Chapter 28: Training and Gift (edited)
The trees of Magnolia's forest whispered softly in the wind as Erza and I walked in silence. Despite the peaceful rustle of the leaves and the golden rays of the setting sun filtering through the canopy, there was an underlying tension in the air. A fire was building.
"You really want to fight them all?" I asked, finally breaking the silence.
Erza nodded, her expression unreadable. "I do. But not all at once."
I chuckled. "Smart. Pick one."
She scanned the clearing ahead before saying, "The wolves. I want to start with the Wind Wolves."
She turned to me, her eyes sharpening. "But first, tell me about them. Everything."
I smiled. She wasn't doing this to prove something. She was treating it like a study—training, research, discipline.
"Wind Wolves are pack-based. Fast, coordinated, and they slash with wind blades when they run. Individually, they're manageable, but in groups... it's like fighting knives in a tornado."
She absorbed every word.
I summoned five Wind Wolves. They circled the training ground in formation, growling softly as their eyes locked on Erza.
Erza stepped forward, slipping into a defensive stance. Her posture was solid, but her breath was steady.
The first wolf darted in. She sidestepped, barely grazing its flank with her fist.
A second lunged. She caught it with a sweep of her leg and rolled away to avoid the third, using the momentum to spin back onto her feet. A burst of wind cut across her side, grazing her shirt.
Her magic flickered to life—a burst of crimson light as she Reequipped into basic leather armor and gauntlets. With improved defense, she launched a counter.
She moved through the clearing like a dancer in combat, using terrain and agility to manage the wolves' coordinated strikes. One wolf was knocked out cold. Another retreated with a limp. The rest circled again, cautious now.
I watched in silence, quietly impressed. She was learning. Adapting.
As she prepared for another wave, I stepped back and closed my eyes.
It was time to test something important.
I formed the hand seal, channeled my mana, and activated the new skill.
Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu.
Ten identical versions of me emerged with faint golden glows, each stabilizing quickly.
And here's where things got interesting.
Unlike in Naruto's world, I feel my mana drain from .And unlike Naruto world where chakra come from with they Instead, the clones instinctively began absorbing mana from the air.
Thanks to my Magic Cultivation Method, they inherited my recovery abilities.
I stared in awe. "They can recover mana just by standing around… this is perfect."
Each clone looked at me for instructions. I grinned.
"Use Solid Script Magic. Rotate through your known words. When your mana hits critical, rest. If you hit full again, resume. Simple loop."
They all nodded at once.
It was beautiful. Ten me's, training, leveling, all while I did nothing. It was like watching free experience points tick up.
Then, one of the clones crossed his arms and muttered, "This is so boring…"
Another groaned, "I'd rather be punching something. Or summoning something. Or anything."
A third one chimed in with a dramatic sigh. "We're just looping 'AIR', 'FIRE', 'IRON' over and over. There's no flavor in this grind!"
I raised an eyebrow. "I knew you guys were going to complain."
Clone #5 pointed at me. "Then join us! At least suffer with us!"
I smirked. "Tempting, but I have to save my mana for... you know what."I tilted my head subtly toward Erza.
All ten clones turned in unison, following my gaze.
Erza, mid-fight, launched herself over a wolf's back, sword flashing, hair catching the last bit of golden sunlight.
The clones collectively paused.
"…Fair," said one.
"…Understandable," said another.
"…This one time," muttered the rest in near perfect sync.
I glanced at my mana. It was low but stable after the summon. I'd recovered enough to risk something else.
'Let's try something that might help Erza…'
I opened the Lucky Draw interface.

I stared.
"Jackpot."
I stored the potion carefully and turned back to watch Erza.
She had switched to using a heavier blade. Her movements were slower now, more exhausted, but no less determined. She slashed at the Metal Golem I summoned earlier, sparks flying.
Only a faint scratch marked the iron.
She dropped to one knee, panting.
I whistled.
She looked over, blinking in confusion.
I pointed to the horizon. "Sun's setting."
She looked up, surprised. "Already...?"
I walked over and held out the emerald potion. "This is for you."
She frowned. "What is it?"
"A gift. If you trust me—drink it."
She looked me in the eyes. Then, without hesitation, downed the potion.
Energy surged through her. Her eyes widened.
Then—pain.
She staggered, one hand flying to her eye patch. Green energy coiled around her face.
I rushed forward and caught her wrist before she could scratch.
"Wait. Let it finish."
After a tense minute, the glow faded.
I gently reached for her eyepatch.
"May I?"
She nodded, breath shaky.
I removed it.
Both eyes blinked.
Both… saw.
She gasped. Hands flew to her face.
Tears streamed down her cheeks.
Then—
She tackled me to the ground.
"Thank you! Thank you! Lucky… I can see!"
I blinked, wheezing. "You're... welcome... but you're breaking my ribs."
She pulled back, laughing and crying at the same time.
As twilight settled, I helped her up.
"We should head back," I said.
She nodded. Her smile lit up the dimming forest.
We walked side by side toward Magnolia.
'I should check my clones tomorrow...'
I grinned.
'Free XP, here we go.'
