Lucky draw Starting from Fairy tail

Chapter 31: Whispers of Wind and Luck

After completing the boar mission, Erza and I flew across the countryside on my golden eagle, the wind rushing past us as the sun climbed higher. According to the map Makarov gave us, the next quest location was quite a distance—nearly an hour's flight westward toward a walled city nestled between high cliffs.

Once we arrived, I guided the eagle toward a quiet clearing just outside the city gates. The guards flinched at our arrival but quickly relaxed when they saw the Fairy Tail emblem on my hand. We dismounted and walked into the city, its streets buzzing with midday activity.

"Let's find the quest commissioner," I said, scanning the surroundings.

After asking around, a fruit vendor pointed us toward a modest apothecary tucked between a bakery and an armor shop. A small wooden sign read: "Windroot Remedies."

Inside, the shop was filled with herbal scents and the faint hum of magical reagents.

A middle-aged man with round glasses looked up from behind the counter. "Ah, Fairy Tail! I was hoping someone would come soon."

"We're here about the wind elemental problem," Erza said.

He adjusted his glasses. "Yes, yes. They're wreaking havoc in a valley east of here. I need rare herbs that only grow there, but the elementals have made it impossible to gather them. They're aggressive and almost immune to physical attacks."

"Do you know how many?" I asked.

"Five that I've seen. Maybe more. They float like spirits and slice the air with blades of wind."

He gave us a rough sketch of the area, and we left without wasting time. After summoning the eagle again, Erza and I soared eastward. In less than ten minutes, we reached the ravine.

The valley below shimmered with magical energy. Wisps of air twisted unnaturally, and faint screeches echoed between the rocks. The wind elementals hovered like angry storm spirits, their bodies translucent and swirling with currents.

"They look like C-rank threats," I said, narrowing my eyes. "But they're immune to regular attacks."

"Let me try," Erza said.

She leaped down into the valley and drew her sword. Charging at one of the elementals, she slashed through its swirling form.

Nothing happened.

The elemental shrieked and retaliated, forming a compressed blade of wind that shot toward her. She barely dodged as another one joined in.

I narrowed my eyes. "My turn."

I activated my skill panel, spending 1000 MP. All I had to do was think about activating Power of Luck. The moment I did, a multiplier value flashed across my mind.

———————————————————————————————————

Lucky Hit

Current Multiplier: x6

As the golden aura formed around me, I raised my hand and wrote in the air:

"FIRE."

The letters burned gold. Six blazing FIRE erupted forward, each burning with intense heat. They homed in on the five wind elementals with incredible speed.

The moment they struck—

Boom.

The fire didn't just burn—it erased. The elementals disintegrated, their forms unraveling into harmless wisps.

The valley grew quiet again.

It was worthy of Lucky Hit being Tier 10 because even if I spent more than ten times the mana, it still wouldn't have half of this power.

Erza landed beside me, eyes wide. "That was... a lot stronger than when you showed me 'AIR'."

I shrugged. "... well, I spent a lot of mana. That's the tradeoff."

We looked around. Nothing was left of the elementals. No cores. No remains.

Except...

Cards.

Five of them hovered where the elementals had fallen. Erza blinked, puzzled.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"You don't see them?" I asked.

She shook her head. "See what?"

I stepped forward and reached for one.

The moment I touched it, the golden card visibly appeared in my hand, forming as if from nothing. Erza blinked in surprise.

"Just something I can collect," I said with a small grin.

The moment I touched the first card, text appeared.

Finally, I tried Option 5 on the last card.

It glowed, shimmered—

Then shattered.

I stared at the fading pieces.

"Damn."

Erza placed a hand on my shoulder. "Are you alright?"

I smiled weakly. "Yeah. Just... tired."

She studied my face for a second. "Do you want to rest?"

"No. Let's report back to the merchant."

then for the last card

"Option 5 again," I muttered. "Only appears on E-rank or above."

I considered for a moment.

For three of the cards, I selected option one: summon. They vanished into golden light.

For the fifth card, I chose option four: absorb Luck Origin.

It glowed, shattered, and then condensed into a single golden drop that hovered before me. I touched it, and it merged into my chest.

A warm pulse ran through me.

Checking my stats:

Name: lucky

HP: 100%

stamina: 100%

SP: 3,000/3,000(soul power)

MP: 14,900/16,900

OL(origin luck)) : 0.5

"Origin Luck?" I whispered. "Another mystery for future me to figure out."

We flew back to the city. The apothecary was stunned.

"Back already?!"

I nodded. "The area is clear. You should be safe now."

He paid us gratefully, though clearly still surprised by our speed.

As we left the shop, my stomach growled.

Then Erza's did.

We glanced at each other.

"Lunch?" I offered.

She nodded without hesitation.

We explored the food stalls nearby, trying everything from roasted skewers to crispy flatbreads. The city's famous honey-roasted lamb was especially good.

Erza's eyes sparkled as she tried a caramelized apple tart.

"We have to bring these back to Magnolia," she mumbled, her mouth full.

I chuckled. "Next time."

Once satisfied, we paid our bill and headed for our third mission.

Two down. Three to go.
