season 0: chapter 25

Player FelineFine was far from pleased with the current state of plans. Especially as it was apparent that any and all such plans might as well be thrown out the window. She ripped another vine from the stone column and stepped examining the weathered markings. Her pure black fur rippled as she frowned and pulled out a small pocket book filled with notes. Her powerful feline form paced between the column and surrounding rubble, occasionally adjusting her glasses. Her storm grey eyes crinkled around the edges as her frown deepened and she let loose a sigh, rotating the book until it was upside down and looked from it to the column a few times before squinting and giving a short nod. This was the place.

The book snapped closed and she motioned to the line of wagons waiting. “Here, this is the place.” Her voice was firm and there was only a breath of silence held after the words rang out through the trees and crumbling ruins of what once was a great city that was now cradled by vines and detritus. Voices of the caravan people called out around her and they began to fan out to find, or make, level spots.

FelineFine motioned up her menu and selected the message function. Her message was short and simple as she tapped it out and clicked send. With a wave the menus were gone once again and she looked at the column again. Silently she reached out and laid a paw on the sigil in the center.

FelineFine tapped the yes option and sighed. The error was proof that they were in the right place, but did they have the time? The caravan would only be in this area for about four in game months and Pillowhorror seemed dead set on pressing the timeline forward regardless of the proper way or pre assigned quest lines. There was a very specific route that had to be taken, one that he seemed bound and determined to ignore entirely. She had hoped, in vain apparently, that with Scout having joined the game that things would be set to play out in the manner they were supposed to. But she, and the ever mysterious ProlixalParagon only exacerbated the matter, seeming to encourage all out chaos at any given opportunity.

FelineFine looked around and pulled out a wad of ribbons, tying them to trees that would mark the boundary of the dig site and notifying caravan members where they should avoid setting up camp. As she finished the knot on the final ribbon she glanced down at her notifications and cursed. Her shift had literally just started and somehow someone broke the game enough to force the devs to shut the servers down. This was going to set them back even more while encouraging PillowHorror to continue his shenanigans. Great. Now she was out here, reclaiming the ruins of some lost city to turn into another base for the guild. This had to be the one in the worst condition that they had claimed thus far and she sincerely hoped that whatever they found within would be well worth it. Especially as it would be tethered to her. Though she had no doubt that Horror and the others would help with the costs of reconstruction there was also the massive amount of time she would have to spend here. You had to be in the base to enact repairs and only the owner of the base could change settings on the base defenders and other functions.
