached him.

*Clang!*

The force of her strike pushed him back again, Ethan was surprised, he was expecting his sword to break through her's but that didn't happen.

The Queen also didn't stop. She slashed again and again, her strikes faster than before. Left, right, down, up—her sword moved quickly. Ethan tried to keep up, blocking with his sword and dodging her attacks.

Ethan parry her sword and moved to the side in a flash, trying to land a hit—but the Queen spun around and caught him in the side with her ice blade.

A sharp pain shot through Ethan. He jumped back, holding his side. Blood trickled down, but he didn't fall, the hit only just grazed him.

"You're strong," Ethan said, breathing hard.

The Queen's eyes were sharp now, her smile gone. "I told you. I haven't even started yet."

She slammed her foot down.

A wave of ice exploded from the ground, racing toward Ethan. He jumped, but more ice spikes shot up from where he landed.

He barely rolled away dodging her attacks.

"Damn," Ethan muttered. He was getting slower, even though his Mana was almost refilled his stamina was getting low.

The Queen raised both hands now. The sky above her changed a little, with clouds spinning and the next moment snowflakes began to fall.

"Ah Shit..." Ethan muttered, "Is she trying to kill me?"

Giant spears of ice formed above her—five, six, seven of them, each as big as a tree, Ethan couldn't possibly block them so his option was to dodge or shatter them.

She pointed.

The spears came down.

Ethan stretched his hands forward accumulating mana in his hands and fired, [Chain Lightning].

This was his best option and it worked splendidly as his lightning tore through the first spear shattering it instantly and then the second, third fourth and soon only shards of ice dropped to the ground.

Ethan turned towards the Queen who had a smirk on her face.

Before Hal told him Ethan already sensed something behind him with his heightened sense, it was another spear of ice but instead of dodging like the Queen wanted Ethan didn't.

"Come forth, Varek" Ethan shouted and in front of him a magic circle appeared and Varek came out in front of him.

Ethan simply stood behind him as the giant ice spear slammed into Varek with full force.

*BOOM!*

The spear shattered into hundreds of tiny shards against Varek's armored chest. He didn't move. He didn't flinch.

He just stood there, tall and cold like a statue, steam rising from the spot the ice had hit.

Ethan grinned as he turned towards the Queen. "That was close"

Varek turned around also facing the Queen, he stepped forward slowly, his heavy boots crunching the frozen grass beneath him.

The Queen's smirk faded. Her eyes narrowed as she stared at the knight in black armor.
